It's the staff that make the difference. Free shuttles all around Nashville are offered and the drivers were fantastic, special note to Larry who gave us many tips and details on the city. They even served free wine in the lobby. Close proximity to all the downtown action. Great spot near Vanderbilt. The rooms are more standard than a 5 rating would suggest, probably more of a 4, but clean and basic for your needs. Would highly recommend these accommodations.

I highly recommend this hotel if you are staying in Nashville. It is a little less expensive than some of the hotels closer to downtown, but you don't sacrifice any of the accessibility due to the wonderful friendly shuttle service. In 5-10 minutes you can be downtown in the action. Rooms are clean, updated, well designed and spacious. We had 3 adults in our room and never felt cramped. Situated right by Vanderbilt University, and one turn off of 440, this hotel touts a great location. Our king sized room on the 12th floor faced West End Ave, and had sweeping views of the Parthenon, downtown, and the mountains in the distance. Breakfast was not included in our rate, but was $13pp, and included eggs, meats, fruits, cereals, pastries, and fruit, etc. Walk-in shower and bathroom were fairly new. Would definitely recommend!

I've stayed here a couple times while in Nashville on business. It's a decent enough place in a good area. I can't say anything bad about it other than it's typical Holiday Inn. And that isn't necessarily a bad thing.

First they messed up our reservation. We had booked a dbl queen room (receipt i had confirmed) They had us in a King room. They were sold out so we had no choice but to take the room. The pull out sofa was nasty! It looked as though the maids never open it to clean or check for lost items. It had black stuff all over the pull out a lip gloss change and a hair tie plus tons of crumbs etc. The girl checking us in was not apologetic what so ever for the reservation era. Stayed for a long weekend with my mom to visit the sights. The hotel was great, staff was great. No problems and would highly recommend and would stay again. We did not use the pool because of the weather but the pool and pool area were clean. Ate at the hotel restaurant and the food was good. Only problem was the shuttle didn't show up to take me to the airport but I don't believe they are part of the hotel.

Lobby smells really good and clean. Room doors are very heavy and slam easily. A/C needs to be adjustable to where it blows. It blows directly on the bed, also one can't turn the fan on and have the A/C run at the same time. So it's cold, then hot, then cold, repeated all night. The true aggravation was the CMA music awards week. Prices go sky high, so we were forced to pay bloated prices in order to stay for a hospital surgery at Vanderbilt. That made our stay very uncomfortable.

My wife and I went down to the restaurant/bar in the lobby around 10pm for a drink. They were closing at 11 but still provided great service. I grabbed a Club sandwich also which was great! I can't say enough about how nice the FREE shuttle service was to have there. We never waited for than 5-10 mins on this busy weekend when we visited. Ran until 11pm. Compared to other Holiday Inns , I was disappointed. I was traveling with my husband on business. There was some confusion on the packaged rate we booked a month earlier. Everything about this hotel was average. The rooms were nice enough. The location was fairly close to downtown. Be prepared to uber or use taxis thought as the shuttle runs on its own schedule and will not be available a good portion of the time. The elevators are extremely slow. Holiday Inn Express is a nice chain. Rooms are clean. Amenities are plentiful; fridge, microwave & coffee pot. Comfortable bed and nice firm pillows. My only peeve is having to pay $20 to park in their parking lot after paying for a room. Awful to fight all the traffic, pay just to park for a business meeting because our corporate office is downtown. This was our 2nd time at this hotel, first time was 2.5 years ago. Overall our stay was just as great as the first time. While if you look at the hotel closely you can tell it's starting to show it's age, the overall appearance is good. We like how this hotel is just far enough away from the hustle and bustle of downtown, but still only a $6 Uber ride to Broadway. The hotel does have a shuttle, we only utilized it twice because we spent more time waiting for it than we did actually riding downto... Read more

Perfect for the football game. Was able to tailgate in the parking lot before and after the game. Hotel was extremely generous, rooms were perfect, ice was plentiful, staff was very helpful in organizing day trips, things to see and do. Shuttle was provided to attractions. Room rates seemed a little high as we extended our stay an additional night due to Hurricane Ian and no consideration was given for a 3 night stay. Would stay there again due to convenience.

Don't get me wrong. There is nothing wrong with HI we stayed at. Upon entry, it is a beautiful structure. Clean, roomy, updated. The room itself was average, adequate, cozy. From the balcony, that you could only stand on.. no seats to be used inside or out.. saw the Vanderbilt Stadium. The only seat was an office chair. Thank God we were not planning the HI to be our destination weekend get away.

Everyone was very nice and the free shuttle is a life saver and really allows you to enjoy your trip more. Pool was nice and the gym was good quality for a hotel. Everyone treated us extremely well. Larry the shuttle bus guy was very helpful

Loved our trip to Nashville and also loved the Holiday Inn Vanderbilt, great location with some excellent shopping and restaurants very close, they also have a shuttle that goes to the main hub of Nashville but we found it to be an easy 20 minute walk checking out some other sights along the way. Staff at the hotel are friendly and very helpful, the facilities are everything you need with pool, gym, ice machines and also a laundry (even on holidays you need to wash). Good size room and very comf... Read more

Worst experience I have ever had with customer service at a hotel. The front desk associate, Danielle, was by far the most rude, accusatory, unhelpful hotel employee I have ever come across. Front desk will never answer reservation phone calls. Watching the front desk employee, Danielle, silence the calls coming in. Traveled with a service dog and they were not accommodating whatsoever. I do not recommend anyone traveling with special disabilities or requests to stay here. Flying into Nashvill... Read more

I flew in from out of town for a friends wedding and stayed at the hotel for three nights. The hotel was clean and updated. The entire staff was extremely helpful from the second we arrived. We had a large wedding party and the handled all of us with grace. If they didn't have the answer they found it. I loved that the trolley took our entire wedding party to the wedding, reception, and back. Parking would have been very difficult and expensive downtown otherwise. The hotel shuttle driver w... Some of the reviews talked about how awful the staff is. This couldn't be further from the truth. You have to ask yourselves 'why do people complain so much'? Front desk was nice at check in. They even had a wine cart handing out wine to those checking in! At one point over the weekend I was standing in lobby waiting for my husband and two separate staff members (looked like management) approached me to see if I needed anything. Also, we were there during a Vanderbilt/Florida game. They said... Read more

still feels like an old hotel that renovation did not finish. Bathrooms still old with caulking missing in several places. Charging for parking is absurd. The entire front lot is used for valet parking and the rear is reserved for self-park by guests, but they charge $10. Also, you have to be checked in with a key to enter the building from the parking lot entrance.

I stayed here on a vacation to Nashville. It's a fine hotel. Nothing overly fancy. The location is great, especially if going to Vandy since it's right by the football stadium. Downtown isn't to far away, about a 6$ uber ride. The rooms were clean and average sized. Staff was very helpful. Fitness center was also small, but had everything one would need for a quick workout. Again, nothing overly special or exciting, but nothing noticeably bad either.

Yes its a little away from the main part of Nashville but it has a great view (Parthenon), free shuttle bus with drivers who are incredibly knowledgeable and the commodore grill (attached to the hotel) has great live music every night. it also has some great restaurants near by (J Alexanders and Pancake Pastry are both within walking distance)

Our room was clean and spacious. Housekeeping was excellent. The only thing lacking for us was complimentary coffee in the lobby and no free breakfast. Other than that I have no complaints. Shuttle to and from downtown was fine. If you were too late to catch the shuttle back (due to having an awesome time downtown!) you could easily grab a taxi. Nice park across the street. They had a craft fair going on while we were there.

we stayed here for 4 nights for a wedding and although it is away from the main centre of Nashville we walked there and back everyday which took approx 40 mins each way. However, they do offer a free shuttle bus if you don't fancy the walk. The buffet breakfast was good as was the room service breakfast we ordered the day after the wedding. The room was kept clean and the beds were comfy. We had a room at the rear which looked onto the Vanderbilt stadium which we didn't have an issue with.

My husband & I stayed three nights at this hotel while visiting Nashville. Our room was clean & spacious & we had a view of the pool/Vanderbilt stadium in the back. My only complaint was there was no hooks in the bathroom to hang our wet towels (nothing on the door or wall). The buffet breakfast in the restaurant was good and there is a coffee shop down in the lobby (no complimentary coffee, but the café has an assortment of offerings). Also, there is a convenience store type area that sells w... Read more

This hotel is a very functional option for a place to stay in Nashville. Particularly if you are there for a Vanderbilt event. My dad stayed here in the early 1970's when I was a student, so it's been around for a while. This is not high end. The Plath needs some TLC. But the young people who work here are all very pleasant and do their best to make you feel at home.

Stayed here for 2 nights while touring with our son. Nice hotel with plenty of parking. Breakfast was included and was good. At night we ate in the restuarant and the food was very good, watched the entertainment which was excellent with many different artists of all ages singing. Dissapointed the swimming pool was closed for the season especially when it was 25 deg and sunny. The hotel has a bus which takes you downtown, it will pick you up again if you phone the driver. We made reservations very early in the year to stay for a Thursday night football game. We arrived on Wednesday around 2:00, room was not ready. We had asked for a room in the stadium side, request was not in the computer. Didn't have to wait too long before getting into the room which was located by the elevator. There was no locking mechanism in the sliding glass door. We called the front desk to have it repaired. A very nice man came right before we were to leave for dinner and we waited f... Read more

The hotel just felt a bit dated. The rooms were decent but lots of little touches were totally missing here. Checked in, room was not ready so clerk said she would text me when it was ready, never texted me so ended up waiting in line again at 4. There was a big jug of water and glasses in the lobby, at no time did I see water in it, just empty ice. Made a reservation for the shuttle at 10am one morning, it didn't even return to hotel until 10:30, when it was first come first serve couldn't ... Read more

We arrived at the hotel and was greeted by Jared (a bellhop) very friendly and professional! At check in, the desk clerk was very quick and professional! Our room was very clean and we have no complaints. Very pleasant stay! The parking fee was a bit pricey but more than likely the norm in most large cities.

I stayed a few days for business. The hotel seems very new and modern. It's very clean as well! I had a view of Vanderbilt football stadium, with a small balcony. That was a nice surprise. There are plenty of food and grocery options nearby. The only negative is the high price for parking, so just be aware. Otherwise, I'd highly recommend it and will be back again in a few weeks.

A very honest hotel, very comfortable without the fuzz of Nashville downtown. Correct in all senses, the room has an view over the Centennial Park, and it's very close to the city center. There is a shuttle bringing you to the musical area. The bed is as very comfortable, only issue are the pillows that could be of better quality. Overall it's a very nice quality hotel.

At first we were upset not to be in Downtown Nashville but the hotel provides a shuttle bus which takes about 10 mins and for us meant a better stay dropping in to town whenever we wanted but restfull location. The room was nothing amazing but large, clean and comfortable which was all we needed. The Front of House staff were fantastic. We just stayed the holiday inn and had a great stay. We were on the 10th in room facing the park. Because it was a holiday weekend some of the hotels amenity were reduced (the bar was closed at night for the weekend) no big deal so much to do in Nashville. As any holiday inn the bed was fantastic and the room was quite. Every staff member we dealt with greeted us and were very respectful. Stayed at this location for the UT vs. Vanderbilt game 2016. By the way the Vols lost (UGGGGH!) Either way, the place was great and also the best location for any Vanderbilt stadium venue. Literally steps across the back parking lot into the stadium. Even with all the tail gating crowds wondering around the property, Holiday Inn Staff was able to care for it's customers. We checked in fast and easy and even got free valet parking because all the free parking spots were taken. Very cool of H... Read more
