I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here. The rooms were incredibly spacious, clean and comfortable. Staying here made being on the road 4-5 days a week pleasurable. It's located right on the Univ of Memphis campus and was a mere $10 Uber ride to Beale Street, and a 15-20 min drive to Graceland.

We booked 8 rooms for a family funeral. All rooms were suites w sink/fridge which facilitated visiting. The front desk manager diligently set up each room under a different name / billing info / dates. Friendly staff. Clean. Good breakfasts w coupon. Centrally located. Beautiful, spacious lobby with many seating / TV areas. Useful office center. Nice fitness center. Holiday Inn Museum was fascinating. I LOVED this hotel and will stay here first choice next visit to Memphis!

Great location when visiting the University of Memphis. We have stayed here twice and both times it was a great stay. Hotel is clean and landscaped beautifully. Will stay here again when travelling to Memphis.

When we arrived in Memphis, the complimentary hotel shuttle was delayed and then never arrived but the hotel paid for our taxi to the hotel. Whitney at the front desk was amazing and extremely helpful. After travelling America for 6 weeks, we never experienced this level of service anywhere else. This extended to the restaurant where Cameron, our server, was incredibly polite and professional - something we had also never encounter anywhere else. Both Whitney and Cameron made our stay all the mo... Read more

Super location--very easy access to the university as it is right across the street. Good parking and the shuttle was a bonus! Front desk staff had good directions to restaurants and buildings on the campus. The 2 room suite was superb--we had been on the road for business and it was nice to have a living room + separate bedroom. Atrium area was a nice place to relax, too. Staff very helpful and pleasant! Definitely would stay here again.

Had a quick overnight in Memphis and had a late check-in. Restaurant was closed, but pizza delivery and a nice spacious room made it all better! I didn't know that this hotel was also a memorabilia museum to the Holiday Inn founder - so that was a nice surprise and a nice exhibit- I think on the 2nd or 3rd floor of the hotel. Staff were friendly and helpful. I would stay here again!

We have stayed at this hotel about three times in the last year or so. The first two times our stay was very pleasant. However, not this time around. First, we booked a room with a king bed and sofa bed. There were no sheets or blankets in the room for the sofa bed. I went down to the front desk and reported it and I had the needed sheets in about ten minutes -- not bad. The missing linens are stored on top of an open closet in the room and thus in plain sight of the maid. Second, the bed was ... Read more

I had an unexpected short trip to Memphis. All the downtown hotels were booked so I thought I'd stay here. It's a beautiful hotel located on campus. My room was very clean, large and comfortable. I thought staying on the first floor might be nosey but for the 3 nights I stayed I heard nothing from my room :). The exercise room is small, but worked just fine. The bar tender is awesome and very knowledgeable about various things. He was so pleasant to talk with. Everyone I interacted with... Read more

Stayed here while taking a class at the university for a few days. It's your typical Holiday Inn. Staff are nice, the room I was in was large with a separate sitting area from the bedroom. Which had a microwave, coffee maker and fridge. The reason I gave it a three is due to cob webs in the corners of the ceiling, the carpet not being vacuumed and the toilet being dirty. The staff just makes the bed, replenishes the towels and takes out the trash. Nothing else.

This hotel needs a pool. It is too hot in Memphis not to have one. The University of Memphis pool is very nice but it is a little bit of a distance. Hotel staff told us they would have towels. Not true. Charity who works in the restaurant is very nice and professional. The food itself is below average The hotel is clean and the beds are comfortable. The staff is very friendly, which I rate it above average.

First time at this hotel... $4 uber ride to the concert. Clean rooms, unusual layout, looks like a campus remodel. Breakfast was very good. Might be a difficult hotel for handicapped travelers staying on upper floors- it's a lengthy walk from elevator to the rooms (imagine Embassy suites layout on steroids) That's not a complain, just an observation for those who might be impacted by the distance. We're staying here again for a few more shows this summer.

The hotel is directly across the street from the campus and is conveniently located near several places to eat (all within a 3-5 minute driving distance). The hotel does have a restaurant however I never visited it as it was my first time to Memphis and I wanted to sample several of the local establishments. The hotel bar is nice and offers an 'ok' selection of beers and liquors, don't order anything too fancy as I don't believe the bartender has a limited number of mixed drinks he's comfortabl... We were in Memphis to drop our son off at the University for Freshman year. The location was perfect and the pictures we saw were great, however upon checking in and seeing the room, I have to say I expected more. The size of the room was impressive but the look and level of cleanliness was not. The dirt coming off the carpet in the halls was alarming. I understand that this is a hotel that is considered a meeting center but a steam cleaner needs to be run through there. The say thing goes ... Read more

We stayed here overnight on our way to Louisiana. The person behind the desk was friendly and informative when checking in. The room was very large, with a TV room that was separate from the bedroom. Beds were comfortable. We ordered room service and got them just before the restaurant closed. Food was good and not too expensive. Enjoyed the stay even though it was just an overnighter.

My husbands, two kids and I went to our son's college for Family and Friends Weekend. This hotel is located pretty much inside the campus of the university. The rooms were great, the facilities were good, free parking. But the staff was absolute terrible! The server at breakfast was extremely rude. She spilled my coffee, never apologized and never refilled it. When my husband ask the front desk where if he could get any coffee the clerk told him that there was a Starbucks near by.

Really nice hotel, very clean and very convenient to university. Daughter had rifle match at the Tiger Open and this hotel was across central ave from campus. Great sleep with comfy beds and pillows. Staff was nice and accommodating. Only downside was the breakfast. It was so-so and really should be included in the price. Was told there was a convention, but hotel seemed rather empty.

My family of 5 stayed the night before a flight out of Memphis international. The King suite had separate rooms with a living area that included a fold out couch and LED tvs in each room. We stayed on the second floor and our room looked out into the atrium. This was a very quiet hotel for how large it was. Breakfast was included at the restaurant down stairs. The parking seemed limited but we found a space right out front. With the college located a block away this felt like a very safe e... Read more

The Holiday Inn University of Memphis is both a working hotel and part of the University's hospitality management program. The physical space itself is very impressive, with a huge open-air lobby and four stories of rooms opening onto it. The hotel staff was overall very professional and efficient - not always the case at hotels that are thus affiliated with their institutions! I really couldn't suss if the staff were students or not, and in terms of my needs, it wasn't an issue. The rooms ... Read more

Was redirected here at a late hour by an Embassy Suites that did not honor my reservation due to "an issue with the room". Not good news at 11 pm on a rainy night and worse when they tell you it is 20 minutes away. The Holiday Inn looks and feels different than most I've been to, and I've been to many. Efficient reception and no issues with the voucher. The hotel layout is a bit odd but once I got to my room I found a large (really a suite), clean and quiet room to my liking. While the location... Great location if you have someone attending the University of Memphis. Had a great time visiting our son. The hotel lobby is great, the rooms could use a little updating. We had one problem with our room the air conditioning unit started to drip from the ceiling at 11pm on our second night so that was annoying. Wait for maintenance the next day.finally moved us to a different room. The hotel room service was excellent. Thank you

My husband & I stayed at the Holiday Inn University of Memphis because our daughter lives nearby and it is very reasonable. The hotel lobby is nice and airy with multiple seating areas. We arrived early and our room was not ready as check out is at noon. However, the nice staff at the front desk offered to keep our luggage until we could check in. Our room, a king, had a sitting area with a large TV, microwave, mini fridge and Keurig with coffee makings as well as a spacious bedroom. The bed w... Read more

This was our first year to be away from home on Thanksgiving Day. We had a wonderful experience which included the spacious king suite, accommodating staff, casual seating areas in the lobby, and a delicious Thanksgiving banquet. The bed was very comfortable and every area I visited was appeared super clean.

I have stayed here in years past when my son attended UM. We were gathering for family weekend at his house in midtown but needed a bit more room. Downtown is an option but has its own issues and VRBO midtown turned out to be misrepresented. This is best option without being in east Memphis. Clean, quiet, easy parking, friendly service, and large suites.
