The hotel itself was ok. It had the basics. My wife did not like the lack of counter space and mirrors. Everything was dated. The location was great. The staff was fine. The bear did not try to eat us as a snack. We could walk everywhere in Gatlinburg. My big complaint was that we booked through Westgate and had to do a "90 minute" timeshare tour at their resort just outside Gatlinburg. I should have known better. 90 minutes became 4 hours. They would not let us go. Even as cheap as the room was... Read more

We recently stayed two days in this location. Would have left on arrival but we had already paid in advance and it was difficult finding place since there was a car show in the area. The staff couldn't have been any nicer, they are doing the very best they can with what they have to work with. The interior of the rooms are so outdated, warn and dirty carpets, old mattresses, warn linens and old warn bedspreads. our tub was pealing and the bottom was permanently stained which gave me a horrible... We stayed here for just one night, however, I would love to come back and stay a whole week. It is right in the midst of things. And the rooms are so BIG. You can sit on your balcony and look down at the creek running through. It is the MOST PEACEFUL PLACE I have been to in a long time.

The hotel/motel was close to Ripley's Aquarian, which was a very convenient location. The furniture was outdated and the room was smelly. It was also hard to find working outlets; I went with my family and we had to take turns charging our phones. There was really not much interaction with the staff, but they seemed nice.

This hotel is has a great location and has a great friendly staff. Everything was clean and worked. The air conditioner worked great. I love my room cold and it stayed cold?????. We stayed in building 5 Hillcrest, and yes the hill you have to walk up is brutal but it was ok for us. Would stay here again.

Stinky, old, dirty hotel. With holes in a mattress and dirty sheets. Blinds were broken and anyone can see inside the room. Carpet was not changed or cleaned probably since they were open. Disgusting.

This hotel is awesome !!! We bring our dogs everywhere we go and is hard to find a pet friendly hotel close to the strip, and we only had to pay one fee instead of $20 per pet per night like other hotels. That gets pretty pricey. It's not updated but who cares , we just sleep there it's not like we stay in all day and watch tv! It's clean, the beds are comfortable, walk to everything and I can have my babies on vacation with us... We will stay here every time we go to Gatlinburg

Most sites are rather confusing about this facility. There are several buildings here, and we were placed in the Mountain View. For starters, the room was very outdated. Clean, but dated. Basic style room, firm bed, tube TV, mini fridge, etc. The view from the balcony was excellent. Parking wasn't too bad, but the hill up was very steep, and there are no stairs when you're walking to town. It's up and down the hill you go. I also did not find an ice machine near our room. The location was grea... Read more

River Terrace used to be our go-to hotel in Gatlinburg. It has steadily gone down hill over the past few years. Heartbreaking. Although, when you pull in the office and entry look great, the rooms are run down, the beds are awful, the furniture worn... we have decided we won't go back until some serious updating and renovations are done. We will watch for that to happen on the website. Having said all of that, the front office staff is always great. I feel bad for them as I've heard the... Read more

We stayed 2 nights for a great rate. We got a 1 bedroom with a queen bed and a huge jetted tub. As well as a very nice bathroom. We are right on the Gatlinburg strip it's avery convenient location. Room service has been great. We have a great view of Gatlinburg. We like how they have a bar/restaurant at the hotel. Will definitely revisit again soon.

Place was decent. Good location. They gave us our keys on arrival and when got to door they didn't work, had to go back to office. This happened 3 times while we were there and no one apologized for the inconvenience. The people at the front desk were NOT courteous at all.

We did enjoy our stay there. It was simple but very clean and a really good view over the mountains and the river. It was close to all the attractions. A little expensive, thought that it could have been a little more updated on the rooms. But altogether good!

We arrived on Sunday 9 October 2016. We had a copy of our confirmed reservation in hand that we had booked in June. Talked to a young man who informed us that we did not have a reservation and there was nothing he could do.I asked to speak to a Mgr. He said there was no manager on duty, Mgr.leaves for lunch and doesn't come back. He called someone and that person told him there was nothing they could do.We asked 3 times if they had a room we would pay or look for another hotel. We were ignored, ... Read more

Okay we stayed here before and enjoyed. So we decided to spend our 24 wedding anniversary here because of the great time we had here before plus they have a romantic fireplace. Boy was we wrong. The fireplace didn't work. Called down and asked why they said it was to early and you don't need it now. Their web site and reader board says they have fireplace. So you would think they would be working. It got down to the low 40s while there. The room wasn't very clean plus the staff were very rude. W... Read more

We stayed on the 7th for two nights and we were worried because we had to book through a third party and the reviews said if you book through a third party they give you the worst rooms with mountain views only. But our room was in the Atrium building and it faced toward parkway and it was super clean and the bathroom tub and shower stall was new.Donna at the front desk was so helpful and kind as all that was there.this is my 2nd stay there and i will be back again.

Beautiful national park surrounding a children's-Vegas style atmosphere! Far too kitschy for my taste. Staff friendly but no AC or fan capability , even worse; the pillow case smelled of cigarettes and foul men's cologne. I was thankful to gave a small reduction in room rate, but not enough to make up for an unpleasant experience in an otherwise gorgeous national park setting.

Well...where to begin. First off, for one night it worked because the location was great, the room was spacious and very affordable. Now for our experience. I am embarrassed that my wife and child stayed in such an outdated place. The furniture was thrift at best. The television was a box tv. The couch was very poor. The beds were blah. This motel was overbooked when we arrived, so the friendly staff compensated us for our "troubles" by letting us stay in the honeymoon suite at no extra charge. The suite itself was well furnished in a mountain theme and had a massive bed. The bathroom and jacuzzi were excellent. There's no free breakfast here but a restaurant on site. Downtown Gatlinburg is an easy walk away and you can avoid parking fees by staying here.

Where do I start? We had an amazing time here. We wanted to mix things up and stayed in two different rooms during our trip. The first was a first floor room with, what I consider a hot tub by the bed. The second night we stayed up high, overlooking the beautiful town and gazing out on breathtaking mtn. views. We are used to Marriott and Holiday Inns. This place had an unforgettable view, great access to the main attractions of the area, and the bed was comfortable. It was overall a decent place. Not flash or upscale at all. The elevator was broken for several days which made the in-laws on the 6th floor miserable. The hotel apparently compensated them for that. No complaints from us. If you're wanting a courtyard by Marriott, then you will be disappointed, but if you want a nostalgic, older hotel with huge rooms and an excellent location, this is the place for you! We stayed in the building called "Duckwatch" and it sets right on the creek, with great views of the fish and ducks in the water below. Yes, they could use some updates like a newer TV, but this is part of the character of the place in my opinion. We will be back!

What this hotel has going for it is....yep, location, which is excellent. A 60 second walk and you are in the middle of everything. However, our room was actually....dilapidated! We couldn't use the dresser because the drawers were falling out. Everything was ancient. The exterior amenities were very nice and the price was low. but that was no excuse for a nearly non functional room. If they renovate their rooms then this is a 5 star hotel, for reasonable price and.....location.

Would have loved to sit out longer, but plastic chairs are uncomfortable. The bathroom is nice. It's convenient to strip without the noise. Very nice customer service at front desk.
