We stayed at this hotel for the cruise parking package, it is well worth the price. The hotel is very clean and convenient to the port as well as the beach. The staff and room very both very good. The breakfast is a must.

The room was exceptional clean, doors to an outside balcony make smoking more convenient. The coffee is superb. Room 508 had a bit of a shower head problem and the mattress wasn't quite up to the usual standards but overall, the room and hotel were beautifully decorated, very quiet and exceptionally comfortable. The hot tub and pool were perfectly managed and very clean with sufficient tables, chairs and a lovely outdoor change/shower area.

We stayed here the night before our cruise, using their stay and cruise package. The hotel is a nice location, not on the sea wall, but just an easy walk away. The room and hotel were fine, the breakfast was exactly what you'd expect at Hampton Inn, and using their parking and shuttle service made for an easy start and finish to our cruise. I particularly appreciated that they contacted me early on the afternoon of our planned arrival to let me choose a time for the shuttle service the next d... Read more

The desk clerks were very knowledgeable and very friendly. The shuttle driver was over an hour late to pick us up from the ship. He answered the phone at the hotel and did not forward our shuttle request to the desk clerks. It took 5 calls to the hotel to get the shuttle to pick us up. Did not have a step stool to assist people to enter the van.

We booked the hotel at 11:00 PM the same evening after being flooded out of our campsite during a thunderstorm at galveston island Sate Park. We were very happy to have been able to find a vacancy on so short a notice. The room was clean and comfortable and located one block from the ocean.

Not very long stay at hotel. But close to beach access. Large rooms that had a sofa. We were next to ice machine but was not load or a problem which we were happy about Our mattress was rather lumpy so might need to fix that. Typical breakfast decent and hot. Location is great. Having fridge and microwave is nice.

Hampton Inn was very nice and clean. We stayed one night before leaving on a cruise. Front desk staff was very kind and gave us some suggestions for dinner. Location was nice and we could see the ocean from the room's balcony. Only complaints were that the elevators were quite slow (maybe just busy) and the shower drained painfully slow. Would stay again, though.

My family rented a beach house for the weekend and we ran out of beds so I had to stay here. I'm glad I did. Great location!! right next to Wal-Mart so if you want to save money and buy supplies they have a microwave and fridge which was beneficial as i stocked up on water. The King Sofabed Suite was great. I like the layout. The open space served efficient when having people over; wasn't cramped at all. Great Staff and Great Breakfast!! Will definitely stay here on purpose next time :)

The hot free breakfast was great, a little different each day. Right next to walmart for anything you forgot to pack. Right across the street from the beach...walking distance. Friendly staff. Clean. Quiet. Flaws we could find with our stay was the elevators. They were very slow, and you had to share with the maids so they would get filled fast. Dinky little pool. Room needed repainting. Furniture in room was poorly laid out. Actually had to rearrange furniture just to walk in with luggage. Patio door would not lock. Beach hotels can be like airport hotels. They've got the location, so why bother with polish? That was definitely the case here. The location of the hotel is great for walking to the beach if you want to be on the west side of the seawall strip. Very nice modern hotel with a classy feel. Right across the street from Wal-Mart, but felt safe. Some parking undercover. Not a very good ocean view on east facing windows on higher floors. Just behind another hotel that is an sea wall, so a very short walk to the beach. Short walk to 61st pier that has beer/wine for sale and a nice high observation deck for enjoying the sunset.

The staff here are very nice. I asked if they would extend my checkout time and they were very nice and worked with me. My only disappointment was that this hotel is dated and could use a face lift. The room was clean but again dated. The beds seem to be the same at Hamptons but they have went away from the soft pillow top which was the main reason we would stay at a Hampton. I wake up with a back ache every morning. I tend to like pillow top beds with my bad back. May try another hotel and see ... Read more

First thing to know is that this property is not owned by Hilton, it is a private owned franchise. The baseboards were dirty, the carpets all needed vacuumed, the carpet in our room was sticky as was the bathroom floor. There was water damage on the corner by the window, the toilet ran, the ac was just weird, mold on the wall in the corner with the leak, the TV would blink off and on, no laundry to wash out swimsuits. On the plus side, the breakfast and the beds were good. The location is great... Read more

Overall good stay. Thought property was on the beach..its not, a block away but still good. Nice view from the room's balcony but also staring at the WalMart parking lot is a detraction - had to look past it to the beautiful beach. Warmly greeted and taken care of. Room was nice but needs the old fashion scrub cleaning. I didn't mind. Wife did. Really needed to clean the AC vent (so I did). Everything worked fine. Fitness center good. The Hampton is located just off Seawall Blvd which is a 2 minute walk away. It's right across the road from a huge Walmart so that handy. My room (505) had a partial sea view over the top of other properties. The greeting at check in was friendly enough. There is good car parking including some (tight) spaces under the hotel which keep the car protected from the sun. The outdoor pool looks good as did the fitness room. I see other reviews commenting on cleanliness -I have no adverse comments ... Read more

Room was very small, GREATLY OVERPRICED. Horrible noises above us that kept us from resting, sleeping. Requested assistance from the manager who refused to assist or remedy the situation. The toilet wouldn't flush on the 1st try. The breakfast staff were very rude & literally jerked/took the coffee pot away when I was trying to pour coffee & turned out the lights

Great staff. Great overall experience. Definitely will go back. Located near beach, has pool. It is close to a lot of nice restaurants and is easy to get to. I higly recommend this Hampton Inn. If possible get room with balcony.

This hotel is clean and comfortable. Breakfast was normal fare for this type of location. The only but biggest problem is that this hotel serves many cruise goers and they only have one shuttle and it gets booked up quickly. When I went to book it, it was full for the entire day and I had to wait over an hour or a taxi as they were busy as well. Go down the street a little ways to the pier and enjoy excellent food at Jimmy's on the Pier. (see review) Does have a large Wal-Mart located across th... Read more

Hampton Inn on Central City Blvd in Galveston is a great place to stay before you leave for a cruise. Underground parking is provided for your car while you are at sea. Shuttle service delivers you to your ship the morning of departure and picks you up the day you return. Room was beautiful. Big pre-cruise plus is having a Wal-Mart across the street for those items you realize you forgot at home when you packed. Totally recommend this hotel for cruisers and those just wanting a weekend at t... Read more

This is a very good hotel choice in Galveston all things considered. Very busy place due to guests bookings the night before their cruise departure. Ample parking, friendly staff, shuttle to and from the port and a quiet location but close to the action.

The staff was wonderful and it was so easy to find and is with in walking distance of the beach. We went on a cruise and this hotel offered a package where they kept our car for the entire week in covered parking and provided transportation to and from the port. So we felt safe and stress free upon our arrival and were pleased when we returned.

We frequently travel to Galveston and have stayed at most seawall hotels. This weekend was pretty booked and we ended up here by chance. Our hotel requirements are that they at least have a sea view or what's the point? I checked in online and picked our room. When I arrived I was given a totally different room number, ok fine. Not a huge deal but I don't see the point of checking in online and picking a room number if they will just change this. The problem was, I was down graded rooms. To a no... Read more

Good hotel just better to park at terminal and spend the extra $$$ so you can get on the road instead of wait over an hour for shuttle after cruise. Breakfast was good, rooms are clean and staff nice.

When dealing with customers manage my must have Hilton's policies and the customer as first priority. Management personal opinions should not be voiced to customers. Keep the facility's appearance a main focus.

It was overall a great experience. It is in a great location, close to a lot of things. I waited a bit to check out because I prefer to check out due to a bad experience at another hotel when I did not physically check out. Other than that, it was worth the stay.

This is the second time we have stayed there prior to a cruise, and the service and rooms are great. Breakfast is included, and never had a problem at this hotel. You can walk to restaurants and the beach. Also a Walmart right across the street in case you forgot anything for the trip. Very nice, will stay there again, when I visit the area.

When your socks turn black in your room, the carpet is dirty. When your feet stick to the carpet, the carpet is dirty. When you look at the carpet and try to figure out the mystery stain, the carpet is dirty. When you see a path in the bathroom from the door to the toilet, the grout is filthy. When you see food on the walls in the breakfast room, someone should learn the term DEEP CLEANING. Used to always use Hampton, now I really don't think it is worth the money anymore. A couple of hours later, I went again & it was still a mess, in the same condition as the afternoon before. They could at least keep the public restr... Read more

Stayed one night prior to leaving for a cruise. Pamela at the front desk was the best part of staying at this hotel. Typically we like the Hampton brand but this was a great disappointment. The hotel rooms are very warn but overall the hotel was dirty. The floors were in need of vacuuming and the elevators were filthy. Didn't want to eat breakfast as the overall appearance was just poor. Very disappointed for a shabby experience for the price and brand.

We stayed at this hotel before our cruise departure and thought it would be comparable to other Hampton Inns. We had a nice room and the hotel offered a good breakfast but, it was over priced for two reasons. First it is not on the beach and second it is five miles away from the cruise terminal.
