This was a really great place to stay. It is conveniently located, and despite the construction going on at the resort, it was not bothersome. I am of course basing that on the room we were in, which was on the 8th floor. Of course we were aware of the construction when out on our balcony but we paid it no mind. Our room was so nice and welcoming. It had a nice kitchenette and everything you need to feel right at home. We will definitely stay here again!

I can't say that I was impressed with the place. This should really be considered no more than a 4 star resort. The Pros: Having just about every appliance you could want like a washer, dryer, stove, fridge, dish washer, and blender was nice. The couch was a hide-away bed which is useful if you have a kid and don't want to put them in their own room. The Cons: Virtually no walkability and bad resort layout: The cabins are all right next to each other in 3 lines that all wind up the mountain, w... Read more

I booked my stay for this great hotel about 3 weeks prior to arriving. I got a really nice price over the phone during Mothers day weekend. the phone agent was very helpful and offered me such a fantastic deal without having to attend their " timeshare" which was nice, because I don't like those anyway. they do have 3 separate pools on the property with hot tubs without even entering the indoor water park which is an additional cost per day. the room was clean and cozy and we received an upgrade... This place was a complete dissappoiment from check in. A time share purchase is their top priority. The quality of the room looks like it hasn't had upgraded in the last 10 years. To top it off we had a severe leak under our kitchen sink that would've taken many hours to repair. We were on vacation and certainly didn't ant to deal with a repairman in our room as we had just gotten back from an all day outing. We opted for them to come back after check out the next day and was told by maintenanc... Read more

Mason Jar...Sarah Powell was friendly efficient knowledgeable and kind. She was attentive and helpful. She made our dining experience great! As for the rest of our stay...I felt that the attention to detail in our rooms was poor. There were things in disrepair. Not to mention it took over 4 hours to have our room ready. The improvements to the grocery store are fantastic while the fitness center has had only one 30lb dumbbell for the better part of a decade. The maintenance of the equipment is ... Read more

We are currently staying at Westgate. We are with owners, so we have been able to enjoy some of the owners amentities which is nice. Our room is very nice. We have a one bedroom, so our kids are able to sleep on the pull out couches and we can have our own space. It is nice that the bedroom also has an extra chair to sit in and a TV so we do not have to go to bed at the same time as our young children. We agreed to come and sit through a timeshare presentation. We were genuinely interested in hearing what they had to offer. We were set up with a young salesman named Corey. We were pretty excited to see all their amenities and to see if it could fit our travel needs. It was hands down the worst place we have ever stayed. Now don't get me wrong, they had some nice amenities (mini-golf, mountain top pool, gas grills, clean rooms with gas logs and washer and dryers). The "worst" part came from rude and just plain bad customer service from booking to check-in to other dealings with staff. We had to reschedule our stay due to a death in the family. We found this resort to be ideal for accessing most of our Smoky Mountain hikes. The décor is perfect for a mountain resort. We were introduced to our "personal concierge" on check in who was very personable and took us to our room. Time Share scam, A.V.O.I.D. These people conned my parents who pre-paid for their room, forcing them to sit through a 90 minute (which lasted 2 and a half hours) sales pitch in order to receive their advertised free wi-fi. Cabinets in the room were busted, wallpaper was peeling, sloppy patch jobs falling off the walls, mold in the bathrooms. Jacuzzi was broken, pool was filfthy, staff unhelpful. And to top it off the hotel was noisy the whole trip. A terrible hotel, do not fall for their tricks.

We went there just to do a breakfast and just to sit thru the sales pitch for discount tickets for Dixie stampede. Well, we ended up going thru with a purchase to their timeshare. We loved what they had to offer. The idea of not having to go every year to the same place and the get away trips we can take. Knowing they have a spa and movie theater, restaurant and 60,000 square foot indoor water park. They have an awesome game room just something forneveryone. Very pleased!

Our 5 night stay at this resort was very scenic but due to the large amount of people (resort was filled to capacity ) the resort was not that relaxing. The property is very appealing to eye. But that is where it stops. Family of four three pillows and less than adequate towels. Called for more two hours later they show up. The cost is outrageous when everything is extra. Nice water park for an additional fee per person. Putt Putt nine hole course for an extra fee. Wifi is difficult to access. Parking is atrocious. My stay here has always been outstanding. Absolutely no complaints. If you are traveling with children, I suggest you stay on the lower part of the grounds where the swing set is and pool. For adults only, stay on the higher level, 400 and up. You'll get a better appreciation of the resort and an outstanding view. We have been staying with Westgate since 2005. Always received 2 parking passes never a question. This year we invited our daughter and son in law and their 2 year old. At check in we were given one parking pass. I asked for a second and was told since we had a one bed room we could only have one and would have to park the second car in the overflow at the top of the mountain or at the water park. The resort is extremely nice. A lot of things to do at the resort, but parking is only at 80%. If you get back late you are in the 20% who must park in the next county. If you stay here and get back to your accommodations by 7pm you are fine. If later no parking within 1500 feet. They have a shuttle I am told, never saw one.

This place will never see me again. Someone had broken the shower door so staff put up a shower curtain. Part of the broken door was still in place and there was mold on the curtain. WIFI is $25 for three days. The fan in the bathroom was broken. We could hear people talking in the unit next to ours. When people walked in the unit above us, it sounded like they were in our room. There is only one positive feedback I can give, a beautiful view of the mountains (depending on your cabin). When we entered our cabin it was hot and muggy. A very unique hotel, the rooms/villas are built into the side of the mountain, the accommodation is very good, clean large with cooking facilities and a lovely views across the valley, the only drawback was the wifi signal was poor and considering you have to pay for it should have been better. The pool is at the top of the mountain with great views, and it stays open until 10pm. If you don't mind heights it's definitely a great place to stay.

The unit we were assigned had no way to see outside. There were windows on one side but they looked out at a wall and up under the front of cars. We asked for another unit with a balcony and were told could not be done. Serious traffic and parking problems here. Streets are very steep and narrow. We feel that we wasted this trip to Gatlinburg as well as several hundred dollars.

We didn't visit the waterpark but enjoyed the quiet resort. The only reason I didn't rate it a 5 is because the pool by our hotel was way over crowded with swimmers each night. I'm not sure if they need to add pools closer to the top but with building I hope the do.

Terrible place to stay we where visiting Gatlinburg when we were bombarded by westgate employees to come and get a free breakfast and free ripleys tickets this was our first family vacation we had no idea about these resorts they said 30 min is all it would take ! But it took over 4 hrs they took advantage of us by feeding us lies and promises that were not true they had put so much pressure on us to buy we didn't know any better we got sucked in they told us we had 5 days to change our mind the... Arrived to a very busy but efficient check in. We were assigned Curtis as a concierge he was very helpful and pleasant. Our suite looked fabulous and was clean. A welcome buffet was provided with an exuberant staff. Upon returning to or room the nightmares began. Apparently not sound proofing was built into this place. We could clearly hear normal conversation from both ajoining rooms. The next morning our "free" WiFi was shut off but could be purchased for $9.99 a day. We declined but we're c... Read more

Having come here almost every year for 10 years, I can count negative experiences on one hand. Smiles are on all the employees faces and they are quick to help in any way. From Brandi at the store to Heather, our concierge, we were very well treated. Being a bartender for 25 years and a big football fan forever, I spent some time in the Mason Jar Sports Bar. Our new friends, Sarah, Jess and especially Lisa Stoner were on top of the patrons every need. Thanks ladies from me and Gay Kinser, for al... Read more

We stayed two weeks and had a good experience. The staff were nice and helpful. The rooms were clean and neat. But we could hear the guest on either side of us. The TV reception was terrible and channel selection was very limited. Their was no TV guide of any kind. And luggage carts were no where in site. Overall a good stay.

If you have never gone to the smoky mountains you haven't lived! A must see in the fall! Easy driving to down town Gatlinburg or Pigeon Forge. So very much to do, weather your with family, friends or by yourself.

This is our second time staying at Westgate. Initially we had booked a two bedroom but when we arrived we were put in a one bedroom with a pull out couch. Maria was super accommodating and upgraded us quickly so that we wouldn't spend all day trying to fix the issue. We could however hear all the noise from the neighbors and I have read other post stating the same. Our beds weren't made and towels not replenished so I am not sure if they are supposed to do that or not. Also they say you can buy... Read more

Room was nice, but the fireplace did not work and the jets in the tub were dirty. This is a timeshare and they will rope you in with free stuff for a 90 minute meeting that really last 3+ hours. Their restaurant is awful as well.

From check in to check out this was a great resort. The staff is very friendly and welcoming. We were checked in by Kyla Johnson and she was excellent. I was very pleased with the room. It was exactly like the pictures on the website show. The kitchen had everything you would need. We ate at the smokey grill restaurant and their food was pretty good. The town was so pretty at night, lit up with lights all over the place. I would highly ecommend this resort.

Check in felt hectic, but since then every staff member has been super friendly. Our villa is very comfortable and has everything we could need. This resort is in the perfect location between downtown Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge. Unfortunately, they do not have recycling here, which is very bothersome considering all the beauty around they should be doing their part to preserve.

Spent a four day weekend at this resort. The accommodations are very nice. The one bedroom deluxe has a great big jacuzzi that was used nightly after long hikes in the national park and zip lining adventures. The bed was EXTREMELY comfortable which is so important when traveling. The resort is really lovely with a mountain top infinity pool. So pretty. The staff is so accommodating and ready to help out with any need. A few complaints: after a full day we wanted to be in the room in the eve... Read more

We had a wonderful time at the Westgate resort. Charles Couvillier showed us to our room and helped us get all set up. Everything was clean and the plays had spectacular views. We enjoyes the many amenities that they had to offer. Our children loved the indoor water park and we used the hot tubs out near the pools every night.

We had a great stay aside from the hot water heater not heating enough fill the bathtub up past your feet. I wanted to relax after a long day in Pigeon Forge and couldnt take a bath and had to get out cold and disapointed. When brought to the hotels attention i was told i would have to take it up with expedia because thats who i booked with and expedia told me the opposite. So, i spent over 500 for two nights unable to take a hot bath and was offered nothing but a run around. Oh but you guys gav... Read more

We reserved our week in the studio unit for Thanksgiving. Due to the noise from the units on top and next to us, we left three days early. We nicknamed the kid upstairs, Thunderfoot, and if I didn't know better, I would swear there was a pool table next door. The only other sound that I could compare it to was the sound of cans dropping from a drink machine over and over. The noise was continuous, and I called management. Prior to 10:00 pm, they refused to take any action. After 10:00 they said ... Read more

From the pictures on the internet and the pricing we thought this was going to be a really nice place to stay. At $223 per night we were very misled. Don't let the pictures fool you. No continental breakfast, no amenities really and it was a step back in time - not in a good way. This place needs major renovations to get into the century. It is a great location in the strip but that's what you pay for.

I have read many of the reviews, and although I respect the right of entitlement of everyone's opinions, I feel some exaggerate. This is a beautiful resort! It fits quite well the mountain theme. The customer service is excellent, staff are super nice and attentive. The location is great! The salesman that attended us, Steve, was awesome. The girls loved the place. I am definitely looking forward to coming back next year. Bottom line: If you're high maintenance, and expect a Hilton City 5 star... Read more

The resort doesn't allow arriving before 4 pm and checks out is at 10 am (60.00 fees if you are after 10 am), and we got there at 4:15 pm. The lobby was overflowing with people, and we thought the pre-registration would make it go faster, one hour later we are headed to the room. We absolutely love this place, and plan on coming back every year. This is the second time I have stayed here. There are many things to do at the resort itself. My 9 year old and 12 year old son's loved it here. The water park was so much fun and they loved it. We tried out the different pools on site, mini golf, game room and the cook out. I would recommend this place to anyone. It is very convenient to both Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg.

Missing shower curtain and bedding material. Had to call. Looks as if housekeeping never cleaned from the last visitors. Poor overall cleanliness and maintenance.
