Part 1 of our honeymoon was spent in a different town but we decided part 2 should be Galveston... well for a Thursday night stay at Holiday Inn Resort Galveston On the Beach it was like a total of $93... you couldn't beat that! We mentioned at booking it was our honeymoon so when we arrived into our room we were surprised with rose petals all over our bed, and the 2 swans that form a heart made out of towels... and also 2 Hersheys Chocolate Bars tied to balloons... Room was on the top floor (8... Read more

I wasn't pleased to say the least with any part of my stay at Holiday Inn. I suppose I misunderstood the description the hotel gave about each room having an ocean view, that is not accurate. When we arrived at our 2nd floor room we were greeted with an atrocious smell of septic back up, we made our way to the room and were devastated to find the view far below our expectations. Mind you we are not difficult people to please a simple view of the ocean was however our primary goal. My husband wen... Read more

Went for a quick getaway - hotel was clean, rooms well appointed, microwave and fridge, beautiful ocean and pool view. Staff were responsive and friendly...kids zone allowed for safe, child friendly activities - free popcorn for the nighttime poolside family movie - restaurant breakfast was delicious and affordable. Walk across the street and you are at the beach....lovely. We will be coming back throughout the summer because everything was so easy there! We had a lot of fun. Look no further for... Read more

My friend and I stayed here for one night and power went out the entire stay. We were unable to enjoy anything. Complained to management and they weren't willing to do any kind of compensation for the inconvenience. Finally, after going back and forth I was offered 50,000 IHG points. Well, to this day never received them. I travel a lot and customer service is everything to me. If I have a choice, my loyalty wouldn't be to the Holiday Inn chain. This was our second time staying with our kids(6 & 2 yo) both visits had been excellent from beginning to end. The hotel grounds are clean and very inviting. Rooms are spacious, the balcony view was amazing, the jetty restaurant food is really good. It's in a very good location, walking distance to restaurants, stores and of course the beach. My kids favorite were: 1. The heated pool. They have lots of toys, floaters and life vest the n case you forgot yours. My 2yo enjoyed the shallow part of... Read more

I like this hotel and their pool, but it really is just average. I just don't see this hotel as better than any other hotel. Even though it's a resort, the amenities just aren't there for paying the higher price of the room unless you like the bar attached and the restraint. I will grant them to the kid's program they have. Since they do have a restaurant, there's no free morning breakfast. Stayed for one day after a cruise. We had to wait until 4 pm to check in. So we went to the pool, but it was not pleasant at all. They had half the pool blocked off while they worked building what appeared to be a water feature. It was very windy and a bit cool. Once we checked into the room we had a nice view of the gulf and the room was fine. However, the air conditioning unit was very loud and I did not have a good night sleep. Everyone working there was so very nice and helpful. Especially Tiffany Bryan and Margarita Ramos in the B.Jiggers restaurant. Loved that they showed a movie by the pool each night, had karaoke during the day at the pool, and all the food we ordered was great. Our room had some mold on the wall towards the ceiling, bed was not very comfy, carpet/walls had stains on them.

Our favorite place to stay, while in Galveston. This time they put us on the very top, eight floor. Beautiful, scenery of the beach. Always, so friendly and helpful. Activities by the pool, sno balls for the kids. Movies at night by the pool. Does need a little updating though. They offered free shuttle service to out cruise terminal to and from. But, we already paid in advance online to the terminal.

Getting a hotel room in Galveston in June is not that easy, especially for one night. But I found a room on Cancelon at this property and snapped it up. Last minute booking. Enjoyed our stay and spent most of the time in the pool. I don't see what makes this hotel a resort especially for the $$ but overall would stay here again for proximity to everything. Staff was excellent from check in to concierge to housekeeping.

I would love to be able to give this hotel a higher rating. We stayed here with our grandson before we left on a cruise. He loved the pool for the kids, the game room, the movie night we would watch from our balcony if we wanted. The room was nice and clean and the staff was friendly. We paid holiday/weekend rate which isn't cheap but expected. But we parked our car here while we went on the cruise, the following day we were getting on the ship. Great view of the ocean but had issues with the room. They refused to move us to the same type room and/ or provide a refund so we could switch hotels. Not as advertised on many items. Check in was at 4 pm and we had to wait two more hours after that for room to be ready after an 8 hour drive.

We waited in the car for about 15 minutes and got the call that the room was ready. After lugging all of our stuff through the lobby, outside and around to th... Read more

This is my first time at this hotel, and everything was just wonderful. The staff from the Front Desk with Briana and Chrisselle to the bar with Dustin and Cody to the kids club with Courtney to the gift shop with Nedra. They are all just so wonderful. They helped me find what to do in town to where to eat and shop. The view was just wonderful on the 3rd floor. I will be coming back here often.

This is a family oriented hotel with balconies overlooking the ocean. Any room on the third floor or above has a wonderful view. The beach is across the street. There is also a lovely pool on the premises for those who prefer their swimming salt free. This hotel does not provide a free breakfast but there are great restaurants within walking distance or a short drive. Service is the best part of this place. Sure, the location is great and the beds and pillows are comfy. The property itself is showing some age but the overall experience here is fantastic. I left my phone and before I boarded my cruise ship called and asked if they'd find it and keep it for me until I returned in 5 days. Also the free parking while cruising is a great bonus. Sure enough, my phone was waiting for me upon my return. Love staying here and will do so many times in the future!

My office booked this room for business travel. There is music blaring at the pool until 11 p.m. All of the doors to the rooms are on the backside and outside. Some outlets didn't work. If I was looking for a hotel to come and get drunk with people and party this would be great, but since I had to get up at 7 in the morning for work this is a terrible place for an organization the contract for rooms at. I had the pleasure of staying at the Holiday Inn Resort Galveston Beach recently. It was a 4 night stay on points, so when using points, you kind of feel that you are going to be given their bargain basement rooms; not so at this hotel.
