The TV was broken in which no one fixed, dogs were barking all night, and no one could move us. the service was slow. And the traffic outside was disruptive. I had very high expectations for this hotel and they fell below that expectation. We walked in hoping for a warm greeting but didn't even receive that. I was shocked to find they couldn't change our room due to the dogs barking in the room next door, even though we booked this hotel stay four months ago.

Room was clean, staff was courteous, but rooms were balcony location - not interior-corridor-style, which would have much quieter. Consequently, our night's sleep was continually interrupted by noise from passersby (other guests and highway traffic).. Also, the "complimentary" breakfast was meager and poorly presented, coffee resembled dirty dishwater - and very little else..

On the ninth of May my Co. had reserved a room for me at this La Quinta for two days. Due to a bad storm I encountered, I was late about three hours getting to the hotel. When I arrived a young girl behind the counter was dealing with two railroad workers and another gentleman behind them in trying to secure a room also. The girl...(her name was Tye) was looking in the computer with one hand while holding a piece of toast with grape jelly on the other telling them she had no more rooms and also ... Read more

I normally stay at Hampton, Holiday or one of the Marriott hotels, but all of those were booked when I passed thru Amarillo on May 17th. It was raining and I had been driving all day and was ready to stop for the evening. I used to like La Quinta, but it is really going down the tubes, right in line with Motel 6 and other low cost bed bug hotels, so out of desperation I took a room at this LaQuinta. The carpet was totally disgusting, badly stained. The towels, however, were white and fluffy, so... Read more

Beware, front desk clerk gave out our room key to another guest. That guest tried entering our room around 1:30 in the morning. We ended up calling the police since the front desk wouldn't answer our call. To make it worst the clerk denied issuing the room key when we checked out that morning.

Everything worked and was clean in the room. It is the many layers of paint and caulking that just forced me to accept that this is a very old building with years of make-up.. The building just does not justify the price. The desk staff was top notch! Friendly, efficient.

We were feeling adventurous and were only stopping in Amarillo for the night on our way west. We used Hotwire and got this room cheap. It was clean. The refrigerator sounded like a compressor. The plumbing ran all night, and there's a train track nearby. Unfriendly staff and NO ELEVATOR. I'll pay more next time for something better.

Stopped at this location on our way west due to them being pet friendly. The odor in the room was so bad we sprayed everything down with Febreeze and would not walk on the carpet barefooted. My wife went to take our poodle for a walk and was surprised by a homeless man crawling out of the dumpster (she did inform the front desk). When my wife approached the front desk about the condition of our room she was told our floor was the next to be cleaned .....

This was not my first time to stay.Great place to stay. Staff and rooms great too. Breakfast served earlier enough to get up and on your way to next destination. I am glad that they accept animals as I have a small dog who travels with us. I am also pleased that the rooms have been cleaned so that you cannot tell if the people before you also had a dog or animal in the room.

La Quinta East is a dated property - a throw back to motor lodge days where you park near your door. Having said that, it was clean, convenient to I-40, and the pool was decent. The Denny's restaurant (right next door) is being renovated, so there's heavy vehicles, traffic, and mini dumps in the La Quinta Inn parking lot. Fast food options are within walking distance in the same parking lot (Taco Bell - open to 2 A.M. and Wendy's) and lots of others choices nearby. Our A/C was cold, the bed was ... Read more

It seemed as though La Quinta purchased an older motel and converted it. The rooms were nice on the inside, but there were outdoor entrances, which is something I like to avoid. That's on me, I guess. I should have checked the pictures before booking.

We hated it!!! Will never stay in a La Quinta Inn again. It was filthy and staff was very unaccommodating. Linens were gross. Would not recommend it to anyone. Stay away from this one. The carpet was filthy. The doors have NEVER been wiped down. The tub faucet leaked hot water all night long! The staff was very unhelpful and rude. We always book La Quinta because they are pet friendly. This one needs lots of help. It was Memorial Day weekend and the property clean all the carpets in the rooms. Needless to say our carpet was wet and had a order when we checked in. When I complained the front desk made the comment " I don't know why they chose to do this on a holiday weekend". The door to our room stuck because they recently painted the the outside of each room and did a terrible job.

I swear I didn't notice this on their website picture, but this hotel has outdoor access which is a minus to begin with. It is definitely an older LQ. Very pleasantly surprised by the condition and service at this La Quinta location. From the outside it doesn't look like much -- standard motel appearance with lots of paint to hide the buildings' age and a little rust here and there on the stairways.  However, everything is right, where it counts.  New, fluffy towels; fresh new sheets and blankets; clean, updated rooms and decor; and attentive staff.  As an example, we picked up a pair of extra towels from the front desk to bring our tota... This property is an older style "motel" (park at your door). It has been updated to La Quinta Inn standards. But, this is not a La Quinta Inn & Suites, just an Inn. No refer, no microwave, but, clean and comfortable with a friendly staff. Rooms are a full 1/3 to 1/2 less than the properties with suites. Nice inexpensive place to stay.

Staff was friendly, beds clean and comfortable. The not so good: there was black mold around the tub, the coffee maker was dirty (thick dust not just coffee remnants). There were multiple bugs. The tub faucets need work. The box spring lining was torn. We traveled with cats and they were able to get under there which made it difficult to retrieve them and could have been dangerous for them. Given that this is an older motel we didn't have high expectations, however when your foot sticks to a spot in the carpet to the point of almost pulling your shoe off, that is unacceptable. Carpet needs a professional cleaning. Other than that it was ok.

Stayed there on way from Colorado to Austin. Although its a motor inn (doors face the parking lot), it was clean and comfortable for me and my family. Staff was friendly and had our room ready for us despite late arrival. Bathroom had separate sink from small toilet/shower area. Sheets were nice and AC was great. This hotel is priced reasonably and is accessible to major venues, airport, highways, restaurants, and shopping. It is an older hotel but the interior decor has been updated. Nothing fancy, but a clean, well maintained room. Outside access is a concern, but the area was well lighted at night and parking was close. Good value in comparison to other major brand hotels in the area.

Definitely not what I expected after staying in aLa Quinta in Tupelo, MS! Very old property. No upgrades done. Price is reflective. I should have done more homework. The one good thing was the bed weer clean and comfortable and isn't that really what you're looking for in a hotel? My room was 114. Paper thin walls so when people were yelling at each other or car alarms were going off, you heard everything. I gave it 3 stars for just the clean bed.

This "hotel" must rank as the worst I've ever stayed in. Old and musty, really run down. I only stayed one night, driving from Colorado to Florida and just needed a room for me and my two small dogs. Never got any sleep though. Throughout the night people knocked on my door, drunk and drugged out, the last one at 1:30 in the morning!
