My group of about 20 stayed at this inn for 5 days and we received such great service! Ariel in particular made everyone feel especially welcome, and we were sad to leave her. Seriously, she needs an award for her incredible attention to hospitality! The cleaning crew and front desk staff members were also exceptional about making our stay comfortable. We had everything we needed.

Great rooms. Great service. Valet parking guys were awesome. I'd stay here again. It was easy check in and easy check out. Everyone wanted to make sure my stay was good. I appreciated that the parking folks made that whole thing easier.

Hilton hotels. Used to be consistent. You get honors status. You expect a breakfast voucher. And then you go to the Hilton Garden Inn in Knoxville and find that they don't do that. $10 valet parking mandatory. Not unusual and advertised in advance. But when you book a hotel and expect certain things with a chain and are denied, you feel betrayed. Hampton Inn--always breakfast. Hilton Hotel sometimes, and usually continental breakfast comped with Honors. This is the first Garden Inn I have staye... Read more

We were in town to visit UT Knoxville. The college recommended this hotel. The room was clean, as well as the elevator, lobby and dining area. The staff was friendly and helpful. The breakfast was good. Checking in and out went smoothly. Thank you. Will stay again when in town.

The hotel is well maintained, the rooms are spacious, and the bathrooms are spa like! Flat screen tv, microwave, & frig in all rooms, free wi-fi, ample places to charge your electronics. All parking is valet, at an extra $10/night. This is a good thing because parking is scarce and you wouldn't be able to find entrance to parking garage on your own anyway. Literally across street from campus, walking distance to several fast food or sit down restaurants, and there is a Wal-Greens across the ... Read more

Elevator and ice machine noises kept us up all night. Plenty of rooms available! Very disappointed since reservation was made well in advance. Parking not ideal as you must valet - and tip - each time you come and go!

I was traveling with a large group of teens for an event at UT. We were there for a week and the staff never lost its enthusiasm for service. It didn't matter if it was early in the morning or late at night, everyone was friendly and helpful!

Most of this hotel met my expectations for a Hilton Garden. The location for visiting UT was great. However, the bathroom had a pocket door that would not stay closed all the way. Also, it has a frosted glass window that allowed light to shine through (in addition to shining through the space where it wouldn't close). This woke us up when the other would use the bathroom.

Visited last month for Destination Imagination Global Finals at UT with an amazing group of kids who were treated wonderfully during their stay here. Breakfast and dinners were served daily and hosted by the most amazing staff. Ariel was the most enthusiastic, fun and energetic hostess and could not have made our group feel more welcome and cared for. She went over and above to care for the group during meals and called out a few special birthday celebrations which made the kids feel so speci... Read more

This was the second time that my family had stayed at this hotel within a month after carrying our daughter to summer school. Each time we had to be moved due to the fact the rooms were not cleaned. They were in an unhealthy state in which I would never stayed at this hotel again.

Very convenient to UTK. Upside is free shuttle service to Market Square until 9:00. Downside is no self parking. The hotel room was clean but the floor in bath was sticky. The door to the bathroom slides and is glass. It may look frosted but with the light on you can see every detail of person in bathroom reflected in closet mirror. That might not be ok for all travel companions. Also, I hate hotels without a bathroom fan so the room gets steamy when you shower.

Hotel is great, close to where I needed to be. The hotel is also centrally located, and you can get anywhere you want to go quickly. There is construction on the Main Street but that did not cause any issues for me. Staff is great, valets were all nice and got vehicle to you quickly. Rooms were neat and clean.

Hilton Knoxville Cumberland Avenue - I 'm a 30 year Hyatt Platinum Gold Passport member. Thought I'd try Hilton since the Hyatt closed. In 30 years of traveling I have never had a reservation rate change from my email confirmation, until now!! I had 6 rooms booked, when I arrived half of the rooms were not available. To add insult to injury, the lady who booked the rooms told the manager she made the mistake with the discounted rate he didn't care. This is where it really gets ridiculous...woke... Read more

We reserved a double queen as there are 2 adults and 2 children. They overbooked the hotel, so they gave us a king with a pull out couch. The pullout coach serves one, so three had to be in the King. Due to my son's flopping I didn't sleep a wink. Plus, they didn't have sheets for the pullout. When I spoke with the front desk person the next morning to let them know how dissatisfied I was for the stay, she said the manager would contact me regarding the issue. I have not yet received the call.

The people working at the hotel, the valet, the shuttle driver, etc. were AWESOME! Very friendly and attentive. Hotel lobby and eating area were very nice. The room we stayed in had a very strong odor around the toilet that seemed to be covered up by a strong cherry scent. I'm not sure which of those smells were worse. Other than the odor and some packaging paper from previous guests, our stay was wonderful.

Despite the local street construction, this hotel is conveniently located off the 11 and 70 in downtown Knoxville. Front desk was very friendly and accommodating. Parking is an extra cost and it's valet parking only but, reasonable. Valet staff super helpful and nice especially since the weather was extremely hot. Rooms decorated with style, clean and comfortable. Always a pleasure staying at a Hilton hotel.

I don't know if I would classify my complaint as staff related or facilities related. The first night I found a dirty, still wet towel and washcloth in my shower. I reported this to the front desk, and they seemed concerned. Then, the next night there was no rug in the bathroom, so I had to use a towel. Then, there was no hot water for our showers. When i checked out, the front desk person didn't ask how i enjoyed my stay. I was hoping to give feedback, and I was irked that he didn't bother to a... Read more

The hotel itself is very nice. Actually getting to the front door and checking in is a hassle. It is NOT the fault of the hotel chain. Lots of construction all around the hotel has made is difficult to find your way to the front entrance. The hotel is a valet parking only hotel. I rarely, if ever write reviews, but I just had to compliment Larry (the Manager) as well as many of the other staff members at the Hilton Garden Inn. We booked on the phone and were not given the full price plus extras as requested. Said on site parking when booked but was valet parking only at an extra $10.00 per night. Hotel was in a poor section of Knoxville so leaving the vehicle was not ideal. Rooms were noisy with heavily closing doors on all rooms and overall experience was disappointing for the price. Hotel General Manager Larry Goings is a hands on manager that takes charge of issues and resolves in a fair and timely manner. The $10 valet charge is a real bargain as ballgame parking can be as high as $ 40.00 . The hotel also has a van to take you anywhere within three miles and comes back and get you. HGI University was a good hotel with only two complaints. First, they must valet your car because they have no surface parking. This is difficult in a college town where guests are back and forth to meals, events, moving students in and out of dorms or apartments, and running errands. Second, the cost per night was rather high for a non-conference football weekend.

This is the best hotel to stay at if your are doing anything involved with the The University of Tennessee - Knoxville. You can't beat the location. The valet parks your car and you don't need it again until you leave to go home. The is the only hotel that my stays at while visiting our daughter. Just remember that you need to make your reservations early on football weekends.
