Nice property just a mile or two west of the end of Galveston's sea wall. Far enough from the hustle and bustle of the tourist area to be relaxing, but close enough to be in the middle of everything in ten minutes. The staff is very nice and accommodating, friendly and helpful. The property is clean both night and day. The pool and hot tub were the greatest things about the property, large, very easily accessed by rails and stairs in case of handicapped guests, and their own private walkway ... Read more

I booked a trip back in January for a May family vacation. I booked direct with the company and chose the option for charges upon arrival. This made my pricing and ability to cancel different than the other otions listed. My family booked 4 rooms total. All the rooms were billed and charged 50% of the cost to stay in February. It was slightly disturbing since this changes my rates interest with my card comoany. I let it slide since the funds were available and I didn't want to disrupt the plans.... Read more

This is the perfect place to be for peace and serenity. There are kitchens in every room and you have all the amenities of home. Just bring your grocery with you or take a short hike to the store. Moody Gardens and other sites are close to this location. The rooms are spacious and have everything you need. There is a television in the family area and the bedroom. For your convenience there is also a very nice pool, workout room, theatre, and a ramp with direct access to the beach. Every ro... Read more

This was one sweet family vacation for the beach in Texas. We've stayed in numerous hotels, VRBOs, but this was a real treat right on the beach. Family Friendly, reasonably priced, great swimming pool with game room for the kiddos. Yes sweet Jesus! It was a good stay for us.

The beach here was beautiful and clean, with no crazy crowds... gorgeous by Galveston standards. The hotel room was super clean and comfortable. And the location - you can't beat it! Was just awesome to stay right on the beach!! Nice service allowed us to check out late too :)

Wanted the best for the occasion. Booked months in advance. I was disturbed by "first come, first serve" policy. Called a week ahead to discern how to go about getting what I wanted. If need be, I would show up at 6 am for my 4pm check-in to ensure we got what we wanted. Explained what I wanted and was told they try and meet guests requests. I was told she would get me what I wanted on the fifth floor. I was told not to break my neck getting there, it would be ok. We were hit by a tornado ... Read more

From check in to the room everything was above average, from customer service to cleanliness of the room. We will return in the future. Also, love the proximity to the ocean and a little out of the way from the crowed main street giving you a little peace and quiet.

Beautiful rooms at a low price. Seemed too good to be true but it was a great place to stay. Loved how the beach connected to the pool so we didn't have to cross seawall Blvd to get to the beach! Tough to do when you have a 6 and 2 year old! Also nice that the hotel is pretty secluded. Nice and quiet

Great place on the beach! Our family has stayed here twice and will hopefully be back in the future. We booked a 2 bedroom unit and it was awesome! It was so nice having a 2nd bedroom and bathroom. Kids and parents each have their own. We didn't use the kitchen, but the washer and dryer came in very handy.

This Hotel calls is a Holiday Inn.What does a brand name mean if customer service isn't a class act?The ONLY employee there who IS a class act is Sandy, frontdesk associate. She goes about job sporting a genuine smile and genuine feelings for the guest's here . Her concern is from the heart . Her word is golden,it IS her personal integrity. She has the 3 --A's of an excellent employee , availibity , affability, and ability. The manager cannot be depended upon to be on site. He 'visits' at his conv... Read more

Drove down from Chicago with my daughter and my Dad. Showed up few hours b4 check-in and was able to get r room early, nice! Had a 1bdr deluxe, and it was very nice. We were on top floor, that was no problem with elevator, so we were able to see across the whole town, U could even see Houston! Pool and spa was well kept up and very nice. Beach access was awesome with only a short walk. Found alot of shells and crab claws, which my 6yr LOVED. Really dont have anything bad to say about r Galvest... Read more

We got a fourth floor room with a really great view. Our ice maker in the fridge was broken and we asked the front desk twice if it could get fixed (it didn't get fixed while we were there). The coffee maker didn't work the first day and we got a new one the next. Having a washer/dryer in the hallway was amazing. The bed was hard as a rock. The pool was nice, but felt small because it was (expectantly during June) crowded. The sand volleyball court needs a new net, but it was fun. There is NO re... Read more

We stayed here recently, and the property is definately more geared for families. The pool is very small for a hotel of this size, so it is always busy with a lot of kids. It is not a relaxing pool, but the kids seemed to enjoy it. It is a nice looking pool- overlooks the ocean. The room itself was fine, and the kitchen had everything you would need if you planned on making your own meals. The room and bathroom were clean, but we did noticed a potato chip stayed on the hallway floor the entire t... Read more

Great, relaxing hotel - away from all the noise & traffic of loud Seawall Urban Park. It rained while we were there but the game room (included free movies/popcorn) was a major plus & kids had a blast! We will definitely be coming back!

We stayed here for one night. It's geared more for families or for those wanting to stay longer and staying there exclusively and wanting to eat meals in the kitchenette. The beach access is great and the view from our second floor room was beautiful. The balcony was very small. There is only one mirror in the whole room. It's in the bathroom so if one person is in the bathroom and another needs to get ready there was no mirror in the bedroom to put on makeup or fix hair in. We sat out by the po... Read more

We had a 2 bedroom lockout which made it great to be together when we wanted and separate when we needed it. The beach was never crowded. We could go to the Strand or Seawall when we wanted non-water activities. Johnson Space Center was only 30 minutes away. Moody Gardens was very interesting ($5 per attraction on Senior Tuesday.) Very interesting and historical town...don't miss it by just staying on the beach!

Really nice room and overlook of the ocean. It was really clean, especially for a hotel on the beach. Is nice that they provide all the cookware needed to make meals. However, almost all of the appliances and bedding are incredibly cheap for a hotel that charges up to $350 a night. The towels and sheets are quality you could buy at Walmart for a few bucks. On top of that, one of their selling points for families is the game room that has video games, air hockey, Foosball table, and a Wii.... Read more

When we were planning this year's brief beach getaway, we came across this hotel via the IHG website. Both the Holiday Inn--On the Beach and the Holiday Inn Express touted themselves as being "beachfront," but one would still have to cross a busy street only to join the masses on the city's main beach. This hotel offered something different. It was a little outside of town, away from the business of Seawall. It had a boardwalk that led to the beach. And there was a kitchenette with utensils, a...
