This hotel has it Right. Everything was perfect, from the very first phone call to make reservations, to the check-in process, the cleanliness of the rooms, comfort and size of room, breakfast and then check-out. This hotel EXCEEDED my expectations!

I arrived close to midnight, but I was still greeted with a smile. There was a baseball tournament in town, and I was encouraged to report if there was excessive noise near my room; thankfully, there was not. The room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast had lots of selections. Check-out was quick and easy.

We have stayed at this location several times and have never been disappointed in the comfort of the rooms or the kind service of the staff. The room, bathroom and beds are always clean, well stocked with linens, soap etc. We most recently stayed in a king suite that offered more surface space for computer users with adequate electrical outlets plug to in all the tech devices we travel with. The breakfast has adequate variety to please and satisfy all our family members(some very picky). Pool/... Read more

Ohmagosh - we had a wonderful stay for a wedding. The staff was fantastic to help us get in, comfy and made sure our stay was nothing short of spectacular. The ac had a minor drip but its June in Texas - theres humidity out the wazoo - nothing we couldn't work around and Melissa at the front desk made sure we were happy with our rooms and gave us a couple of options to pick from. This hotel is nice, rooms very big and food is very good for free breakfast. That being said I wouldn't say the staff is the most friendly but they are pleasant. The location is right off the highway but is the noise is not too loud. The side view from the hotel looks out onto some plains with a old oil pumpjack closeby, classic western theme and a nice photo op.

Room was clean. The bed was very very comfortable. We had a great night's sleep. I know the hotel was very full the night we stayed, but it still seemed to be very quiet in our room. The only "bad" thing was a fairly large place on the wall that was all scratched up and needed to be painted (an easy fix). Breakfast area was large with comfortable seating. It also seemed to accommodate a lot of people for eating. Breakfast setup seemed to be very spacious, clean, and easy to get around. Y... Read more

Just suffice it to say that all aspects get 10s--maybe a 9 or two, but that's quibbling. It's a clean establishment with a caring, conscientious staff. Access to the hotel is a little tricky, unless you're coming in from the north on Hwy 287, but from the south, a U-turn at 380 Loop a little beyond the hotel, will get you going in the right direction to turn right in.

Enjoyed our stay here with a few minor glitches. First off it is hard to get to if you aren't familiar with highway access road entry only; thought we could access from other roads but it is located in a closed lot; not very convenient to have to drive hwy, exit, get back on hwy to reach. Parking lot was not huge but very adequate, no parking problems at all. The facility itself is super clean, well maintained with flowering shrubs which always adds to a nice decor. We stopped over night on our way back home. The hotel was clean and our room was spacious . Breakfast was good, the typical Hampton inn breakfast selection . My only complaint is we were on the first floor and apparently the people above us has kids... Heard running and jumping until late in the evening and first thing in the morning. The doors and pretty sturdy so when someone closes their door it sounds like it's being slammed. Otherwise a nice stay.

I am handicapped. Asked for accessible room. Nice room but toilet is a disaster. So low your knees are up to your chest. It takes your full strength to pull yourself up from the toilet. I have no shoulders because of rotator cuff injury gone so bad. I had to head in to sit on the toilet...not pretty. Hampton really needs to reevaluate the height of their toilets at this location.

Traveling from NOLA to the west coast is tough. I have been taking the 40 instead of the 10. The last time I went west I tried to stretch it out and stayed in Witchia Falls. Yuck. Gross city. After Rush hour in Dallas I figured I would give Decatur a try. Small, quiet, clean town about an hour less of a drive. It has everything and is less seedy. The staff was extremely helpful and this is a safe area.

The title pretty much sums up my review. It is a Hampton Inn (so I believe it is an average hotel chain -- not a budget hotel, but not a 4-5 star property), and this one meets all expectations. The room and common areas were clean and had all the Hampton amenities, the property was was well-maintained and well-managed, and it met all my expectations. For the price I paid, it may have actually been a bit above average, but I can only rate with the scale I have.
