The hotel staff were very polite and helpful. Rooms were clean. Early morning room service was punctual and food was terrific. (Thanks Jasmine!) Great location to catch the trolley-buses and horse drawn carriages to other downtown locations. They also offer underground parking.

If the staff cannot sort out the cleaning of your room for 50% of your stay (despite reminders), that tells you that either the management needs reorganisation and/or the hotel is not that good and/or the hotel is not that interested in its guests. Left the room at 9.00 am and back at 6.00 pm, and the hotel room was exactly as I had left it on 3 occasions. It even happened on the one day that, just before leaving the room, I called housekeeping (or equivalent) and specifically asked them to ma... Read more

We were part of the American Queen cruise and this hotel was included in the package. We found the Sheraton to be modern with excellent service and great breakfast. The only problem was the toilet which didn't flush and after a phone call to front desk was corrected within 10 minutes. Although the location isn't down town the tram car had pick up and drop off outside the side door

We stayed for just over night but the staff was super friendly and helpful with questions. The room was very clean and comfortable. The hotel is located about a mile from Beale street but a quick trolley or Uber will have your there in no time. The fitness room is well equipped to get your daily workout in and the pool looked inviting but we didn't use it. Will definitely stay here again if in the area.

Nice hotel. Towel racks in the bathroom are either poorly located or non existent. Coffee pot was missing the pod holder. An example where the little things count. Parking is $32 per night. Thanks to another reviewer, I park across the street for $10. Note, for $12 you can get in and out privileges.

I stayed in a corner room on the 16th floor with club level access. The room was quiet and had a lot of space! The view was great, and the staff was very accommodating. I had dinner at the hotel bar the night I checked in. It was busy and we had a short wait, but we were consistently checked on and notified of our food status. The waitress on duty was great! We enjoyed a complimentary breakfast in the club lounge the next morning that was much better than expected! This was not an average hotel ... Read more

Just on edge of all the activity, very central, but less crazy. Starbucks and bar available in large reception area. Plenty of elevators-just key in floor number, and a lift is automatically allocated. We had room on 31st floor 3128, good views over river front. Free wifi in lounge area, not in rooms. computers in lounge area also. The hotel has a 'green' approach to room service, meaning the cleaners will, on request not change towels, sheets, shower products, unnecessarily. Iconic piano and art... Read more

The hotel is a large hotel which probably handles a lot of conventions and large groups. Check in was efficient, easy and the person who checked us in was friendly and very helpful. Breakfast was included in the rates and it was a great surprise. Served in the dining room which was very attractive and it was delicious. Didn't realise when I booked it that the Sheraton is a chain of decent hotels in the US. Felt quite posh when I checked in! Big open lobby (with escalators!) that led to the bar and restaurant who did a great breakfast buffet. Room was modern and with a bonus view of the Mississippi. Clean, big bathroom with a great powerful shower. Away from the hustle of Beale Street but near enough to not feel out if it and the trolley stops outside ($1 a trip). This hotel is conveniently located next to the Convention Center. There is a trolly stop at the hotel which only costs $1 per person to ride. Our room was clean, quiet, and hotel staff was very friendly and accommodating. The only negatives that I can report is that the water was very slow to leave the tub or sink area. Our door handle kept sticking in the downward position and it costs $20 to park in the hotel parking garage. I feel that the hotel parking should be free to guest.

This was very nearly a perfect place to stay - easy reach of everywhere as on the main tram line. Really good food. The reason that I have marked it down was because of extremely poor customer service. The reception staff were totally disinterested & unhelpful. Service was very slow in the bar too, though it did seem popular with the local hospital staff, so we may just have been unlucky. Not much character here. When we first pulled into valet it was around 9 at night. The valet were not very welcoming at all, and were standing around chatting it up. One valet gentleman quickly spit out two sentences about the dollar amount of parking per night, which when strung together so fast sounded foreign. We started to unload bags and had no help at all. Enjoyed our stay, two things though. The first one is the door in our room needs to be looked at, it would not shut properly, but I got it. The second is merely a suggestion. When going into the bathroom at night, sometimes it gets too bright. Practically blinding sometimes. Maybe a second light switch that controls either the light above the shower could make it so that a guest isn't practically blinded upon entering the bathroom. Otherwise I had a pleasant stay. We arrived at the Sheraton Memphis at 7am after a long overnight train journey from Chicago and were told that our room would not be ready until 3pm. All we wanted was a shower and a rest. We left our luggage and returned at 12:15 and a few minutes later we were told our room was ready. The room was spacious with 2 queen beds and a large bathroom. It was clean and comfortable although the air conditioning was quite noisy. The Crossroads Bar & Grille in the hotel provided an excellent buffet b... Read more

We stayed 5 nights at this hotel in November before embarking the American queen cruise up the Mississippi River. The hotel is very noisy between rooms & the housekeeping is very average . My family and I came to Sheraton Memphis Downtown Hotel for a 2 days stay. We went to the restaurant or whatever you would call it for something to eat. First we waited for approx 10-15 mins to be seated. There was hardly anyone there, but none of the waitresses bothered to approach us. It ended with us grabbing 3 menus and seated ourselves. The waitress we got showed no interest in welcoming us. Just asked what we wanted to drink. No introduction of herself, and absolutely no smile or commitmen... Read more

This is a big, impersonal convention hotel. This is the opposite of the kind of place I prefer. But we were booked into this as part of a package that was convenient for us. Lobby is nice, halls are pleasantly maintained. Didn‚??t make it to the pool area. The room was bland but nice. It could, however, have been cleaner. I always hate it when I look under the bed at the end of my stay to see if I kicked a slipper under there and find someone else‚??s trash. Yuck! My only other complain... Read more

Stopped at Sheraton Memphis downtown hotel, for two night staff very friendly pleasant hotel not a bad location handy for getting around . Be careful if you have room service the terms of room service are in such small print you need a magnifying glass to see it,because I couldn't see the terms I went to the front desk and asked what they are ,I was told they wasn't any charge which I thought was unusual, also on the menu it says you can order small salad for $2, when I questioned the bill one sal... Our room was right off the elevator which was very loud and cycled all night. One of the staff tried to charge us $5.00 for a bottle of water, that was 2.50. Breakfast was very good in the hotel but it cost as much as a dinner cost. Had to use the valet service for our car and it was only parked 30 feet away from us. There was a trolley that took us downtown which was very convienent. And the valets were very friendly and helpful with directions when we drove. The fitness room was top notch.
