when we first arrived the girl at the front desk was very pleasant. When we Entered our room it smelled like a card game just broke up. Bathroom had a new tub but exhaust fan hadn't been cleaned in months. The shower head was a regular pipe with a elbow and shower head screwed on that. The door was plastered at the bottom from repair. I took the air conditioner filter out and washed it down in the shower to get rid of the smell in the room. It was filthy. Smoke detector showed signs of smoking i... Read more

I have found to respect the super 8 chain. We stayed here one night. There was 3 of us. Our room was 2 queen beds. The room cost was less than $60. free breakfast was included. The staff was very friendly. The only negative I would say is the pool was dirty, but it is early in the season here, so maybe the pool isn't opened yet.

Room was very small and noticed trash behind some of the furniture. 2 pillows on each queen size bed. Location was great but I would rather pay the same or a little more for something more inviting.

Supposedly the worlds steepest railway and it is pretty steep in part. As it is so steep it is hard to see where you are or going. Good views from the top and some small shops, antiques and eating places. Entry to the park is unmanned and gates open with credit card only. Unfortunately unmanned machines refused to accept cards so just pushed past the gate anyway. Glad did not have to pay as not worth the money.

Hotel was old and outdated. Breakfast was almost nonexistent. I booked this hotel because there was a pool at no point was there any signs that said it wasn't open.

The room was outdated and run down. The carpet felt sticky, and dirty under bare feet. There were cigarette burns in the bedspread (this was a non-smoking room). The breakfast bar was very poor. Had no eggs (not even hard boiled) or meat of any kind, only waffles and cereal and yogurt. I would never stay there again. For the price I expected more than this.

Lookout Mountain doesn't pretend to be a tourist hot spot and it isn't The hotels don't pretend to be 5 star and they aren't And if you only pay $60 for 2 queen beds, a fridge and a microwave you shouldn't expect the Ritz Carlton and it doesn't pretend to be. It's a perfectly suitable stop on your way to somewhere else. It has cold storage, a microwave, a pool and free breakfast. It does smell if smoke a bit in the corridors but not in the rooms Light sleepers might want to be aware of th... Read more

Probably the worst Super 8 that I have ever stayed in - the room had a strong musty-moldy smell, seemed to be coming from the air conditioning unit, made it difficult to sleep comfortably and since there were no screens on the windows I could not even open one up for fresh air.- I am officially finished with all Super 8 hotels for future trips unless I have absolutely no other choice.

We stopped here on our way down south and it was a very nice place to stay. They staff were friendly, the rooms nice and clean, everything worked and the beds were comfy. The only thing that wasn't so nice was the breakfast, no pastries, no yogurt, no cereal, etc. Your choices were a waffle or a cinnamon roll. It looked like there was something else there at some point as there were empty dishes of ice sitting around and empty bins. Oh well, I guess you can't have it all.

We were pleased we were able to change our reservation date from Saturday to Sunday night as we decided to make an additional stop on the way home. Now I understand why. We arrived and were placed on the 2nd floor, no elevator. Got our keys, headed to our room and tried to open the door but it was locked. Someone else was already there! Went back to the desk and the staff was very nice, very apologetic, and gave us a different room. Back up the stairs with luggage and kids and pulled the s... Read more

We stayed here to break up our travel time to Florda. Everything in the hotel, including the lobby and our room, had a terrible musty/moldy smell. The bedding and carpet in our room was moist to the touch, from the humidity in the room. The breakfast consisted of waffles and a loaf of bread and the milk was rotten! This place is lucky it's located near Lookout Mountain or it would never get business. We will Not be staying here again!

The place was really dirty and reeked of cigarettes even though the floor we were on was non-smoking. I hoped that the room would be better, but I was wrong! The room smelled awful and there was minimal lighting. I'm assuming that was to keep us from REALLY seeing the room. The bedding had stains all over them and spiderwebs in the window. The bathroom toilet leaked and smelled of mildew. We had reserved the room for 4 nights and barely stayed 1. The complimentary breakfast wasn't even worth eat... Read more

We are here now. We stopped here on the way to Gatlinburg to rest and go to Ruby Falls the next day. We got a double room since we had our son with us. The room is very tiny, the TV looks ancient, the carpet is moist, and the room just looks very outdated. There are no elevators and it's not very easy dragging luggage up the stairs just months after having back surgery. At least the room appears clean so far.

this hotel is good. it is pretty clean. beds are comfortable. the only thing they need to improve on is that they need to be a little better on the nitty gritty cleaning. like the bathroom doors and the bathroom corners. they were dirty. the bathroom sink faucet was VERY slow to drain. we called, but it wasn't fixed when we left. also they need to vacuum the stairs every day, as there was debris on them. also the air conditioning filter needed changed, you could see it was clogged up. ... This is no Ritz Carlton; it's a Super 8. My fiancé and I came into town to do some off roading and other outdoor stuff. It is definitely an older builder, a little smelly, a little dirty, and in need of renovation. There is no closet in the room, so therefore no place to hang clothes. The breakfast consists of yogurt, Raisin Bran, Frosted Flakes, microwave cinnamon buns, bread, butter, jelly, and waffles. Also coffee, OJ, and apple juice. We didn't attempt the pool as it was quite small and q... Read more

As I had a bum knee, I asked for a room on the ground floor instead of on the 3rd floor that was assigned to us. The receptionist made the change and even checked out the room to make sure it was clean and ready. I suspect it was a smoking room, but was still happy to not have to climb stairs. I had just drove from Atlanta Georgia and my knee was throbbing already. As it was late when we arrived, my husband wanted to watch TV, but something was wrong with it and we could only get one channel... Read more

Pet owners are put on the first floor for the convenience of the pet{not}. Partly below ground, damp, smelly, mismatched furniture, threadbare carpets, cracked sinks and SMALL rooms. Hall carpet dirty. Positives were friendly staff and clean linens. Definitely not a positive part of the chain. Guess you do get what you pay for.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Building is old and outdated. Our room was small but clean. Although the hallways had a musty smell, my room did not. I chose this place because of the safe location, price and it had a fridge and microwave in my room (huge plus with children). The pricier hotel nearby didn't offer those.

The overall motel needs a remodel from top to bottom. Floors, décor, t.v.'s, The rooms were very shabby. Cracked pictures, broken lighting. The rooms were not cleaned as well as they should, dirty windows, mold on shower curtain. The only saving grace was their curtesy and the fact that we had traveled for so long with our two children, i.e. we were drop dead tired..

Our room was great, cool, clean and comfortable! The only thing we can complain about was that the hall way carpet really needed to be vacuumed and the chair and ottoman in the room was dingy but the bathroom was clean and everything else was fine! Would stay her again! :-)

We just stopped overnight on our way down to Florida but I wouldn't stay here again. The hallways smelled. Our room was clean but smelled musty. First, reserved a non-smoking room. Stinks of cigarette smoke upon opening door. Told this is non-smoking room. Chair in room looks like something I threw out--stained and appears dirty. Few plugs for charging phones and iPads. Bathroom has seen better days with shower appearing dirty and not inviting. I has all the amenities wanted in a room ... flat screen TV, fridge, microwave, coffee pot and hair dryer. The room was clean and well maintained. The young lady at the front desk was pleasant and helpful. Close to a Cracker Barrel for early or late dining
