The room was a pleasant surprise sort of an industrial vibe. We picked the hotel bevause of its location. Great views of ship traffic and we could watch dolphins playing . That said the breakfast is minimal but and there is no hotel restaurant but plenty of restsurants nearby

Beautiful setting. We visited in off season, so it was quiet and peaceful. Not a lot of amenities, but we were fine with that. Close to restaurants on the harbor, and the beach is not far. My husband and I would definitely recommend the Harbor House and hope to return someday.

We enjoyed truly the views out of the window and also the comfort and beauty of the room. But because of that we didn't want to have breakfast somewhere else. So we just grabbed some food and went back to the room. Unfortunately the food was really poor, even for a standard "continental breakfast". Not even some tea bags of the simplest sort (I drink hot tea usually). Location is excellent. One other thing: you cannot geta reservation in advance for a particular room. We stayed in Galveston the night before our cruise. The Harbor House is in a great location to watch the cruise ships come into port. It is also very close (walking distance) to The Strand. Very clean, nice size room, comfortable bed. It was nice that they offered safe parking for our vehicle while we were on the cruise for $10 per night. Will definitely stay again.

I chose this hotel because it was sooooo close to the cruise ships. And it is literally in walking distance. Our room had sooooo much character. The lights, chairs, sink trashcan .... everything. I loved it. I will definitely stay here again!! Also, it is close to several restaurants in walking distance.

My family enjoyed our stay at Harbor House. From our room window, we were able to see the cruise ship, boats, rigs, and sea birds busy in the harbor. We also had fun strolling around the area and watching the dolphins swim by. We didn't eat at any of the restaurants in the complex, but it was a nice option to have. It was a quick walk over to the places on The Strand, and it was also an easy drive over to Moody Gardens, Schillterbahn, the Lone Star Flight Museum.

Excellent friendly service. Room was large and bed was the most comfortable hotel bed that I have ever slept in. I have back issues and usually have trouble traveling but this bed was great. Not really into the contemporary design but furnishings were new. The only complaint that I have is the lighting. Hallways were dark and the lights in the room were difficult to figure out. We are intelligent people and it took us awhile to figure out how to get one of the lights to work so that we could rea... Read more

Harbor House is located on Pier 21 and immersed deep within all things Galveston. We parked the car when we arrived and was able to walk to any and every destination we desired! We stayed one night at Harbor House in July. The exterior is attractive and the entire facility has a nautical theme which carries through the details. I believe the most of the pier 21 group of buildings, which includes several restaurants, is under the same ownership as the hotel. Poor rating based on customer service. We just called to book the night before a cruise and was told they and their partner hotels will no longer allow one-night stays. This is unfortunate as we have stayed many times and feel this is a poor way to treat loyal guests. If you are staying for more than one night, the Harbor House is highly recommended, but they have lost our business and likely the business of other people needing a room before a cruise.

I am so excited I found this hotel! Friendly staff, clean really nice rooms. And affordable prices!! I love the decor in the rooms..the bathroom is awesome. Great location next to several restaurants. By the harbor, watching the ships. Sure beats paying high prices on the sea wall in not so great hotels. Dee was most gracious helping us. We will be back!

We stayed two nights mid week. The service at check-in was wonderful. The room was very nice! We had a wonderful view of the dock where the cruise ship was. Many food venues in the immediate area, as well as within walking distance! Parking is very close and convenient, although it was $10 per day extra, still a great bargain overall! A couple of "tourist sites" were very close by..."Maritime Museum" and Oil Rig Museum".

We were in Galveston to see my son at Texas A&M, and decided to stay somewhere we had not before. Harbor House looked very interesting, being on the water, and near so many restaurants. We were pleasantly surprised at the design of the hotel, from the dangling lights in the lobby, to the beams and woodwork in the rooms. We had booked a double queen room, but our air conditioner was struggling. When we left for dinner, I asked the front desk to check it out while we were gone. She did, and o... Read more

Honestly this is one of the best hotel stays me and my fiancé have ever had. We stayed the night before our cruise left and we had a lot to do around the hotel. The hotel itself is wonderful nice air conditioning and the front counter lady Dee was amazing. She was beyond friendly to us I will definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking to stay in Galveston :)

Harbor House was a Great Location & Great place to stay while in Galveston. We were there for the shrimp festival (delicious shrimp) Walking distance to the Strand & right on the harbor next to some good places to eat & grab a happy hour drink! Walking distance to the Tremont hotel which has a great Rooftop Bar. Loft style of rooms so you do get a Harbor House Feel. Loved the lighting in the bathrooms. Very Comfy Beds & Squishy Pillows!! Air Conditioner was blowing cold & wonderful the whole t... Read more

Located on the harbor and near The Strand, The Harbor House was perfect for our weekend activities. The room was large, and the breakfast provided was nice. The room was very modern with very comfortable beds.

Rooms are nice, with an "Art Deco" in a warehouse feel. Views are good (if you like looking at the ship channel) Parking is extra, which was a surprise but the daily fee allows for unlimited exits and returns...and you never have to worry about finding a close parking spot. It is an easy drive across the island to the beach areas. Hotel sits next to an abundance of restaurants, many of which offer some pretty good happy hour food and drink deals. Only downsides are the water pressure in the show... Read more

We stayed one night, post cruise at the Harbor House Hotel. Dee greeted us at the front desk, she took fabulous care of us! We asked for a specific room & she made sure that happened! The room was wonderful, clean, large & spacious. The bed was so comfy! The bathroom was very nice & clean! Dee was very helpful in helping us find things to do while waited for our room to be made ready as well. We can't wait for our next Galveston visit..... Harbor House has won our hearts!

Wonderful. Beds were like fluffy nests. Staff was accommodating and very friendly. I was in dire need of some serious r & r. It was quiet so I got the rest I needed. We stayed in room overlooking the harbor. It was wonderful watching the ships come in and depart. Would highly recommend.

Highly recommend Harbor House. Other than the smoke alarm going off in the middle of the night this hotel is fantastic. Friendly staff, clean room, and the location is fantastic. There is lots to see and do within walking distance of Harbor House.

Start with a receptionist at the front door named DEE, you couldn't ask for better front desk greeting. The room was very spacious and bathrooms really clean and stylish. We had the complimentary breakfast and ate at Nonnos Eatery next door. Good pizza. The location was great, we walked to the strand and Postoffice street. The only negative was the cost of parking, but dragging bags are not ideal. Overall great experience.

We stayed here prior to leaving on a cruise. I chose it because of the convenient location to the cruise terminal and being able to walk there. Having cruised before in other towns and stayed at hotels that had convenience I didn't have high expectations. This hotel is the exception. Very clean, comfortable and spacious rooms. The hotel staff was very helpful and informative. They are surrounded by restaurants of all kinds and each offers a free dessert to appetizer when you show your room card.... Read more

This was a nice stay with a Cannel view. 310 had a good view which I would think most of them do on the 3rd floor. Easy walk to excellent seafood restaurants. You're right down town also. It had to get a gulf view on the sea wall but easier here. Tip turn the ac fan on we're it's running all the time.

Room was very clean with a great view of the waterfront, Front desk was very helpful. The only problem I had was in booking on the web. When you book via the web, make sure you book directly on the Harbor House website. I failed to do this and instead of paying the $89.00 AARP rate, I paid $119.00 with no option to cancel the booked reservation. DO NOT BOOK VIA A SECOND PARTY UNLESS YOU CAN GET THE SAME RATE THAT THE HOTEL OFFERS!!!!!!!

I booked the last minute so it cost me $100 dollars. It's a nice hotel with view and location. Easy walk to Strand! They charge $10 bucks for parking each day which I wasn't told til the next morning with a receipt under the door. I'm glad I only stayed one day here. I would much rather stay at The Best Western on the East End or a hotel on the Seawall. The rooms are very dark. You can hear people in the hallway. Shower had good hot water but the water pressure was low. The next day I was hop... Read more

We stay in Galveston 5-6 times a year. This hotel is affiliated with the Wyndham group although when making reservations it is not clear. It is a small hotel located at Pier 21. They serve a continental breakfast but do not have a restaurant. There are several restaurants located within the Pier area. The rooms are quiet and clean. The hotel where we normally stay was sold out. We found out when we arrived there was a Shrimp Festival that weekend. Harbor House is easy walking distance to... Read more

We recently stayed at the Harbor House and were really impressed. The room was extra large and very accommodating. The bathroom was also big and easy to maneuver. The king bed, while a little firm, was comfortable. We were pleased with the front desk and service provided. It is in an ideal location on the harbor, one block off the Strand. The continental breakfast, while lacking in quantity, was adequate for a quick bite. Over all we were pleased with our stay at Harbor House. We booked throug... Read more

We had room 201, a corner suite for three of us that worked out nicely. The staff was friendly and helpful. The continental breakfast was very nice with plenty of everything. The bed was the most comfortable I've had outside my home. But the best thing was waking up in morning and watching the Dolphins chase and play with each other. What a way to wake up. Seriously, I can't give this too many high marks. We will definitely be back.

We enjoyed our stay at Harbor House. The rooms are so nice and have a huge bathroom. Our room was very clean. We stayed in room 310. Very nice view of the pier and bay. The staff (Destiny) was very nice and helpful. The hotel is within walking distance of the strand, Ship Elissa, The Great Storm Theater. Highly recommended and will stay here our next time to Galveston.

I was little nervous staying so close to harbor and close proximity to restaurants however our stay was very peaceful and quiet ! Room was beautifully decorated and beds are very comfy. This hotel has a flair of European boutique hotel. I certainly be back.

Harbor House was a great choice for experiencing a different side of Galveston. Our hotel window provided a bird's eye view of ships coming and going, dolphins galore, birds too numerous to count, and an awesome thunderstorm! The hotel was clean and quiet. The comfortable bed insured a good night's sleep. Breakfast was free and included pastries, cereal, and coffee. Parking was $10 per day and included in/out privileges using the room key. I've stayed in Galveston probably a dozen times over the years with my family. This trip was a bachelorette weekend with my cousin. When I was looking for a hotel, I wanted something unique, historical, local, and non-chain hotel, that was still "reasonably" priced. Harbor House was it! We enjoyed the eclectic decor, smallness (fewer guests in the hotel), and the convenience of being right on the Strand. There are so many shops, restaurants, and attractions within walking distance, and it would ... Read more

I booked on Tripadvisor and somehow they didn't give the Harbor House my phone number. We got to the hotel and they had to move us to another hotel as something happened to some rooms. The hotel they moved us to was great but we really wanted to stay at the pier. They couldn't call us since they didn't have our number but they did get us a shuttle to the other hotel.

I've stayed at the Harbor House several times over the past few months. The staff is friendly and very helpful. The hotel doesn't have its own restaurant but, there are a number of nice places to eat very close by, some of which offer something free if you show them your room key. Rooms are large and clean. I would certainly recommend it, especially for cruisers as it sits right next to the cruise terminal.

Harbor House was a nice change from the typical chain hotel. Staff was very cheerful and courteous (Dee was awesome!). The room was huge and the walk in shower was a nice surprise. Everything was clean and they were accommodating when our cruise was delayed and we needed to be able to keep the room longer. We only had one real issue. It was not clear to us where to go to park to check in. There is a sign, but the area is full of parking lots and narrow streets and even with three of us in... Read more
