It's a good location, convenient, clean, away from the noise and congestion of the Parkway. There have been improvements made, and it is a nicer place to stay. The office personnel were very helpful, and the ice machine was well placed -- moved from previous years.

I can't say enough about the employees here at this EconoLodge on the River.. They are so friendly and make you feel like family. We spent our honeymoon there Memorial Day weekend 2016 and no complaints at all. It is affordable, clean, and just a nice walk to the main streets downtown. We already made our reservations for 2017.

Very convenient location - a short walk to the main street where you can find lots of restaurants, shops, etc. The room was clean, adequate in size for 2 people with 2 double beds that were comfortable. My wife and I, both mid 50's, met our grad student daughter and boyfriend in Gatlinburg for the July 4 weekend. We booked this hotel on less than a weeks notice, so shopped mostly for availability first and then location. We found this hotel on TripAdvisor, which we use all the time for travel. We trusted reviews and found the sum total of reviews to be mostly accurate (always some highs and lows). The location, for us, was perfect. Many times we find little things that make a place special. Yes you can get a room overlooking the river, and yes you are just a short walk from the action. It rained several days that week, but the room by the river was wonderful and relaxing. You can walk down River Road to the trail entering the park and about 2 miles along the river to the Visitor Center. It was beautiful! We were there over July 4 and it was nice to be at a quieter part of town. We walked to everything we needed. Will definitely plan to go back. We wanted to stay somewhere close to the main strip but not directly on the parkway. This was an easy two block walk to main street, one block from the entrance of Ober Gatlinburg. The area had multiple dining options within easy walking distance as well. Although we did not have a room that overlooked the river/creek we took advantage of the small patio area and chairs one afternoon to enjoy a quiet break from the hustle and bustle of shopping. It was so nice and peaceful. The room was nice as ... Read more

My husband & I enjoyed our two night stay here. The facility is a little old, but the staff was friendly & courteous, the room was clean, it's a great location, just behind our favorite restaurant, Bennett's BBQ, & close to the main strip where the "action" is. The mattress was a little too firm for our liking, but we've slept on worse & we had a little problem with the toilet not flushing. I informed the staff of the problem with the toilet just before we walked up town for a while, & when we... Read more

We stayed here Halloween weekend. The hotel is nice and was clean and comfortable. It's in a great spot as well. I'd recommend. Don't expect 4 star luxury, but I had no complaints. Room was nice and hotel staff was accomodating.

We had the pleasure of staying here for two nights, October 17th and 18th. We always stay in Pigeon Forge for our entire week but this time we split it between the two towns. Although, it is a little older, don't let that fool you. We booked a king river room and we were pleasantly pleased. It was spacious, updated and clean...the bathroom was the cleanest we have ever had in a hotel! We loved the location and that we could walk to our favorite places. Thank you for the hospitality and friendlin... Read more

I'm not sure if I would stay here again. The front desk seemed like they just didn't want to be there not sure if I caught them on bad days or what. The room was clean enough but the bathroom, that was another story hairs that clearly weren't mine on tub walls & floors took forever to get hot water if you were able to get hot water two times tried to call front desk no answer. Two if the towels I didn't use because hair on them that wasn't mine. We stayed because it was one of the hotels close ... Read more

This hotel is one that we always try to stay at when we are in Gatlinburg. We like the friendly staff and it is always clean. It is a little out of the way but we like that because it is a bit quieter than some of the other hotels.

We where on our honeymoon with no agenda, seeing how we are always so busy and always on a timeframe. The ladies at the desk where very friendly and helpful to make our stay just what we wanted! We will definitely return with our family.

It's an older hotel that appears to have been upgraded not long ago. Very clean room at a reasonable rate. The only issue was the hot water. You had to let the water run 10-15 minutes before it got hot. Other than that, we were pleased with our stay!

We got to the motel late due to a busy but fun day. Check in was fairly smooth and the lady at the desk was nice. Our room was close and had easy access. Room was clean but the beds were not the most comfortable. We could hear kids running outside our door and above us very early in the morning and car alarms chirping like they were in the room. I much prefer hotels which is what I thought I was getting.

This was our first time to stay in this particular hotel. I wanted a room on the river with a balcony. I put in the preferences request and even called the hotel myself several weeks prior. When we arrived, we were told that a room on the river was not available. I want to know how to guarantee a room with the balcony on the river. Location was great. No hot foods for breakfast other than waffle maker.
