Stayed here 3 days. Great place. Was upgraded to a suite which has a small living room area with TV. Room also had fridge & micro. Large & roomy. Only heard outside noise one morning-people in the hallway. Each evening, had a reception with wine/beer/drinks & snacks. Breakfast was always great with hot food & lots of coffee. Staff constantly refilling & cleaning. Breakfast/reception area is nice with big screen TV & comfy seating. Bed was very comfortable. Easy to get in & out of location. Will ... Read more

Spent there nights in Alpine last week. Thought we were staying at the best place. Being a Holiday Inn I guess we just expected too much. The bed was NEVER changed, had to ask for towels, toilet paper and shampoo. Also the TV did not work properly!! Was very pricey on top of all that. The breakfast was the highlight of the stay. The young lady working the food bar was very nice. The young lady working the front desk was NOT! Just expected more from A Holiday Inn....,

Hotel looked so new that I asked the staff when it opened and they said 4 years ago. You'd never know it... everything was spotless. The room was quiet, the bed was comfortable, the A/C was amazing, and the free breakfast was good. My only minor complaint would be about the shower head. That aside, I highly recommend this hotel.

This hotel is one of the best Holiday Inn Express hotels we have stayed in. All the staff were friendly and courteous, especially Donna (the desk clerk). The hotel was immaculately clean and beautifully decorated. The common areas were spacious and the breakfast area was large. The hotel had all the amenties needed such as a microwave and fridge in room, whirlpool, heated pool (indoor), laundry facilities and a business center with two working computers. The breakfast had huge choices with egg... Read more

Stayed here for two nights on an IHG points stay while visiting Big Bend. Average to slightly above-average HIE experience. Among the positives were breakfast (well-stocked and clean) and the evening manager's reception (cheap but free beer and wine). Among the negatives were wifi that kept dropping and impossible-to-open bottles of bath products. There are basically two chain options in Alpine, the HIE and a Hampton Inn, and they are situated at opposite ends of town, with this one slightly mor... Read more

Couldn't find it with my GPS and when we arrived I thought it was because it had recently been built, but came to find out it has been around for 4 years. They have kept this hotel in great shape. The rooms were immaculate and the staff was awesome. This is the place to stay when visiting Big Bend.

Stayed here for a night while my boyfriend and his band were playing down the street at Railroad Blues. I was happy with the level of service the staff provided and the cleanliness of the hotel was up to speed with what you would expect from an IHG brand. It is a little ways to walk to the main area of Alpine but it is a short drive so worth the stay.

We booked this hotel on a long weekend, and were surprised (and happy) to find a room. We found the staff to be very courteous while checking in. Hector was very welcoming and took the time to talk us through local dining options during our stay. We were booked in the king suite, which was roomy and ideal for our 3-person stay. The sofa pulls out to a queen bed, sufficiently comfortable for a child. The room came with extra bedding for the sofa bed. The king suite has a kitchenette with mini f... Read more

A nice HIE, clean rooms, comfy beds, good TV, good water pressure in the shower. Had a choice of wifi or wired internet. Breakfast was typical. The staff is what makes this hotel stand out - very helpful in suggesting restaurants & things to do, as well as taking care of guest needs. They actually called he day before our stay to see if we had any special needs. And, they have a "hospitality hour" with snacks & beverages.

Stayed there three nights while visiting Big Bend National Park. For anyone booking far in advance and is mainly visiting for Big Bend, I would not recommend staying in Alpine. The drive to get into the park, let alone the Chisos Mountain Basin, is over an hour drive from this hotel. If you're able to, book in a closer town such as Marathon, or if you're even luckier, inside the park. This hotel though was nice to stay in for a holiday inn and a last minute road trip. It was very clean with a co... Read more

Stayed here while playing in a golf tournament. Nice hotel nice rooms but absolutely the slowest internet - ever out in the face of the earth. I will be surprised if this post doesn't post until I return home. Really in this day and time and technology - get a grip Holiday Inn

This is one of the nice HIE that we have stayed at. The rooms were clean and comfortable and the service was great. Not a breakfast person, but the wife really enjoyed it. They have a late afternoon get together with free beer, wine and snacks.. fabulous.

I needed to attend a class at Sul Ross University and this hotel was almost directly across the street. The room was fantastic and accommodated our needs very well. The complimentary breakfast was much appreciated, especially when I needed to get to an early lecture that lasted all day. The facility is decorated beautifully. The staff was fabulous when we had questions or needs. One front desk clerk (who attends school at Sul Ross - can't remember her name) was especially helpful when I ne... Read more

We stayed 4 nights and were very pleased. I requested a room change upon arrival to avoid "night walkers" on the ceiling and they were very accommodating to move us to the top floor. Room was clean, quiet, and comfortable. Breakfast area was clean. Staff was very friendly.

We planned a trip to Marfa, (the next town over) but my girlfriend didn't like the choices of places to stay in Marfa proper. So she booked us in here. It had all the things we needed. Hot showers, clean sheets & coffee in the morning. One of the advantages of a national chain like this is knowing what to expect in terms of service. We didn't have much interaction with the staff, and in my opinion that's a good thing, it means everything was going smoothly. Recommended if you a looking for a... Read more

We got this room by using Priority Points, I guess when you get a free room you get the worse room they have. We stayed here 2 nights and didn't get any sleep either nite. Our room was right against the elevator and the outside door. All night I heard the elevator going up and down, doors slamming all nite, and the people above us were up walking around all nite both nites!! It was awful! This was the noisiest room I've ever stayed in! The bed was comfortable and I wish I could have slept! If yo... Read more

I've stayed here before, and was very satisfied with that stay, but have memories back then of the prices being disproportionately too high to other similar rooms in the city. We were at a meeting at the college and the "recommended" hotel was that other national brand out on the west side. It took me about 38 seconds to figure out the "recommended" hotel wasn't for me, and I was delighted to jump ship and choose this shiny new thing across the road from said college. Your prices at this inn ... Read more

This is a nice, clean hotel with a cordial staff, but their wifi signal is TERRIBLE (almost non-existent). If you need wifi for work or any other reason, you might want to find another hotel as the cell signal in this part of the world isn't strong either.

We were very surprised to see how huge the rooms were. There is a separate sitting area, a microwave, and a fridge. Beds were very comfy. There was a happy hour with beer, wine, soda, cheese and other snacks. Hot breakfast is included and had a great selection. I would highly recommend this hotel if you are traveling through the area.

Got a reservation for two rooms at the Holiday Inn Express and was delighted with the rooms, the cleanliness and roominess. Separate TV room, great shower and the biggest surprise was the food in the lounge for the evening, including beer, wine, colas, cheese snacks and more. Keep it up.

After arriving in Alpine, we were looking for a place to stay overnight before heading to Big Bend National Park. This Holiday Inn Express was exactly what we were expecting. Clean, modern, with great beds. Microwave and refrigerator in the room. A nice big breakfast area with plenty of table and chairs. TV with couch also here. Food choices standard- sausage no bacon, premadevomelets not scrambled eggs, biscuits and gravy, ceareals, bagels, muffins, cinnamon rolls. All staff were friendly and c... Read more

We stay in holiday Inn express across the country, always clean quiet and usually close to places to eat. This met our criteria, even having a happy hour with ice cold beer and wine. They had finger food, cheese and crackers etc. Alpine is a small but nice town with friendly people and this Holiday Inn Express was a good representation of the area.

Used Holiday Inn Express in Alpine as home base for our trip. Very clean rooms, good breakfast and centrally located to everywhere we wanted to see. Happyhour/reception each afternoon was nice to get a few before dinner snacks. Be sure to look for pamphlets and brochures in the lobby for local information & events

Hotel was a welcome site as not much in this area. Our room was a good size and clean. There was a microwave and refrigerator in the room, comfy beds, quiet. The hotel has a small indoor pool and gym. Breakfast was included and had a nice variety to it, 6:00-10:00 am so generous hours as well.

Not the friendliest. First room we checked into had wad of hair under the sheet. I was so grossed out. Probably means sheets are not always being changed between guests. Yikes. They apologized and gave us another room and some extra points for the stay. Second roon had a very sharp cracked tile in the bathroom. Doh. I wouldn't come back because of the hair wad on the first bed.

Stayed two nights in mid-November. Check-in was friendly and efficient, was assigned exactly the type of room I requested. The whole hotel appeared very new, in great shape and clean. I was surprised to see some many lights in a hallway, in my opinion they are exaggerating with all those lights (not really energy-friendly), I had the impression I was in a bio-lab :). The room was comfortable, clean and (at first glance) in good shape. However we later discovered/experienced several issues than s... Read more
