Where to start? While the building is beginning to show its age a little, it's a minor issue when compared with the wonderful staff. They were super co-operative, friendly and helpful, from Andrew Capps the Sales and Marketing Manager to Fred the nighttime security guard and all the folks behind the desk, in the breakfast room and the room cleaning staff. Anything we asked for, we got immediately. The rooms were perfectly cleaned daily and the free breakfast was better than most hotels. Saus... Read more

We have been staying at this Hotel twice a year for over 14 years. This Hotel used to be great. The last two times we stayed the bathrooms and the outside doors have mold on them and the tub and sink don`t drain good, and the tub drain stoppers are always broke. The pool is never heated. This hotel is also charging a $15.00 per day resort fee on top of the over priced room rates. We will be staying at other locations.

This hotel is very conveniently located on the parkway with easy walking access to basically everything in Gatlinburg. The hotel is nice and clean, and the rooms are a good size. My one complaint is the Wi-Fi is not the best if you have more than one device you plan on using. The views are nice and it is relaxing to sit on the balcony and look at the mountains.

If you want to be on the parkway to view all the hustle and bustle from the comfort of your balcony a few floors up, you can't go wrong with the Clarion. The hotel's facade and lobby are updated and very presentable. Our rooms were on the second floor with one view of the parkway and the other of the parking lot and swimming pool hut across the lot. I regret to say the wallpaper was peeling, there was a huge hole in the wall inside the closet, and the carpet was rumpled and smelly, plus there... Read more

I could be defined as a Marriott/Hilton snob. I have stayed in one Clarion hotel before and it was unacceptable.but when VRBO stood up my reservation and could not book me in a town that was nearly sold out, the Clarion was situated perfectly on the strip for my needs. We had three adults and two teenage boys which fit nicely in a suite with two queen beds and a queen pullout sofa. Our balcony overlooked the strip (Parkway) and the room was stocked with a refrigerator and coffee maker. The recep... Read more

First let me say, great customer service from Bob, one of the workers. Also, I love the breakfast being served rather than everyone serving themselves. Drawbacks: dirty carpet and walls full of patches and mismatched wallpaper, elevator operation issues ( stuck twice while we were there), "outdoor pool" isn't truly outdoors just an indoor pool with a cover, parking is limited, and linens on the bed were dirty especially the bed skirt.

We have been staying at the Clarion for years. The location is great. Right on the parkway, almost across from the aerial tram. Calhoun's and Cherokee Grill are right next door. The rooms are consistently good, and we have not experienced some of issues others on here have noted. Last stay was two nights ago, and the staff and room was as good as it has ever been. Easy in and out parking. Cooked to order breakfast with omelet bar saved us both money and time for other things. Will stay th... Read more

The hotel itself is in a good location at the end of the strip in Gatlinburg. The balconies over the street are awesome, and they are really great when the Fourth of July parade and the New year's parade goes down the street. The king, 2 room suite was beautiful and large. I think it is time for a refresh of the carpet, but it wasn't dirty. I just expect when paying that much to have newer things. The only real complaint was the elevators. The staff at this hotel were terrific. We stayed on the 6th floor. Room was very clean but the remodel job wasn't the greatest. The rooms were nice and the breakfast was great, the location close to the National Park is also great. After staying for 3 days, we were presented with a bill with a $45 "Hotel Service Fee" on it. When we inquired about it we were told it was a $15 a day fee for 24 hour coffee (it's not that great), parking and security. We decided last minute to spend July 4th weekend in Gatlinburg. Hotel space was selling out quickly and we found one room available at the Clarion Inn and Suites. Luckily, it was facing the street rather than the pool, which was what we wanted. Staff was more than friendly and helpful. The staff was very friendly. The location is great with free parking. The Inn needs a definite overhaul. The pictures online lead one to believe it is very modern and up-to-date but I knew immediately upon entering the the hallway with popcorn ceilings that we could be in trouble, especially for paying with tax $200.00 plus per night. There was some water damage and minor things, but what do you expect. They can't keep up on everything. We had a hard time staying connected to the wifi with iPhones and a laptop. There were so many things wrong with the hotel mechanically (ice machine not working, shower was a nightmare to adjust - lots of lukewarm showers, etc.) -- however, the staff was attentive and didn't try to sidestep the issues. They weren't fixed before we left but at least they were nice and helpful. The lobby was wonderfully decorated (it was Christmas)! The best thing was the location! First, you pay an additional resort fee, which is absurd for this budget type motel. Wifi is awful, and the exercise room was a joke with old equipment and treadmill that did not work. Save your money and stay somewhere else for 100 dollars less a night and receive the same budget service.
