Our second-floor room with a balcony, overlooking the pool, was clean and nice. The scent of the confederate jasmine blooming outside was wonderful. We loved the breakfast area decor- the booths were comfortable. The breakfast was varied and good.

Fredericksburg is a charming town. We wanted to stay near the LBJ ranch, "Texas White House". The hotel is a little distance from Main Street. We drove to dinner. HIE seem to be very clean and have better than average breakfasts. The staff was friendly. We were not in the room much. We went to the World War II museum and then Wild seed Farm. The area is was stunning in April with wildflowers blooming. There are also wineries nearby. This was a good hotel for the rate (AAA).

We were in town for a wedding. The location was good. Not too far from the Main Street in town and short drive to wineries. The hotel was clean. The staff was friendly. Limited parking could be a problem if coming in late. Would stay there again.

I do not know much about Fredericksburg or the surrounding area but I don't think I would stay there again. Sure we were a large group staying at the hotel (I am putting business trip as the "sort of trip" since its the closest category to our situation) but the management seemed unorganized and we had issues with the payment that still have not been resolved. I will say that the rooms were clean, beds were ok, bathroom was a little old looking. For a group I think there lobby/lounge area was re... Read more

We are IHG gold members and try to stay at Holiday Inn Express whenever one is available. They are almost always very nice, with clean and comfortable rooms, but this one is especially nice so I am giving it a rating of five instead of four. The pool area is spectacular, and the breakfast room has very nice seating - much nicer than most of the HIEs we've stayed at. The staff was friendly and helpful, and our room was perfect. The location is good - an easy walking distance to town. The bre... Read more

This is my second stay at the HI and this time it was sunny enough to use the pool! My sister and I stayed three nights for a girls weekend trip. I recommed adults bring their own beach towels because the pool towels are child size. We checked in on a Saturday, spent Sunday wine tasting around 290 and the hotel cleared out by the time we returned so we had the pool and hot tub to ourselves! Monday we relaxed at the pool and did shopping in town. If you want to enjoy Fredericksburg without kids t... Read more

My wife and I have stayed at a lot of Holiday Inns across Texas -- the good and the not so good. The Fredericksburg Inn is, quite simply, the most attractive Holiday Inn that we have seen. They have a beautiful outdoor pool area, with a large Texas-style pool (including hot tub, gentle egress areas, slides, and a waterfall). The surrounding deck has myriad seating areas, two firepits, and (in the morning) a fair collection of songbirds. Interestingly and unusually, the pool area was hopping w... Read more

We really enjoyed our stay at the Holiday Inn Express and Suites in Fredericksburg. The hotel was much nicer than I expected. Very clean and modern. The pool was AMAZING! Great for kids and adults. breakfast was pretty good. The coffee could have been stronger. it was walking distance to Main Street but not the best walk. Most of it had a sidewalk but there was a portion that didn't and it's a pretty busy street. it would be tricky with little kids in tow. That was the only slight negative... Read more

Great location, pool and front desk staff. Very accommodating to our needs. My family could not stay away from the pool. Very quiet hotel. Our only complaints: our first room had a smell that was a little overwhelming when first entering the room and the cleaning staff did not replace the used toiletries and coffee. This is easily corrected with a call to the front desk. We will definitely select this location on our next visit.

We were not disappointed with this hotel. Everything was just right. The hotel is clean, has great service and a lovely pool and hot tub. Breakfast was nice with lots of choices. We usually pick Holiday Inn Express when traveling and this one is amongst the best. Just here for one night. It is a bit pricey but worth the extra cost. We definitely recommend this hotel.

This is a gem of a hotel. Stayed here twice now. The pool is fantastic. The only feedback that I have for them (and many hotels), is get hide-a-beds that are worthy of sleeping on!! (my poor brother didn't sleep because he kept rolling to the middle of the bed, and there were hard springs in the mattress), and make sure the kitchen folks don't start putting food away 30 minutes before breakfast is over. I actually engaged in an mild argument with an employee as she started putting the breakf... Read more

We were working at the Pacific War Museum's next exhibit, and needed an overnight stay to finish the next day. This was a very relaxing stay. It was not during a vacation, so the hotel had plenty of vacancy. The pool area was so cool, and the front desk lady came out and lit the fire-pits just for me and my co-worker. We were just having some beers by the pool and hot-tub, and that made the experience so much better. I'll upload pics too. Beds were comfortable. We have more work at the m... Read more

Definitely an upgrade from the Bed & Breakfast we stayed at from last visit to Fredricksburg!! Room was super clean and comfortable. LOVED he balcony overlooking the beautifully designed pool area. Pool and hot tub were great. Breakfast was wonderful. Definitely a family place to stay. Although I went with some girlfriends for a weekend getaway, away from kids, there was still pool space for grown ups. Staff were very friendly and helpful. This will be first choice next trip to Fredricksburg!

The clerk told me that it was available. I accepted and he gave me a confirmation number. When we arrived, we we shocked to find that the requested room was not available. The clerk had made an error and given us a hearing impaired room although the word hearing was never discussed when I made the reservation. I suggested that an allowa... Read more

I have stayed at the hotel twice now and it's now my hotel of choice in Fredericksburg. It can be difficult to book on the weekends, so plan ahead. Good choices for breakfast in the mornings in their breakfast area. The pool area is by far the nicest in the area, it's truly a resort type pool. The staff has always been very helpful.

The hotel is located in a great area, just a quick walk down the road to the Main St which is full of restaurants and shops. Had a friendly welcome from the staff who explained what the hotel had to offer and also a few good tips for shopping, eating and a little indulgence in a good drop of wine. There are some nice rooms in this hotel overlooking the pool, but arriving in the dark, we did not know until the next day. I booked a "suite" which is just a big room. Overlooks the parking lot, nothing special 1940's looking furniture. The bed, though was the worst -- had springs sticking out of it and yes I complained, nothing was done. Spent a bad night waking with my back hurting. The breakfast was really good though, more than most hotels, with good biscuits and sausage, eggs, muffins,... Read more

We travel often and let me tell you, while Holiday Inn is our go-to hotel during our trips, we've been so disappointed in the past few locations we've stayed in. This was our first trip to Fredericksburg and we planned it at the last minute, so hotel pickings were slim. This chain hotel just on the edge of town may lack the character of some of the more historic or traditional offerings that litter Fredericksburg but it is very new, comfortable, quiet and well appointed, and there are no surprises.
