Holiday Inn Express is my go to hotel. I stay at hundreds of them across the country. I will never stay at this one again. The security door out the back didn't lock. The pool smelled bad, was steamy like a sauna, and had the back door propped open (more security holes). The shower curtain was mildewed. The shower water temperature was up and down, mostly down. The service was ho-hum. It was out of town and difficulty to access. The people on the hallways were loud late into they night (I think ... Read more

This is a nice Holiday Inn Express with the typical amenities - nice hot breakfast, nice lobby, clean and updated room. We had consistent problems with the internet and hotel staff seemed uninterested in helping. The pool was small and often crowded, but the hot tub was nice right before closing after all the kids had left. Our room was very dark - no overhead lights and no good place to sit and read or have strong lighting. This hotel can be hard to find - our GPS took us all the way around... Read more

First, the positive. The staff is friendly and attempts to be helpful. The decor is very pleasant (except for the hideous carpet in the hallways). But the A/C wouldn't adjust, so I was hot all night long. The room had a huge spiderweb in the corner by the desk--not one that could develop overnight. The coffeemaker--a Keurig, which should have been wonderful--wouldn't heat the water. And finally, the WiFi didn't work in my room. I went down to the lobby to try to resolve it, but the girl, altho... Read more

The hotel is convenient and comfortable but is in serious need of upkeep and maintenance. Furniture is badly worn and I'm some places tattered. Crude plaster patches on walls show where needed maintenance has been deferred. Very good breakfast buffet and service. All in all a good one night stay.

I have stayed at this hotel twice this past year on business,,,,,,my employer books the rooms......but in January we had no soap, no shampoo, no tissues (had toilet paper), and when I went to the desk, they apologized and said they'd run to Wal Mart. Both me and my co-worker were Priority Club members; no paper at our door like almost every other door on the floor. The internet didn't work at all on the third floor. I am a regular user of exercise equipment, except the treadmill was out of or... Read more

The friendly staff makes the stay here enjoyable. I used this hotel for an event this year and the hotel was very accommodating and affordable for my group. Every time I asked the staff members for something, I had it within minutes. In the past, I've stayed at places that has poor customer service and friendly and accommodating staff really makes a difference in your overall hotel experience.

I look for an HI Express everywhere in America I travel. I know I'm going to have a good-sized, comfortable, attractive room with a wonderful bed, a good complimentary Internet connection, good TV, an attractive lobby, and a good, warm, complimentary breakfast. This HI express did not disappoint, and the staff were exceptionally friendly and interested in our experience.

I can't say enough about the staff if this facility. Our son was getting married here in the Denton area and we are from Alabama. We had so much to do to get ready for the dress rehearsal dinner and the staff here bent over backwards in every way to help our day be a very successful one! They even let us borrow pens and scissors for the preparation and dinner itself! I highly recommend stopping here!

All was well with this hotel during our stay except when I checked in , I was told at that time the hotel charges a $25 fee which would be charged to my credit card and, if after I checked out and the maids checked the room and nothing was missing from the room, the $25 would be credited/refunded. I don't think I look like a thief but that was the implication. So, how does a guest know what is supposed to be in the room at check in and you are apparently at the hotel's mercy as to what was "miss... Read more

I booked a room with a king size bed with Holiday Inn for a single night for my husband and I the Friday night prior to Father's day. When we checked into the room the carpet was soaking wet from the outer wall where the a/c unit was located all the way to the bed. When we packed our luggage back down stairs we were told there were no other rooms available, however they couldn't refund our money. Eventually a room was found, with two queen beds not a king and the discount we were initially giv... Read more

My mom, myself and my 4 year old son were traveling to Denton from San Antonio to visit my great grandma. I originally tried to book this hotel when we planned the trip, but they did not have any employee rates at the time (I work for an IHG property in San Antonio) so my cousin suggested the Super 8 since it would be cheap and right down the street from my Aunts house. We booked it without looking too much into it. As we pulled up, it was a questionable place with a sign on the door that said "... Read more

The good news outweighs the bad by a long-shot to be sure! First the good: Location. Perfect for us, as my daughter was having a baby at the Presbyterian Hospital 10 minutes away. This Holiday Inn Express is easy to find coming from DFW, and its only about 30 minutes from DFW. Staff. Friendly and knowledgeable about the area in and around Denton. Everyone I came in contact with was friendly and helpful. Breakfast Bar: Delicious. Also has a fairly wide selection including eggs, pastries, ... Read more

The hotel is in a good location, if it weren't for road construction. They can't help that. Denton is a great community with lots of fun things to do. This hotel is pretty close to the square - about a 10 minute drive. The hotel is well kept and clean. The only negatives I would say are that the toilet made a loud noise, but I did not report it. The room was quite large and clean. The bed was outstanding.

Internet did not work. Back door was propped open with a rock and wires for the keypad were sticking out of the frame. Refrigerator did not work and had to be replaced. Front girl had no clue how the point system worked. Bonus points for the stay were not recorded and I had to go through a dispute process. Preferences were made at the time of the reservation. None of the preferences were acknowledged. Weird way to get to the hotel if entering from North I-35.

We had a nice room that had good amenities, refrigerator, a great breakfast, and overall a really good stay! We had a couple minor room maintenance issues, which we brought up to the front desk & they really took concern with us having any problems & made it right. This is how a hotel should be run!

This hotel is in a rough looking part of town, they squeezed it in by a La Quinta and some Super Save hotel. Nothing in walking distance at all. We're a platinum level, so they upgraded us to a nice suite. The room was very nice. But the workout room was not available, so you had to walk to the La Quinta to workout. Not sure about the pool, call first if you're planning on pool time. The staff was nice. The faculty is nice, just the wrong part of town.

I stay at HIX a lot for work as I travel. Megan the front desk rep deserves a mention for being a happy soul and welcoming after a long day. Gave a good suggestion to eat that night at a local restaurant in this college town.

The location is not the easiest to get too. You have to go the back streets around towards the back of the building to get to it. The receptionist/front desk very friendly. The room was OK, but really I've had better Holiday Inn's. The beds were a little hard and the hallways smelled. The tub area had some paint coming off the paint wall (kinda old) although taking a shower was comfortable so no big deal. If your going to visit TWU they offer a discount rate so it's worth the stay and not too fa... Read more

Smalls things seem to count a lot. The hotel actually had a good smell (I hate when it smells like an institution), rooms were clean, beds were comfortable, and the a/c was great. The only negative I have if anything was the internet (WiFi). It was very poor in my room (2nd floor near elevator). The connection kept dropping and when it was connected, checking email was tedious at times. Overall though, it was a very pleasant experience.

We live in a society where hospitality and ownership is often spoken of but is hardly ever delivered. I have traveled the world and in all my travels i would rank the guest service holly delivered on my recent business trip to Denton, as not only a top tier associate who embodies the true meaning of hospitality, but someone who represents the IHG brand with class and professionalism. I'm not sure if the management team in Denton knows about the Rock Star they have but make sure you guys take ca... Read more

We had a suite for 2 nights. It's perfectly fine; very close to I-35E S and extremely clean, with a big, comfy bed. We slept like we were earning money while we were at it. The best part though, honestly, was Megan at the front desk. Super friendly, super helpful. Holiday Inn, I don't know where you found her, but offer her some stock to stay. You don't want to lose her. I have 2 small recommendations - check the water pressure in 209 - it was low, but doable. And, was that room missing a soap ... Read more

Spent 3 nights at the Holiday Inn Express in Denton, TX. Great location, very clean and comfortable rooms, strong WIFI which is a plus and best of all super friendly people throughout! The front desk staff was courteous and quick with the check in. The breakfast area folks were polite and helpful. Great stay all around...I'll be back for sure!

The staff, rooms, beds, breakfast, all great! The front desk staff were especially friendly, prompt, and helpful, especially Antonio and Megan. Outstanding staff that are genuine & personable. They are always ready and willing to go out of their way to help me (and other guests) with anything I needed or requested. (From the front desk to the ladies that cleaned the room!) I've been staying at this hotel for 3 months so far, a couple of nights a week, and they have made my stay very pleasant and comfortable.

Things that were great: Hotel staff - fantastic and very friendly. Facility/room - very clean; breakfast - good Things in need of improvement: The noise level from the trucks passing on the highway nearby was very loud and made it difficult for me to fall asleep ...and I was on the 4th floor! Also, both of my colleagues who were on two different floors complained they heard their neighbors walking and talking.
