Recently stayed one night at the Hampton Inn Columbia while in the area on business. The Hampton is under construction, however I was not inconvenienced whatsoever. Construction stopped by5:30 pm. Check in was easy and staff was pleasant. This is my 3rd stay here and I will return the next time in area.

It's very much under construction/renovation. The hallway had clear plastic wrap hanging down from the ceiling and looked like they may be filming an episode of Dexter toward the other end of the hall. The room next to ours (and a few others) had its door propped open the whole time we were there and they had just covered the bed with plastic as they renovated the room around the bed. It's fine for overnight in an interstate hotel. Leave the lights off and maybe you won't notice the many flaws. ... Read more

I always like to avoid the big cities when I get up in the morning and head back on my way. Columbia, Tennessee is 45 minutes south of Nashville and three hours north of Birmingham. It's ideally located for my purposes. My title says, "Inconveniently Convenient". If my intention was to tour Nashville, or if I had meetings there, etc., this would not be a convenient place to stay for that purpose.

We typically stay at Hampton Inns. This hotel was just south of Nashville. Staying here allowed us to get through Nashville and get a fresh start the next morning on our way to Florida. Very good location.

Less than friendly check in. No mention of my HH status. No introduction to breakfast or wifi access. Hotel is under construction/remodeling. Nothing mentioned during reservation or check in. Room condition was adequate, but noise carried throughout the facility from the remodeling. Crying baby in next room half the night.

This hotel is a gem! Staff is friendly and helpful. Rooms are spaceous, quiet and clean. Beds are comfortable with fabulous bedding and a nice easy chair and ottoman for anyone with back issues. Great shower and large bathroom. Coffee 24 hours per day in lobby - big perk! Breakfast is great - hot entrees plus make-your-own waffles and cereals and oatmeal and yogurt and fruit...just a really NICE included breakfast. Close to expressway. Staff courtesy was biggest selling point. Definitely wil... Read more

Staff not helpful, never told anyone that the hotel was under remodel and THEY WERE DOING IT FROM 7 AM TO 7 PM EVEN ON THANKSGIVING AND SATURDAY . We spent 4 miserable nights there. The hammering started about 8 and didn't end until after 7 pm. You would think that the management would have a little consideration for its guests. Nope.

Was charged $189 for one night. I can stay on the beach in Florida for this price. The hotel itself is fine. Feel like I was ripped off big time. Usually pay around $100 a night for comparable hotels. Actually in a Hampton inn in Florida right now for $108. They need to seriously look at their prices.

We stopped for one night on our way back home and we were very happy with our stay. We got the king bed with in room and it was really nice. Breakfast was good and the price was reasonable. I would stay again.
