It is farther to walk than we like. We usually like to stay right up in the action of the parkway. It was not bad the the price. We will probably not choose this place again. They are a little stingy on the towels and real stingy on the soap and shampoo. There was not even any tissues and a partial roll of toilet tissue. Outdated and not well kept up. There was a bear in the parking lot. One visitor said they drove all day thru the mountains looking for a bear and seen one right at the ... Read more

So where to start? Ok the hotel says recently remodeled. Thats a stretch to say the least. The room smells musty and is dimly lit. It has sheet rock mud fixing holes everywhere. The air conditioner is so loud that we had to turn it off because it kept waking our baby. I tried to call the front desk to ask directions from them but the phone doesnt work. The beds had bugs in them idk what kind? The comforter had a large red stain on it? Blood? The neighbors had barking dogs all night. When i compl... Read more

We visit the area a few times a year, this being the Fall leaf season all the motels were quite a bit more that usual. It was a beautiful day, and a porch overlooking the river sounded really pleasant. The rooms with 2 beds in them or a double bed were taken , but she offered us a good deal on one of the little log cabins. It was very small but had everything you need in it, microwave, refrig. coffee pot, TV, 2 queen beds, clean bathroom, even a hairdryer. The inside is what you'd expect in a l... Read more

I am use to staying in older lower star hotels so the reviews I read didn't steer me away but I wish I had of. Our room wasn't very clean. You could see the dust on the television screen. The air conditioner was so loud we had to change rooms. There were cookies on the floor. The sheets on the bed were ill fitting and barely hit my chest. The blanket was old and disgusting. I looked for bugs before I took a shower and there were none but when I got out there were two roaches in the tub water. I ... Read more

My friend had booked this because everywhere else was full. Don't let the pictures fool you, there are only 2 "cabins", the rest of the rooms are motel type rooms. The pool looked like it hadn't been usable in over 20 years. We decided we would rather sleep in the car, so we went to the front desk and got our money back (for a $15 cancellation fee - which we thought wasn't bad). Thankfully we found a MUCH better room.

Rented this one without reading the reviews for the balcony overlooking the stream. The stream was nice but the room was well past run down and had a bad smell, not to mention the dog next door to us that barked all day while it's family was out. Will skip this one next time & find another

My husband booked a weekend getaway and picked here because of the balcony over the river. The room was terrible. The carpet was all torn up and stained, The bathroom smelled of urine. The AC was not adjustable so it stayed very cold in the room and rattled all night. There was obvious leaks in the ceiling where it was peeling. Just a terrible place. The balcony was over run with spider webs. The bed was very uncomfortable. You can feel the springs. Do not let their pictures on their website ... Read more

While this accommodation may be considered, perhaps, not first class, it's just a Mom-and-Pop (or Mom and Sons, in this case) kind of place, the price is right and you can't find friendlier people or a better spot on the river. Rooms are clean but rustic, and there's no breakfast, but places are nearby where you can get a great start to your day, and the convenience of being right in town saves even more on parking.......

Drove by this afternoon and they are bulldozing the Terrace Inn on the Water. This old motel is on one of the loudest, most beautiful creeks in Gatlinburg. Sadly it has gone downhill in recent years. If you wanted ice, the owner would give you a small bag out of his own frig. Have not heard of any future plans. If you were staying here because they allowed dogs, try Laquinta in Pigeon Forge. The one near Harpoon Harry's is best.
