My sister and I chose this hotel and location because it is on the beach. She spoke several times with customer service before, because of some changes. The original "family room" she had booked was under construction. Customer service told us we would have an ocean front room, then put on the reservation notes side view. To be fair, she did email my sister regarding the side view, but she didnt get that email until after we checked in. Now, side view is nice, but no balcony, and you can't ope... Read more

After reading the reviews both negative and positive I decided to make my own opinion of this hotel. Our stay was wonderful! It is right on the beach with everything at your fingertips. They have 2 pools with a hot tub within steps of the sandy beach. They have a restaurant and bar inside as well as a nice beach bar on the outside with nightly music that ends by 10 to not disturb its guests. They are in the middle of remodeling with great color schemes and coordination. The service by the room k... Read more

Arrived to hotel, easy access....carts for luggage were readily available....we arrived 2:00, checking was not until 4 so went to outside bar/patio...margaritas were 7.50 each which I thought were pricey...but they were very good....the view of the ocean/beach was very nice/peaceful.....we got a text that room was ready about 3:00.... Room was. Nice size...had fridge and microwave.....coffee pot was dirty.....the hotel has 2 elevators but only one was working the 3 days we were there. ... Read more

I like this place! It is the only hotel on the beach in North Padre Island and it has an outdoor pool and outdoor hut that has a full service liquor bar. It is just over the bridge from Corpus Christi-15 minute drive. I believe the bar also serves food-but everyone said the food wasn't that good at the hotel so we didn't eat at the hotel. We were in room 622(dbl queen) that overlooked the parking lot, pool, and beach. Perfect room for us! Nice view! Updated Décor with modern hues. Nic... Read more

Best (and almost only) place to stay directly on the beach. Recently renovated; new colors look very nice. Elevators are small; a service elevator can be used for the suitcase cart. Two washers and dryers but plan accordingly - seems that these are in use often in beach areas. Outdoor bar and pool are nice. Sea wall can be used for skateboarding, etc. Sand on the beach is great for sandcastles! Lots of beach.

When I booked directly with this hotel I booked a 2 rooms. One I expressly asked for a ocean view with balcony and that it must be no higher than 3rd floor, preferable 2nd. I picked this hotel so that I could sit on balcony and look out on the ocean. I was told no problem that my room would be on 1st, 2nd or 3rd. I called the day of arrival to notify of time of arrival. I was told it was on the 4th floor. I reminded the person of the promise of less than 4th floor. I was then told they w... Read more

Spent two nights at this beach front hotel and we were lucky enough to get a side sea view which is amazing and you can see for miles down the coast. I think there are rooms right at the front which have balconies but they are in high demand! We haven't been to this hotel or area before but the hotel has obviously had some very recent renovations. The room was not that spacious but of a decent size. All the linens and curtains were new and fresh and of colours that reflected the sea view. The w... Read more

Well it was perfect for our one night. Lots of kids! We had room 310. It was nice good bedding and fluffy pillows. The chairs were very good on the balcony. The surf is just right there. Now that we are getting older we just love to sit and watch the waves and people. You could hear the ocean. Not many shells that day. The pools were usually filled with children but there were times you could have it to yourself. 2 hot tubs and a restaurant and bar. We did the restaurant for dinner and it was g... Read more

Holiday inn we've been going there for years, finally stopped now doing gulfstream Down the street. The elevator is tiny. No breakfast offered. Rooms are outdated. Tvs and channels are dated. The two pools overlooking the ocean is worth a 5 star that's it You do have to suffer thru the LOUD OUTDATED music forever being played and subject your children to people who drink too much it's an open bar sad. Honestly, holiday Inn is a corporate that has never disappointed me before... Well, this one did. Remodel is cheap and really badly done. Even on things like elevators where they are supposed to be safe you can notice the bad cover ups and repairs. i don't think they are finished anyway because we actually had to change rooms in one evening because the bathroom zinc was clogged and actually overflowing with dirty water and dark stuff (yuck) after calling 3 times, with no repair service sent..... We booked a "beach view" room through a third party vendor and the hotel gave us a room with a full view of the parking lot and partial or side view of the ocean, no balcony. They first blamed the third party vendor, then tried to distinguish a "beach" view from an "ocean" view, and then later said they don't offer their ocean view rooms through third parties. They couldn't move us because the hotel was fully booked. The hotel was constructed in a way to limit the actual ocean view rooms to a s... Read more

We booked online for Sunday, May 15 through Wednesday, May 18. There was a water ban during that time for the City of Corpus Christi. While we realized that the ban was not the hotel's fault and they provided bottled water, we were not given an email update or communicated with beforehand so it was a total disappointment once we got there. The beach location is excellent, the bar was great and proximity to local restaurants was spot-on. But they could have done better about the water situati... Read more

Stayed here two nights. Staff was very friendly and very accommodating. Hotel is somewhat dated, but our room was very clean. The location cannot be beat! There are two swimming pools which is nice that the smaller kids have their own. Live bands in the evening. Elevators are slow and small, but who cares, you're at the beach! Relax!

I've stayed at this hotel on the island multiple times over several years, sometimes in the summer and others in the winter. This place is always trying to get better but sometimes missing the mark in what people would like to have improved. This last time, they had completely renovated their lobby and the rooms with new carpets, linens, drapes. A welcome change from the last time there. The hallways were also updated. I do love the location of this hotel. You can walk right on to the beach. The pool bar always has a fun band playing and great bartenders. The hotel is in much need of an update. Rooms are old and worn. I have always asked for a beach view which is nice. The views are great and love hearing the ocean. There is not much of a Resturant at this hotel but it is close to some good ones.

Stayed in a corner room on the beach side. Room was well maintained. Beach-front properties always age much faster than inland ones, and often things don't work as expected (sliding doors to the patio for example). This hotel has none of that, and the maintenance appeared very good. It's not brand new, but almost every area has a fresh look. Really good location- about 1/2 mile to gas and groceries and right on the beach- you don't even have to walk down a splinter-giving catwalk, just down a ... Read more
