The hotel staff were very polite and helpful. Rooms were clean. Early morning room service was punctual and food was terrific. (Thanks Jasmine!) Great location to catch the trolley-buses and horse drawn carriages to other downtown locations. They also offer underground parking.

If the staff cannot sort out the cleaning of your room for 50% of your stay (despite reminders), that tells you that either the management needs reorganisation and/or the hotel is not that good and/or the hotel is not that interested in its guests. Left the room at 9.00 am and back at 6.00 pm, and the hotel room was exactly as I had left it on 3 occasions. It even happened on the one day that, just before leaving the room, I called housekeeping (or equivalent) and specifically asked them to ma... Read more

We were part of the American Queen cruise and this hotel was included in the package. We found the Sheraton to be modern with excellent service and great breakfast. The only problem was the toilet which didn't flush and after a phone call to front desk was corrected within 10 minutes. Although the location isn't down town the tram car had pick up and drop off outside the side door

We stayed for just over night but the staff was super friendly and helpful with questions. The room was very clean and comfortable. The hotel is located about a mile from Beale street but a quick trolley or Uber will have your there in no time. The fitness room is well equipped to get your daily workout in and the pool looked inviting but we didn't use it. Will definitely stay here again if in the area.

Nice hotel. Towel racks in the bathroom are either poorly located or non existent. Coffee pot was missing the pod holder. An example where the little things count. Parking is $32 per night. Thanks to another reviewer, I park across the street for $10. Note, for $12 you can get in and out privileges.

I stayed in a corner room on the 16th floor with club level access. The room was quiet and had a lot of space! The view was great, and the staff was very accommodating. I had dinner at the hotel bar the night I checked in. It was busy and we had a short wait, but we were consistently checked on and notified of our food status. The waitress on duty was great! We enjoyed a complimentary breakfast in the club lounge the next morning that was much better than expected! This was not an average hotel ... Read more

Just on edge of all the activity, very central, but less crazy. Starbucks and bar available in large reception area. Plenty of elevators-just key in floor number, and a lift is automatically allocated. We had room on 31st floor 3128, good views over river front. Free wifi in lounge area, not in rooms. computers in lounge area also. The hotel has a 'green' approach to room service, meaning the cleaners will, on request not change towels, sheets, shower products, unnecessarily. Iconic piano and art... Read more

The hotel is a large hotel which probably handles a lot of conventions and large groups. Check in was efficient, easy and the person who checked us in was friendly and very helpful. Breakfast was included in the rates and it was a great surprise. Served in the dining room which was very attractive and it was delicious. Grits, oatmeal, bacon, sausage, eggs with accoutrements , biscuits and gravy, pancakes and for the health conscious there was a fabulous selection of melons and berries as well as... Read more

Didn't realise when I booked it that the Sheraton is a chain of decent hotels in the US. Felt quite posh when I checked in! Big open lobby (with escalators!) that led to the bar and restaurant who did a great breakfast buffet. Room was modern and with a bonus view of the Mississippi. Clean, big bathroom with a great powerful shower. Away from the hustle of Beale Street but near enough to not feel out if it and the trolley stops outside ($1 a trip). Only grumble - the safe was low down and need t... Read more

This hotel is conveniently located next to the Convention Center. There is a trolly stop at the hotel which only costs $1 per person to ride. Our room was clean, quiet, and hotel staff was very friendly and accommodating. The only negatives that I can report is that the water was very slow to leave the tub or sink area. Our door handle kept sticking in the downward position and it costs $20 to park in the hotel parking garage. I feel that the hotel parking should be free to guest.

I could not fault this hotel and I would not hesitate to recommend staying here. Its situation is perfect for getting to the main attractions. The trolley bus runs right outside the hotel it only cost $1 and ran regulary. The staff were very helpful especially Brittany Brown who booked my Graceland trip for me before my stay, she also gave me directions from the Amtrack train to the hotel. We arrived very early in the morning ,our rooms were ready for us, and the breakfast was delicious which set ... The hotel is located next to the Convention Centre so was busy with people attending conferences etc. Even though we arrived early in the morning, after an overnight train journey from Chicago, our rooms were ready for us. There is a trolley stop just outside the hotel and it costs $1 per person for the trip into the town centre, which is, in any case, not too far and a pleasant walk. This was very nearly a perfect place to stay - easy reach of everywhere as on the main tram line. Really good food. The reason that I have marked it down was because of extremely poor customer service. The reception staff were totally disinterested & unhelpful. Service was very slow in the bar too, though it did seem popular with the local hospital staff, so we may just have been unlucky. Not much character here. It felt like a place that you pass through rather than a home from home, which is w... Read more

The hotel is located in a great location away from the hustle and bustle of Beale St, but on a trolley shuttle. Rooms are quiet and spacious. There is a pool but it is indoors and there is no bar/services area or grassy outdoor area to relax in. Good hotel from which to commence a riverboat cruise along the Mississippi River.

We booked the executive level, which is fantastic, and has all the food and amenities you would ever need. We stayed here a few weeks ago with friends from out of town. The 4 of us stayed in a large room with two double beds. We paid $250 for the night. The staff was not helpful and very rude when we checked in, when I tried to ask questions they rushed us. When we got to the room we noticed it was stifling hot and we had to crank the air all the way up. After that we went to take showers and noticed we had 1 towel, for all 4 of us. Stayed here for 2 nights in May. The location wasn't great but was okay for catching the trolley bus. We prefer to walk but were advised not to, just too far out of the centre of the town. The hotel was okay. The room couldn't have been cleaner but at least we got our room cleaned and fresh towels. Our friends didn't see a cleaner at all and had to make their own bed and reuse the towels. The bar area and breakfast area were very nice but the service was appalling! The staff knew we were ... We made last minute (literarily) reservation on the 4th of July weekend, and for $120 per night this was a deal! Finally the exact right price for a hotel. The breakfast was included, and had a "limited" buffet (similar to a Hampton Inn), but was more than good enough for me. Also included in the price was afternoon snack (6-8pm) with different cheeses, vegetables, and other hot stuff. If we wanted we could have considered it dinner! Due to my chosen profession for the past 15 years, I qualify for employee discounts at Starwood hotels. Employee discounts are based on availability and are always still a high enough rate to cover the hotel's costs. I was traveling through Memphis for one night on a Thursday and found an employee rate available at this Sheraton and booked it. I could have booked many other hotels since there was nothing going on in Memphis on this particular Thursday. I choose this Sheraton based on the p... Read more

Checked into the Sheraton Memphis Downtown Hotel on the Fourth of July. It was hot, it was muggy and we were tired. The Sheraton is a 14 and 19 story, two tower hotel about a block from the Mississippi River levees. The exterior is a boring, unremarkable brown slab but the inside is spacious and grand. Check in was simple and fast and the staff responsive to room preference requests. We had booked a basic two doubles room that had plenty of space for three people. Complimentary robes in the clos... Got this through the internet at an ok price but it suffers from the same problems of so many big hotels - indifference. Reception always busy so spent ages booking in & although there were lots of internet access points in the lobby a good percentage didn't function properly. This is a very nice high end hotel. I contacted the front desk because of some mold and mildew in the tub and on the shower curtain. They immediately sent the head of housekeeping to my room and she personally changed the shower curtain and cleaned the tub. I'm sure my issue was a one-off situation and not an issue in every room. Customer service like this will keep me coming back.
