This place is kind of funky, but my wife and I like to stay there. It's old and run down, but the new owners seem to be fixing it up, slowly. The rooms are clean enough and the people couldn't be nicer. There are basically no amenities. There is a pool and a tiny coffee shop. As bad as it is, it is cheap and in a great location. It is one block from First Friday, half a block from Crawdaddy's and a few blocks from Mama Mia's. All the Water Street restaurants are an easy walk. We started ... Read more

We are here for 4 nights in a school trip. We have booked 6 room spent over $3,000 dollars only to find rooms have roaches, water bugs and even a spider in one bed, don't think your taking a relaxing bath there are no tubs, there isn't even a counter to put a hairbrush on. The lobby/eating/meeting "atrium" area is no less than 80°. Don't get me started on the Continental breakfast. It's toast, plain bagel or your choice of cereal. . Don't go looking for any protein or fruit on this breakfast ta... Read more

nothing impressive, a little dirty but you get what you pay for, the parking you had to pay for was not explained up front and if you are on a budget it can throw your budget a bit off. the manager was VERY rude and sarcastic to a guest in front of me it was embarrassing for the guest and made the manager look bad. the ice machine was broken on our floor the rest of the staff was OK not sure if i would stay here again or not maybe if there was nothing else because the location is good.

I was expecting this hotel to be very basic. Basic I can live with, this was beyond terrible. The cost for this hotel was over $200 per night plus a $10 parking fee and a $30 pet fee. Given that I stayed the weekend, I thought this fee was acceptable. However, the hotel failed to provide basic amenities ie a place to sleep or a place to shower. Confused? Let me explain. The fire alarm was going off in my room from 1AM-7:00AM. The alarm would beep for 5 seconds every 30 minutes. It incre... Read more

DON'T STAY HERE! Terrible service and the rooms are horrible! Window units! COME ON MAN!. Window units too small to cool the room. The TV didn't work, no towels, no toilet paper and we had to wait until 5pm to get in since the rooms were being cleaned; guess they forgot room 501! They lost my reservation and I had to book a more expensive room; guess that's how they sell the most expensive rooms. Furniture in the room needs replacement; the whole room needs to be modernized! My wife and I stayed in one of the suites overlooking the bay, the room was nice. Although some areas of the hotel needed some updating our room seemed to have been renovated nicely. Staff was friendly at check in and there are a lot of good bars and restaurants in walking distance. Would come back and stay again.

It is an older hotel with alot of character. The front desk was very accomadating and very helpful. We will definately be back.

My husband surprised us and booked a weekend family vacation, and once I read the reviews to this hotel I was very nervous. Lots of talk about roaches, dirty rooms and horrible customer service. When we arrived we were all pleasantly surprised. No bugs, the rooms were very cleaned, and there was free cotton candy and popcorn in the lobby. The bathroom was very outdated but it was still liveable. I would definitely recommend and will return.

We reserved a 2 room suite with 4 queen beds and 1 bath. It was a corner room. One window faced the city and had a great view of the light up bridge and the other room had a view of the bay and marina. Beautiful all around. The beds and pillows were extremely comfy. The bathroom is a tad small and the sinks in the bathroom and in the rooms are bowl sinks on top of counters making it difficult to wash your hands. We needed a place to stay for a sports tournament over 4th of July weekend. The staff could not have been nicer. Daniel who greets you as you pull up was very helpful and the ladies at the front desk were very sweet. They offered free cotton candy and drinks for the kids upon arrival (not sure if that is normal) Parking looks a little sketchy, but we spent two nights and nothing happened to the cars. We only paid $99/night because of an online deal, so the price was right for a holiday weekend. ... Read more

The best I can say about this hotel is the staff was always kind and courteous. Upon arrival we were informed they only do a full room cleaning every other day, light cleaning on the off days. If you need a full cleaning on a light day there was a six dollar charge. They didn't always do the light cleaning. We were there for six nights. Get to the room and the toilet was running continuously. Took two phone calls to finally get it fixed. The bathroom sink was held in place by a metal stra... Read more

I read the reviews about the roaches. I watched the episode of Hotel Impossible where this hotel was featured. But not until after I had booked this hotel and if I cancelled I would've been hit with a cancellation fee. So quite naturally I was expecting the worst. But to my surprise the room was clean and didn't have any roaches or bugs. I liked the layout of the inside with all the balconies. The staff was nice and friendly. I was happy with my stay. Housekeeping staff needs to be taught how to clean, other peoples leftovers were still in mini fridge, people's socks were on the floor in the dining area from night before, continental breakfast consisted of stale doughnuts and muffins, pool area was a hazard with high chunks missing from the pool steps, indoor/outdoor carpet was coming up in several places, pool was outside on the second floor, safety concrete fence was crumbling in spots.

Our room was super hot and when the front desk was called no solution was offered. Our bedding was clean and the room was dusted but the walls and baseboards were all dirty and we had roaches in our room, which was very upsetting and again, no solution was offered. There was also just one elevator going both up and down which took forever and was the only option for those of us with two strollers. The only reason we stayed in our room was because it was booked and paid for for us, otherwise we... Read more

Made reservations through booking.com for this hotel earlier this morning. I thought that it was economically priced and centrally located. I walked in the lobby and noticed a stench of mildew, perhaps. Spoke with nice gentlemen and received the key. We proceeded to our room. The front door was not in the best shape and the antiquated key (a nice touch) was difficult to open. As my family and I walked in, the smell hit once more. I pulled back covers on one bed and saw blood, pulled back ... Read more

1 elevator for 10 floors of tourists so you'll wait on average 10-15 minutes to go up or down. Housekeeping is one entire family so when you have a 12 yr old boy clean your room it isn't exactly sanitary. If you want to be close to the boats but live in a literal roach motel than this is the place for you!

The whole hotel was filthy. Cockroaches everywhere. Staff was horrible as was the breakfast. Don't even think about asking for extra towels or blankets & that free Wi-Fi? Only if you're on the first 7 floors. The hot water was intermittent & the maintenance worker was not someone I wanted in our room. Do yourself a favor & pay more to stay somewhere else.
