We visited Knoxville in order to attend our son's graduation from the University of Tennessee. The young lady who checked us in was very pleasant. Our room was clean and everything worked well. The breakfast buffet exceeded my expectations. Hot biscuits and gravy and strawberry waffles on Saturday and bacon and eggs on Sunday.

Very nice, clean, price $30-40 less that some other hotels in Knoxville are. We are Choice Hotel members and received a free gift on check in. Resturants near by. Just off I-75 north of Knoxville. Met my wife's approval so had to be ok. she said we would stay here again so that means it is all right. Breakfast was ok except no eggs.

This was a nice place to stay while on business. The room was affordable, although a little small. The breakfast was excellent! Easy to get to as it was right off the interstate and off a side road so you didn't have traffics noise. Staff was very friendly.

This wasn't an extravagant hotel, but the value was great for what you received. The place was clean, and the check-in/out process was easy and quick. The only thing I would have preferred was that breakfast on the weekend was as early as it is during the week. It begins and hour later, and since we had a graduation to attend, this was not very convenient. However, a couple of items...yogurt, cereal...were available.

First, I stayed here twice. Once when heading north to visit family, and the second time while we were heading home. So, I'll write this review averaging the two visits. The hotel room we were in, and the grounds appeared well maintained. Check-in was okay. We're Choice Privileges Platinum reward members. On the first check-in, I was recognized as a Platinum Choice Privileges member, and given a bag with snacks in as a welcome gift. I was also given a room on the fifth floor, with a nice ... Read more

Stayed for a weekend for softball tournament. Pros Free breakfast was good with decent selection. Staffing was friendly and polite. Non smoking hotel. Which was great. Lobby was well done homey and inviting. Cons Walls in halls were pretty banged up by elevators. Minor issues in room. Grout missing in shower walls both tub and sink drains had top piece removed and sitting to the side. We asked for roll away for our daughter. They stated they didn't have any even though their room directory ... Read more

I was very impressed with this hotel. We stayed two nights here while our daughter attended softball camp at UT . Our two night stay was around $170.00 total tax included. We were less than 5 miles from the school. Hotel was very clean . Our room was very clean . Beds were very comfortable. They have breakfast available. Waffles, eggs, country ham,English muffins, biscuits, cereal and yogurt are available. Very affordable and nice. Will definitely stay here again on our next trip to Knoxville

Not much to it. Basic needs met, but no mini fridge, no microwave. All the room have a balcony but can barely fit a chair. Interstate side was pretty loud. There was a spotlight shining on the hotel and couldn't draw the curtains so the room couldn't get too dark. Air worked really well and were given a snack bag.

This hotel is clean! Comfortable bed, microwave, fridge, coffee maker, and friendly staff. The lighting isn't that good but everything else is. This is the best Choice hotel we've stayed in under $70 a night!

Ask for a refrigerator/microwave--we checked in, discovered not in our room--very gracious & moved us---move landed us on motel side away from interstate so the window to small standing deck was quiet---personnel nice--breakfast was above average for the "free" label--ample area to eat--room charge on 7/2/16 was $65.42 total w/ tax--clean & worth it.

When we arrived at 6am we were told that we couldn't check in until 3pm. (The website said check in stopped at 7am and resumed again at 3pm). So needless to say we had time wait and find something to do. (We just drove 10 and half hours). When we were finally able to check in, we were told our room was ready only to find it was not. We were given a different room and assured it was ready and yet again it was not. Then we were given one excuse after another as to why the rooms were not clean. We ... Read more

Room was clean and spacious. The bed was very comfortable. Wifi was spotty at times, but a big storm was passing through that could have affected it. The breakfast was as expected for a Choice Hotel brand, plentiful and fresh.

Standards are personalized and some things that bother me are totally acceptable for others. That said here were the things that bothered me: moldy/stale smell in the room, scratchy blankets, small uncomfortable beds, stained/dirty furniture-everywhere, unkept pool area with the smallest towels, balcony door wouldn't open. I could go on but then I would sound hotel snobbyš??¬. I did think the hotel staff was super friendly. The breakfast area was well stocked with a more continental feel rather ... Read more

The room was surface cleaned but could use a deep cleaning including walls, doors, furniture and bathroom caulking. Recliner chair had broken back. Room quite small. Common areas in need of cleaning, polishing and maintenance. Noise from interstate was excessive as other reviewers have mentioned. Breakfast was satisfactory and plentiful although no one cleaned up tables and guests were left to wipe up their table before eating.

We stayed two nights as part of a campus visit for my daughter who is considering UT. Rate was very reasonable, and room was as expected for the price. Location was convenient to the university. Only complaints we had are that the beds are small, and if you stay on the side closest to the highway, the noise is very noticeable. It was clean and safe, and breakfast was a good quick snack to start the day.

The room was clean and the beds were comfortable. The morning breakfast was good. I do think the couch in the lobby needed attention and the arms were dirty and in need of cleaning. The chair rail was chipped and in need of painting. The computer system was out because of a storm and I was told that I couldn't be checked in until it came up. After waiting 30 to 45 minutes I ask the clerk if she could call Maine Stay across the street to see if they had openings and all of a sudden I could be che... Read more

There are a lot of hotels in this area and I'm glad I chose this one. The room was clean and the furnishings are in good condition. The staff was courteous and despite the help wanted sign I saw no indication that they were understaffed. I didn't have time to go to the pool but it drew a large crowd. The breakfast was better than average also. Don't hesitate to book this hotel. I will be back in Knoxville and this is where i'll stay.

Great price, easy location. Should not be a Clarion level hotel for Choice brands. More along the lines of a Quality Inn. No microwave/fridge in room. No blackout curtains. Only sheer curtains that allowed all light in. WiFi did not work AT ALL Room was clean and staff was courteous and hospitable.

We took a chance on this hotel, because all surrounding 3 star hotels were priced outrageously high. This hotel was very clean, lobby was well-appointed, pool area and pool were clean and tidily arranged. The room was a bit more basic than I prefer, but certainly very suitable for 1 night. It was very clean and the bathroom was spotless. They had better towels than I've experienced in some 4 star hotels. Breakfast area became very busy at the 8 o'clock time frame and we had to leave before ... Read more

As a Choice Privileges member, I have been pretty disappointed in the choice hotels that I've stayed at recently. Their website makes it sound like such a great place, but you are sadly disappointed when you arrive. So, when I booked this hotel with reward points, I wasn't expecting much. However, I was pleasantly surprised to find a nice clean room, a quiet night of sleep, and a very nice breakfast in a clean and spacious dining area. And the lady at the front desk was very friendly too! What a... Read more

Needed a place on the way home, and it worked for the night. Room was relatively clean, and it was less than staying in one of the tourist trap places near Gatlinburg. Room was clean, and the Hotel staff were friendly. Breakfast wasn't bad either.

The beds were comfortable and the rooms were clean. Our room was near the freeway, and I was awaken several times to the noise. They offered a variety of fresh fruit for breakfast. I got a strawberry waffle with bacon which was good.

I was in Knoxville to make a condolence visit and spent two nights at this location. It is an older property but generally has been maintained. Friendly staff, good location and easy on the wallet. I really enjoyed the shower.

Made a phone reservation with Orbitz for the Merchant Center hotel in Knoxville. Asked specifically if there was a pet fee. The Orbitz rep checked and said pets were free and were allowed if they were under 20 lbs. When we checked in at 6PM I mentioned our dog and was told that they charged an extra $20 fee for pets. When I protested, the desk clerk insisted that Clarion had problems with Orbitz giving out wrong information re the pet fee. I refused to pay the added charge. Only after a 15 min co... Read more

For a one night stay, traveling from Michigan to Tampa, Clarion room was adequate. Bathroom clean, room spacious. Ask for a room with refrigerator / microwave if you want one. Breakfast is free,so don't expect gourmet ; at free ham too salty, waffles ok, but there is fresh fruit, yogurt and cereal options.

When I booked this hotel, I read many reviews and decided to go ahead and book because the hotel had received good reviews. I also received a coorporate discount. When my husband and I checked in and got to our room, we were highly disappointed. First of all the room was so small, the smallest king size room I've ever stayed in. The bathtub was black on the bottom and if the cleaning staff cleaned everyday like they should, the tub would not have been black. I've never seen a hotel bathtub like ... Read more

We have stayed at this hotel for years going to and from Florida but it has steadily gone downhill. The first room backed onto I-75 ,had a balcony door that did not close properly and had no lock - room 220. We declined to stay in that room. Our next room was at the front of the hotel away from the traffic noise. The carpet was not clean and had what looked like gum stuck to it and was torn in places. Fortunately I had brought slippers. The whole room looked as tired as we were after a 14 hour dr... Read more
