I stayed for two nights on a hiking trip. This was a repeat visit. The hotel is one of the least expensive in Gatlinburg, so my expectations were low. The hotel is very basic, the breakfast does not have very much and there is virtually no room to sit down to eat. No pool, or work out room. All I wanted was a clean room and WiFi, so my expectations were met. However the hotel is showing its age, and looks to need a renovation. My next visit, I would consider spending more to have more am... Read more

The location of hotel is excellent for walking downtown Gatlinburg! The price was fantastic. The only problem was the mattress was horrible in room 112. We sunk to a deep hole in the middle. And the air conditioner made so many different loud noises.

When we go to Gatlinburg we always stay here. We love that it is right by the Space Needle and in the middle of everything. My only complaint would be it needs updated, but it is always clean. Also the halls are very hot and that's rough when you are coming in from the heat. I am also very hot natured so that may have something to do with it. Anyways this is our 10th year staying here.

Only quality of this place is location--across street from Convention Center! Room not clean; TV did not work consistently; electrical plugs/outlets broken. The website pictures do not realistically describe the facility. Surprised that it is aligned with Wyndham.

It was the perfect location for our visit. Centrally located with free parking. However I was disappointed in the cleanliness of this location. The carpets in the hallways needed cleaning. The carpet and upholstery in my room needed same treatment. The bed was very comfortable. Overall hotel needs a facelift.

This motel is no Hyatt or Holiday Inn. It is more like a mom & pops style motel. The rooms are outdated but clean. you get a microwave and mini refrigerator, a tub, and t.v that often loses signal. Walking distance to Bubba Gump's Shrimp restaurant, the sky lift, space needle, Ober Gatlinburg cable cars, Moonshine tasting and a strip full of shops, restaurants, other attractions etc... The rooms are small and they aren't fancy, but they are clean. We don't need much space because we are not spending that much time in our room. Each floor hallway was very hot & smelled like smoke. The elevator smelled like sewage all the time. There was no microwave, to flush toilet paper we had to hold the handle down to flush completely. Rooms were a bit on the small size, no blankets or comforter on the bed. Ceiling in the bathroom look like it had some water damage & they tried to cover up & the towels & washcloths were very thin. The room was a decent size for 2 people. But you could tell it was a "smoking" hotel. The worst part was the plug outlets were scary...one outlet didn't have a cover on it and our phone charges kept falling out. Wasn't a "tight" fit. Nearly a fire hazard! It was nice of them to let us check in early for an extra $40. It's a decent hotel just for a place to sleep, nothing overly fancy. Nice location, in walking distance of everything. Not sure I would stay here again though.

The elevator smelled like something had died in it. It was horrid, and obviously the owners noticed they put a air freshener up in it. The room was clean however and the staff was pleasant. This hotel allows smoking, though they have non-smoking rooms the smell of smoke is everywhere. Its is relatively centrally located and a quick jot to the Starbucks. I probably will not stay here again, though.

I read many of the reviews before going there, and it wasn't as bad as I expected. We had a suite and it was comfortable and clean, with good proximity to Gatlinburg attractions. Unfortunately that's about as good as it gets. The rooms were very small, with little soundproofing. The breakfast was regrettable. We didn't come with high expectations, and they were largely met.

This hotel did not measure up to the Microtel reputation. The rooms we had (two) were both fair at best. No hotel rooms have in room safes, and there is no house safe. When traveling some places the outdoor beauty is what your there for. You don't need the marble vanity and super luxe-bed all you need clean, affordable, and convenient. And that's what you get at the Microtel...a chain from Europe. Check in no problem...room just as ordered CLEAN and basic. Folks you come to Gatlinburg for the outdoors not a lushroom. Location was central to downtown gatlinburg within walking distance to everything. The facility was under construction in areas and there were construction materials thrown in the parking area. The breakfast cereal was stale. For the price it was decent.

rooms were tiny and out dated, but they were clean. Bed was comfortable. Good front desk service. Fast check in. However, breakfast was poor. The room they had breakfast in only had three small tables for guest to sit. this hotel has over 100 rooms why only three tables. breakfast was toast mini muffins and mini doughnuts, bagels and cereal. juice and coffee that you had to get in the lobby. Rooms do not have coffee pots or micro waves.

That's all I can say about this hotel. The place is starting to show its age. Check in was quick and painless. The room was ready before the designated check in time, so that was a plus. With a little bit of work, this hotel could get a better rating, but if they don't do something, it's going to keep going the wrong way. Room was clean, but not too much attention to detail is given. Dust on the TV, mini fridge was not plugged in, along with other small things. If you are just looking for ... Read more

Terrible room, bugs in the bed, only 1 outlet in the entire room, no place to put luggage. We originally planned the trip for four of us. Luckily two of them bowed out at the last minute. Breakfast was a joke. The only redeeming value is that the hotel is in an excellent location.

We recently stayed here on an anniversary and were looking to go on the cheap. Well we did as far as the room was concerned. It was extremely inexpensive and the room was so small we had to go single file to move around. We got what we paid for which was a tiny room at a very cheap price. The continental breakfast was terrible so I would recommend going to one of the several breakfast restaurants in the area. The motel is very conveniently located about a block from the main drag. So if you are ... Read more

Upon arrival, checked in around 6 pm went to the room found carpet nasty, trash on the floor, soap on the bathroom used dried to soap dish, missing a pillowcase on one pillow. We went to get pillow case and blanket. Blanket had holes in it really not suitable to rent. Overall hotel not clean. Ice machine trays under the bottom was filthy. In the breakfast room cereal left overnight in containers and added to in the mornings. Wife noticed milk containers nasty around the top where milk is added. T... Read more

Disgusted with the desk person named DEE DEE upon check in. Granddaughter 8 yrs. needed a restroom after 13 hours of travel. She said there was none. Our phone in our room was not working and she would not allow us to use desk phone for emergency, said it would interfere with her job. We are Canadians and our cell's do not work in the U.S. so we had no way to contact home from the hotel. We have stayed here for many many years and probably will NOT GO BACK. Also I held the room on my visa a... Read more

Location is great. The entire hotel needs updated but the hotel served its purpose, a place to lay our heads down at night. If they would put some money back into the hotel it would be a perfect spot to stay.

I get it, it's small hints micro but would it kill them to dust lights and fixtures, update rooms, have a hot meal for breakfast... The room looks like a hospital stay. Not even worth your time. The door to the bathroom was busted and wouldn't close all the way.

The room was small but adequate for one person. There were small drawers and a small closet for a long stay. The hallways were smokey smelling and carpets were dirty. The worst was the small parking spaces and drive isles.

I was happy at first to see the location of this hotel, then we walked in. The smell in the place is terrible. They have air fresheners everywhere but they are no help to this place. The carpet is deeply stained and need of replacement. The elevator smelled like dog poop for the 3 days we were there and the bed was like a brick. Bottom line , I don't care how great the location, I will never stay there again.

The location of this hotel is it's best asset. Only a short walk to downtown. Housekeeping did a good job. The room was clean and comfortable but somewhat dated. Breakfast was poor. Ice machine was extremely loud and located out in the hall instead of in a room or alcove. Clanking ice buckets woke me up every morning.

Clean room. Close to Main Street. Breakfast is okay. No in-room coffee maker and no microwave. Inconvenient to go down from 2nd floor for a cup of coffee early in the morning. We are a bit disappointed , considering it carries the name of Wyndham.

Booked this room through Booking.com and thought we were booked into a room with a bed & a sleeper sofa....supposed to be separate rooms. Was one tiny room with a padded bench on top A/C unit in the window. What a disappointment! The room was clean but very small! the rate was around $80/night for the room we booked, but we could have gotten this tiny room for half that. Might be Booking.com at fault here, but the front desk clerk didn't change anything after I complained! At booking we were tol... Read more

Upon entering our room, an overpowering scent of citrus filled our nostrils. Luckily the window opened a few inches so we could air it out. The carpet was heavily stained. I would recommend replacing it. I reserved one queen bed for my wife and me. We got a full size bed instead. We will not stay here again.

Not only did we receive a full side bed for a queen bed listing and price, when we called the desk we were assured it was a queen. We measured the bed -it was a double. Everything about this room was small-great photographer using the mirrored back board to double the size of the room. No coffee maker in the room-I thought these were standard. Similar to security-back door was left open, and elevator had full access into building to anyone off of the street. There was dust hanging from the scree... Read more

Last minute trip to Gatlinburg so there were not a lot of hotel choices (Fri-Sun). Picked this hotel due to its location. The location is great (2 blocks from East Parkway) so you are within walking distance of everything downtown. The hotel itself is run down and need of an update but it was not terrible for the money. We had a suite but that was really two rooms connected. It had two baths and in one room there was a couch and in the other there was a small queen bed (closer to a double than a... Read more

It was a small room but for the amount of time we stayed in the motel it was just what we needed to rest. We would like to stay again in May of 2017! The rooms were clean! We got new towels daily. The only thing I did not like were the lights in the room. I wish they had lamps instead of overhead lights. I have a difficult time with florescent lights. Other than that it was a GREAT stay!!!
