The room was fine. We were staying to go to the Opry. The hotel has a shuttle which was great. When we got to the hotel after the show, there was only ONE option to get a snack. While the hotel has numerous restaurants, only a small concession with pizza and pre-wrapped food was available.

We were here in early May for a festival being held at the Resort. Although it's a huge resort and convention center, the restaurants were not always open. I'm not meaning open all night - I mean open at dinner time! We tried 3 times between Friday and Sunday to eat at the Mexican Restaurant and it was never opened. A lot of people we were with felt the same - if the restaurant is in the resort, it should be open for business. Having said that, the room was lovely although we couldn't get ou... Read more

This is an amazing place to stay! So big, it will take you several days to find your way around. The gardens are beautiful. Waterfalls that you can walk behind or sit next to and enjoy a drink or meal. Many restaurants to choose from, but on the expensive side even for just a sandwich or hamburger. Nice variety of stores but again on the expensive side. ($29 for an umbrella) 3 swimming pools to enjoy and a boat tour down a river in the hotel complex. The conference center is HUGE! Even ... Absolutely beautiful hotel/resort with many food/drink/snack choices on the premises. Everything from upscale steakhouse and Italian dining to sushi, build your burger and frozen yogurt, as well as many others including sports bars. Golf course only 5 minutes away. Shuttle service to local mall, downtown and airport. My wife and I really enjoyed our stay in a room with balcony overlooking the indoor atrium.

Second time in this hotel. Love it! Very, very pretty tropical setting inside the expansive domes. My kids love to explore all of the different paths through the foliage. Rooms clean and pretty. Lots of snack shops/convenience shops that the kids like for giant cookies, ice cream, Goldfish. Pools are nice but you would think they would have more pools based on the size of this hotel? We stayed here for a professional convention which is well accommodated in this large hotel. You will get your exercise in walking through from convention center to room to restaurants. A tour of the hotel did not offer much more than an advertisement for the restaurants. If you stop on the paths and read the information about various foliage, you have the best of the hotel tour. The nearby shopping mall and outside restaurants give you an alternative to staying inside for all your meals and... Read more

First off, if your intent is to experience the vibe of Nashville, don't consider this hotel. It is a long ride to downtown and you'll wear out Uber (my choice) or a taxi getting there. I wouldn't recommend driving downtown due to parking issues. There are some great hotels right downtown that allow you to walk out and enjoy the bars immediately. If, however, you are a huge fan of the Grand Ole Opry it is only a short walk and, if at a conference, it is hard to argue about the facilities. I ... Read more

Family from all over the country met in Nashville and we stayed at the Gaylord Opryland. Hotel is absolutely beautiful and clean. The inside is worth the visit, even if you aren't staying here. Rooms were okay. We were upgraded to an inside room overlooking the atrium, which was very nice. Otherwise, I really don't think it would have been worth the money for the room itself. My mother and I stayed in the Delta wing of the resort. The atriums are magnificent. Waterfalls and trees make you feel like you are outside. Everything in the atriums were decorated with plants and little ponds to immerse you in the beauty of nature. I was expecting the decor of the rooms to align to a theme or have a certain luxury feel to it. The rooms were standard (think Hampton Inn/Holiday Inn Express). The beds were comfy, the room was also maintained, and hospitality was 2nd to nun. We went to Nashville for the big fireworks show that have on 4th of July. We arrived in Nashville on June 15th (Wed) and after a long drive we decided to treat ourselves to a lovely experience by going to the Gaylord Resort for dinner. We selected this only because of the surroundings, and we wanted an opportunity to have a nice dinner and the little kids would enjoy it. Arrive around 7:00pm to find out the majority of the restaurants were closed, we dined at the Cascades restaurant thinking the surroundings would be enjoyable. The service was just 'okay' and the ... We have stayed at this hotel twice for a homeschool convention. The price for a room is good with the event rate. The food onsite, is pricey, with the exception of Paisanos pizza. Their prices are reasonable, and the pizza is excellent. Down side, no free breakfast. Beautiful hotel, and plenty of places to walk around inside the hotel and see the beautiful scenery, while getting some exercise.

Honestly, I would never have put this hotel on my radar, had not a friend who is a travel agent recommend it to me. What an amazing place. Not one, but 3, separate domes enclose tropical gardens like none you would see in the best arboretum. While we were "walk-ins" (and described as such by the front desk!) we thought that with 2882 rooms, we should be ok for a room.
