The Adolphus Hotel is absolutely the finest hotel I have stayed in in a long time. It is beautifully furnished and so comfortable. I even loved the elevator. It was all beautiful wood and mirrors. Wow! We called for someone to come up and open our bottle of wine and they were there in minutes! What great service. I would highly recommend this hotel for anyone who wants a top notch experience.

This is a comfortable room for two people. I would suggest to get a high floor. We stayed on 22 (23 is the top or the penthouse) facing North which overlooked a few rooftops with pools. Very quiet - we stayed at far end of the hallway away from the elevators. Mattress, pillows, and comforter were all great. The living room portion has a comfortable couch but no window and it is separated from the bed by a wall. The room has two TVs which was a nice a touch. Bathrooms have Kohler fixtures and... The hotel is wonderful for romantic occasions. The lobby, facade and elevators are original. For example, the wood paneling in the lobby and the elevators seemed original and they had a display of all the original room keys at the front desk. We had a great suite with King Bedroom, Sitting Room and Bath. Everything was updated and modern, and there was a mini-fridge for our drinks. The lobby furniture is for sale, the bar stools have already been sold and the restaurant is now closed. I'm sure that the changes will be fabulous when completed though. There will be a pool too. This hotel is honestly very average with an expensive price tag to stay here. What this hotel is more of is a part of history. On the 19th floor it has ghost which is what the talk is about here. The housekeeping at the property is below average and they tend to skip cleaning parts of the room and shower and leaving previous guest shampoo which is used in the shower. They also love to wake people up when you have a do not disturb sign on the door. The location on the other hand is great!

The hotel is under construction. However, this hotel still portrays elegance. The rooms were renovated and they are really worth every penny. The room I stayed at was spacious. Comfy bed. Nicely decorated too. Location is also ideal. There are parking lots close to the area which are cheaper compared to the hotel's rate. Restaurants are within walking distance. It's also close to Neiman Marcus. The staff were very nice too. They're very polite. Checking in and out were without hassle. I would de... Read more

Adolphus has been an institution in Dallas for as long as I can remember. Currently they are going through an extensive remodel at the hotel; so we weren't able to go to the French Room. However, the pool bar and pool area as well as the workout facilities are well maintained and enjoyable. The rooms are possibly a bit small by today's standards, but they are comfortable and well appointed. What truly makes the Adolphus though are the people working there. Everyone we came in contact was courteo... Read more

The renovation of the property is incredible. This is old school meets modern times and I love it! The room decor and look is amazing and you definitely want to check out the rooftop pool on the 7th floor. Great way to relax for a few hours in the afternoon. The only knock I have is the food at the property. I ordered room service twice and ate at the Rodeo bar, and average is about as good as I can say. Not sure if they make their own soups or not, but what I had tasted very much like the st... Read more

We visited for a wedding in the hotel, which was beautiful. Apart from the lobby being under construction, the rooms were incredibly spacious and the beds were so comfortable. Thr pool deck is amazing and the gym is awesome. The staff was wonderful, so wonderful that they cut our bill in half when we told them that we had not hot water in our room. A pricey hotel but I would stay again!

The complete renovation of this historic hotel puts it at the top of my list for Dallas hotels. Great location, rooms with TWIN king beds available, and reasonably priced for such a luxury hotel. Staff has always been super!

I stayed at this hotel for four nights on a business trip. Location is exceptional and service is very good. Valet works relatively well, just keep in mind you'll need to allow 10+ minutes at rush hours. The reception desk is very welcoming and the staff extremely attentive. There are some issues with check in, when you use some external sites as Hotel Tonight, but it is understandable. The newly opened pool terrace is amazing. You can just go there, sit, relax and have something to drink in a v... Read more

Let me preface by saying The Adolphus Hotel is NICE..even if it's under construction. But that is part of the major issue I had with respect to the service. One would think the hotel would go above and beyond in terms of service to make up for what they currently lack due to construction. Unfortunately, this was not the case. The most stark example was in the department of housekeeping. Having stayed 2 nights, I excepted a certain level of promptness with respect to housekeeping. Leaving the ho... Read more

The new remodel is AMAZING!!! We have been staying here every summer for the past 9 years, and I am thrilled with the update and pool!!! Can't wait to see how the rest turns out!!! Just be careful as we are human! I don't know how it could have been detected, but my daughter found a razor blade on the floor with her finger as she was searching for an earring! Small cut and all is good, just glad it wasn't a young child that found it! Also wish the shower would get cooler.....

Room was spacious, comfortable and modern. There was a weird structural pillar in the middle of the room that made TV viewing a little challenging at times, but it was not a major detractor. Staff was friendly and helpful. Valet parking only ($28/day). Easy walking distance to lots of restaurants, in addition to the folksy bar/saloon/restaurant on premises. Short distance from Dallas Love airport and also from SMU campus & George W. Bush library.

This is my 2nd time here, I loved it the first time so I booked again. The vintage feel is awesome, this time I saw more of the remodeling and my room was wonderful. It's like Vegas in Dallas. The staff is quick to help with the doors, holding your stuff, getting your car quickly. Pool is open now and beautiful. Fitness is open also. Still under remodeling in some parts but I'm sure the final result will be amazing. 24 hour free wifi, then you can resign up for another 24 hour free daily. I have... Read more

This is a very cool, old place. It reminds me of the Waldorf Astoria in NYC. It is a little dated, but they are working on it. Classy lobby bar. Traditional breakfast. Reasonable cost. Stay here for a bit of history before someone buys it, modernizes it and jacks up the price.

We were pleased with our huge room that had two comfortable king sized beds. The historic hotel is under renovation in the lobby and reception areas, but it was never noisy or disturbing in any way. We loved the 7th floor rooftop pool and bar! It had great food and drinks! There were several nearby restaurants and shopping within walking distance also. I'm sure the hotel will be even better once the renovation is complete. I did miss the beautiful historic lobby from last time we were there, and... Read more

Beautiful historic hotel under yet another renovation. Beware of the renovation deal as it makes check in long and confusing. Be sure to ask for the deluxe executive suites everything else is like staying in one of the hotels the Griswold's stayed in the movie European Vacation. We did not get the room we asked for in advance so my wife had to go keep looking for bigger rooms with a desk agent. Kevin the bell hop was awesome. The crew working the door were informative when questioned about where to eat and how too get there. Check in/out was fast and easy. Room was large, clean and more than expected. I had to visit Dallas for four days and loved my stay at the Adolphus. The rooms have recently been renovated and the hotel is beautiful. The weather wasn't great during my stay so I didn't get to use the pool, but I did sit up there for a few minutes while there was a break in the rain and it was gorgeous. I am quite wary when it comes to the cleanliness of hotel rooms, and thankfully my room fit the bill. The staff was so friendly and helpful as well. I would stay at the Adolphus again in a he... The 7th floor pool area is very nice in the late evening for drinks and snacks. Unfailingly attentive staff at all levels. We hosted a lunch for 50 as well as a meeting room---all professionally done making us look good in return

A charming hotel with great amenities and service. Newly renovated, the double king rooms are enormous and served well for business team meetings. The pool terrace restaurant was a mini-retreat to the end of a long work-day but would have been better if bar service remained open longer.

Just had my second visit to the Adolphus. Won't be my last. Ended up there almost accidentally in April. Went there by choice this time. Great location right in downtown Dallas close to everything. Rates are always reasonable. And the facilities are spectacular. Elegant common areas in lobby with a very unique old world feel/charm. Rooms are all amazingly updated with tons of space, and beautifully decorated. Feels more like a city apartment than a hotel room. Service and quality... Read more

This hotel is stunning (pool area and hotel room). The lobby areas and elevator could be updated..... Looks like these areas may already be under construction. Loved my room of was perfect, size, layout, comfort etc. only issue I want to note is that my room had a slightly opening at the bottom. I am a very Loud talker so I was concerned of passersby could hear my conversation. I was only hear one night and alone so I overlooked... It is amazing what the Adolphus has accomplished in one year. I stayed there on business in Sep 2015 and again this year Sept 2016. I didn't recognize my room. Very nice renovation and a great value. The 7th floor exercise room and rooftop pool, bar, lounge (with food service) was a grande surprise.

We had a wonderful stay at the Adolphus. My 94 year old mother stayed there 60+ years ago. She had such fond memories. She was not disappointed. The staff was very accommodating to us. The room renovations are beautiful and so comfortable. We had 4 generations on this visit. The 4th being our grand dog. The hotel is very pet friendly with 2 dog parks just a short walk away. We look to returning next fall and having dinner in the newly renovated French Room.

I visited this hotel as part of our company room block. Historic hotel right across from ATT headquarters is convenient however hotel is older and undergoing renovations. My room was newly upgraded however it took me extra time (5+ minutes) to catch an elevator ride down to main lobby as they are smaller and not up to date.

the staff tried to remedy confusion and problems at check-in. We were checked into a dirty room. Room service ends at 10 pm. The elevators were not all functioning creating long lines. Hall wall trash was not picked up overnight. It is a hotel on decline but appears to be trying to improve. There was a noticeable lack of management. I don't see us returning.
