The positive first: very friendly and efficient staff. Front desk, restaurant and bar all extremely helpful. The not so good: Rooms are just ok. unlike many hotels, if you get two beds, they are small double beds. (this is in description but most hotels now have 2 queens). No refrigerator or microwave as others noted. upgraded to upper floor but wifi not good there. Restaurant is expensive but we are platinum IHG members and our rate included breakfast which was quite good. parking is $... Read more

We were visiting for granddaughter's graduation (last at this place her freshman year) and it's a perfect location and offers shuttle service within 2-3 miles. Adjacent to walkable World's Fair Park, can walk from there on Greenway all the way to the river. Our kids always stayed here while visiting because you can walk to football starium. An easy walk to Market Square with its many appealing restaurants, music during the week during the summer and Saturday Farmer's Market. Unfortunately th... Read more

My family and I stayed here for my cousins college graduation. It was centrally located within several stores and restaurants. Check in was a breeze and our hotel room was very nice and clean. One of my key cards did not work, which the hotel staff took care of that. We took advantage of the free shuttle service to get around town. My mom got a kick out of the coffee maker in the bathroom. So if you want coffee, you'll have to make a pot of it in the bathroom (lol). For the price we paid for the... Read more

It was easy to find the hotel with easy parking, really friendly man check-in, nice comfortable room although the decor is a little dated. Great location too, easy to walk downtown for food or sightseeing and right next to the Sunsphere. I would recommend it.

Hotel was nice. Room clean. Was disappointed that there was a fee for parking at the hotel though and the pet policy seemed high. 50$ for a small dog and I had my own crate. My dog was almost attacked by 2 large aggressive dogs getting off the elevator with their owners. It caused a little bit of a scene in the lobby. All the dogs were on leashes of course, but it scared everyone that witnessed it. Overall nice place and would recommend it.

Very disappointed in the quality & amenities of this hotel. This has been the worst stay I have ever experienced for a Holiday Inn. The $10 charge for parking is bad enough, but the attendant is one of the rudest people I have met in my 1 week stay here. Then to be charged a $7 a day fee for a refrigerator is unreal. The restaurant has a very limited menu & the buffet is one I wouldn't feed my family. I had to argue with them to have an $8 dollar buffet charge removed as he was only 2 yrs old & ... Read more

My husband and I stayed here again for a Father's Day getaway. It was gay pride weekend so we expected it to be pretty crazy and busy. There was also a gymnastics event. Thankfully, neither event caused hectic traffic. The stay was very enjoyable! The construction on Cumberland was quite annoying and extremely slow. I'd avoid it like the plague! The food and service was superb; both at the restaurant and through room service. They had renovated the front desk since our last visit. Nice upgrade!... Read more

Our room was clean...nothing fancy but overall a decent room. There was a bit of a strong smell of chlorine when we first arrived in our room. Hotel is located just off highway. You can easily walk to market square, the river walk, the sun-sphere, the university is close by as well. The common areas and rooms are very clean. Rooms are spacious. No microwave or mini fridge like some folks like. Rooms seems to have been updated recently and are also climate controlled with your room key. We checked in and asked for a room as high (8 floors) as they could get us. We had heard about the road noise and wanted to get away from it. The desk clerk, who was not very friendly, gave us the 4th floor next to the highway. She said all the other rooms were full. PLEASE! If my husband had not been so tired I would have moved hotels. The staff at this hotel was very welcoming. The room was very spacious, but the bathroom was a bit small. The shower pressure was a bit wimpy. We were very comfortable. I would recommend asking for a room on the World's Fair Park side. We were on the downtown side and there was a lot of street noise. The location is close to Market Street restaurants and shops, and also to UT campus.

The staff at this hotel are amazing. Especially, the servers at the breakfast buffet. One server actually suggested that we get one buffet between the two of us when we indicated that we were small eaters! If you are LUCKY, you will meet up with a server named Vaenell.

If you enjoy running, the World's fair park is just outside the hotel. You can cut through this scenic park, and then head up the street just a block and then run through the campus, and then down to the river along the waterfront path. Only one major road to cross if you plan in right. Hotel was what you expect from a Holiday Inn. Clean and comfortable. There is a coffee shop in the lobby, convenient to grab your joe before heading out. Nightlife of downtown just a short walk up the hill.

Hotel was clean and the staff was wonderful! We received especially great service at the breakfast buffet. Host welcomed us and seated us at a table with a smile. Then our server, Varnell, went out of his way to make certain we had everything we wanted. He was extremely kind. Plus the omelets tasted amazing! Kudos to the cook.

Very impressed with this outstanding staff. Room is clean and nice. Restaurants are a step higher than most hotel restaurants. Again - the staff has been outstanding from check in, to dinner, to breakfast. This is my first stay in this hotel and I will definitely return. I recommend this hotel to any business travelers.

While rooms are nice and updated, the service is poor, inattentive and below par, and even from a higher floor you can hear the trains' horn tearing through your sweetest sleep. For the price there may be better alternatives in the area.

The hotel is walking distance to all of the attractions Knoxville has to offer. The hotel itself overlooks Worlds Fair Park and the Stratosphere. It is also across the street from the University of Tennessee Convention center and facilities. The Farmers Market and downtown were only a few blocks away as well. The area next to the hotel is currently under construction, but don't be discouraged by the outdoor appearance. The hotel was clean, and the staff was very pleasant.

I remember when this hotel was being built during the 1982 World's Fair. When I heard I had to stay here for a conference, the locals kept telling me, "It's been renovated. It's really nice now," so I was optimistic. It's an ample place to stay but far from really nice. The pros: Great location with super greenspace, convenient to convention center, close restaurants, easy parking, nice lobby, nice staff. The cons: Pet-friendly so you get that sticky carpet feel, external/open closet in your r... Read more

I got a really good deal at this hotel so wasn't expecting much for what I paid however over my whole 4 weeks I spent in the USA this was one of the best. Hotel was clean and beds were comfortable and its only a short walk to the main shopping area. I couldn't fault the staff either. The staff were super friendly and helped me with everything I needed even down to the smallest things like change for the washing machines or calling me a taxi. They also had a shuttle to take you within a radius an... Read more

Our family of 4 visited Knoxville for a UT game. We loved this stay at Holiday Inn as it was within walking distance to Neyland. The hotel is super clean and the room was large. We loved dining with Varnell and Dennis each morning as they made breakfast delicious and memorable! They are the most friendly staff ever! We cannot wait to return!

You are right in the heart of downtown knoxville Id stay there again if passing through. Not just front desk were friendly, so were the restaurant, housekeeping and car park employees! Credit to ...
