I stayed here for a conference at the convention center, so location was everything. There are many great restaurants and coffee shops within walking distance that offer quicker service than the hotel restaurant. Our breakfast was included, but everyday the line was long and slow-moving, so we gave up and went to a local coffee shop instead. Other than that, the room was clean and comfortable, and the walking distance to the convention center was no problem at all.

When I checked in , I should have noticed the unnaturally high number of dude-type guys wandering through the lobby, but I was just there to sleep during a conference weekend. When I got to my room early in the morning when I checked in, my floor was quiet, the room was pretty large and clean and the view from my top floor room was nice and faced 6th street. This was where the fun part ended. I was privy to naked yelling men wandering my floor, to throwing up in the hallways, some very drunk m... Read more

As a Marriott gold member I will never (and I don't use that term lightly) stay at this hotel again. Booked in two rooms for grad on my credit card (to secure) then have my in laws pay for theirs on checkout. Go to check out and they have already charged my card - people at front desk then say that is their accounting policy and literally can't help me. Then they proceed to charge my father in law for parking after we had told them we only had one car and the valet was paid on the other room.... Read more

We had another workshop at the Courtyard Austin Downtown, The location is great - within walking distance of the entertainment district. The hotel has good guest rooms and conference facilities. Banquets staff are professional and efficient. Audio visual equipment rental prices are reasonable, as is meeting space for workshops. Hotel dining options are limited but sufficient. Many restaurants are within a short walk of the hotel, close enough to be able to go out for lunch.

The location was perfect. Two blocks from 6th street and the convention center. The service was excellent. The valet, front desk, and restaurant personals were extremely friendly and helpful. Breakfast buffet was standard. There's a Starbucks onsite but I didn't try. The gym was decent with many treadmills. The room was clean though it hasn't been remodeled like most courtyards I have stayed in. The only thing that wasn't exceptional is the quietness. The walls wasn't completely sound pr... Read more

This hotel is very well located if you want to enjoy 6th street. If you have not been to downtown Austin before, be aware that streets are alternating one ways. 4th street runs east to west off I-35. The hotel has a mostly uncovered area where you can pull in to check in and drop off luggage. You will then be given an option of parking yourself or using $37 valet parking. I chose parking myself and thought it would be free. Wrong! Self parking costs $29. If you self park, you need to... Read more

We've been waiting a year to take our honeymoon and wanted to go someplace earthy and festive. After doing plenty of research I decided the Courtyard Marriott would be the perfect location for us to explore Austin and have a great time. I spoke to Matt the day prior to arrange a cheese, fruit and hummus platter delivered to the room on arrival. They were extremely accommodating with the last minute decision. Once we arrived parking was easy. You can do valet in the front or drive around back... Read more

I wanted to write a quick review about the Courtyard Austin as this was my first trip to Austin. The hotel is what you expect from a Marriott Courtyard but what made this place special for me was the service. I hosted a business meeting at the property and everything went off without a hitch. The front desk was excellent (thanks for the food suggestions) and the technical support team was great helping out with an issue. I want to give Ashley Hall special acknowledgement as my host for the meeti... Read more

Stayed here for two nights for work. Location is good. Hotel room was fine. I only read a bit of the prior review and its interesting because I, too, was disappointed in the restaurant Champions. Two times I went there (one for dinner, once for lunch) and they didn't have enough staff to have the whole place open. So only place to sit was in a small table right at the bar. Just not what I was looking for as a single woman. They did let me sit at the bar with stools on the upper level but would h... Read more

We stayed at this hotel 3 nights for a wedding as part of a group rate. This was the perfect location for staying in downtown Austin. We were right near one of the main bar districts so we were able to walk to many restaurants and the bars within 1-3 blocks. We were very close to Rainey street and were always able to easily get an Uber within 1 minute to go elsewhere. The hotel was clean with nice sized rooms. There's also an onsite Starbucks. Would definitely recommend!

This is a hotel which delivers what is promised, but not more. The hotel exudes confidence that it's location will overcome all shortcomings. The hotel parking is painful and costly. There is no flexibility on closing times for breakfast, the bar and use of business meeting rooms. You sign up for 2 hours, that does not mean 2 hours and 8 minutes. The rooms were comfortable and fine. The selling point is location--walking distance to theConvention Center, downtown and 6th Street. The publ... Read more

The location is great and the rooms are nice. You are close to so much food and entertainment. The bar and restaurant attached it nice as well. You also have a Starbuck's attached to the hotel. Don't expect any additional service though. You get your room and no upgrades or free anything.

We were driving into town early on a Saturday morning as we were being picked up at 10:30am for a wine tour. Much to our surprise, when we arrived at the hotel early (around 9:30am), they told us our room was ready and we could check in. We were very pleased that we had a place to leave our belongings, as we were going to be gone on a tour all day. The rooms were nicely appointed and very clean. Visited Austin for business. Erika Alvarez was the Guest Service Rep who helped me upon check in - professional, fast, efficient, and friendly. Lobby is newer with plenty of space to work or relax. On site Starbucks is very convenient. Rooms well appointed (mine came with a fridge, some rooms do not, so you may have to arrange for one if desired) with newer motif. I stayed at this hotel this past Saturday 8/6. It was a decent price and the room was clean, nice view of the street and buildings nearby from the 6th floor. The room had a slight smoky/musty smell when we first went in but it ended up going away after we opened the door and turned down the A/C. The toilet area was a bit tight but it sufficed. There is a pool and a roof top terrace but we did not get a chance to check it out. The hotel is within comfortable walking distance to 6th street. Front ... Read more

We stayed here while visiting Austin for a conference. It was located directly across the street from the convention center, making it super convenient. It was pretty centrally located for all of the sightseeing that we did as well. There is a Starbucks in the lobby (but give yourself extra time as it was always packed!) as well as a sports bar/restaurant. While this hotel isn't what I consider luxury, it was nice, clean, comfortable and quiet at night. Overall, a winner!

Great location - within walkable distance to 6th street. My biggest complaint is parking. They have a parking garage however parking had run out at night because people who go to 6th street *not even hotel stayers* park there which leaves some of us with no spaces. I ended up parking in a valet spot because I had no choice. Also the key cards for a lot of people did not work so we ended up sitting at the gate waiting for someone to let us out. A little ridiculous for something pretty basi... Read more

Good, typical Courtyard. Clean. Fridge, micro and coffeemaker in room. Outlets at your bedside. They forgot to change out the feather pillows, but fixed that quickly; however, I think they store the pillows near each other because we both had reactions. At least the foam pillows are comfy and not overstuffed. Bed is just ok. Finishes and furniture in pretty good shape. $30 self parking (think valet is extra). Starbucks downstairs. Full restaurant/sports bar, not a standard Courtyard bistro.

I love a Marriott, and this is a good one. The main reason to book this hotel is the location. It is close to everything downtown including the chaos of sixth street, but it's just far enough away that it's not too noisy. The hotel itself looks pretty new and is the usual Marriott greatness. One star off just to keep everyone on their toes....

This is a great spot just blocks from everything; 6th St., State Capitol, Rainey St., etc. Shares the building with the Residence Inn. Front desk upgraded us to a king suite, reduced our rate, and gave us coupons for the breakfast buffet at the Residence Inn. All of the dealings with the front desk have been great. Can't say enough good things about this hotel.

I spent three nights at this Courtyard to attend a meeting at the convention center. The hotel is nearly caddy-corner from the center and therefore quite conveniently located. Check-in was a breeze despite a large crowd of conference goers. The king bed was comfortable and the average room had all the expected accoutrements. My room was low and had a view of the lobby rooftop although I was told on check in that it faced the river. This was true but no water view. I suspect one cannot see ... Read more

I reserved a room with two beds and upon arrival the clerk informed me that you are only guaranteed a room, not what kind. They suggested one of us sleep in the sofa pull-out. There was no sofa in the room they assigned. After showing them the room guarantee they agreed to knock off 30 bucks. If I'd wanted something $30 cheaper I would have booked somewhere else. From now on I will book somewhere else.

The building is odd. Half of it is Courtyard, half is Residence Inn. They have a full service restaurant, which means no standard Bistro quick service. That was inconvenient. No idea how old the structure is, but I suspect it's older and had at one point had smoking rooms. My room smelled. The hotel is in a large structure which houses another sister chain hotel. It has a great position, closed to the convention center and at walking distance from most restaurants and attraction. The airport bus stops within half a block. The lobby and amenities are standard for this chain and so are the rooms: clean, comfortable and quite, except for the air conditioning which was noisy and decided not to use. The staff was uniformly professional and knowledgeable.
