You can find a bed and food at most any hotel/motel but to find the most friendly staff and a great location to all of Chattanooga the Holiday Inn Express on W, Martin Luther King Blvd. is the answer.

My husband and I showed up needing a four-night stay, and we got a nice suite for a good deal. Everyone we encountered at the front desk was friendly, breakfast was very good, the room was very clean, and the bed was super comfortable. We didn't have any issues with noisy neighbors or billing, and the location is perfect for downtown Chattanooga; it's near the freeway without being loud or feeling unsafe. Self-parking is a daily fee of about $3, but that is to be expected for a downtown hotel.

The first 2 rooms we were assigned: the refrigerator did not work. The third room: the deadbolt did not work; the desk lamp did not work. WiFi access was spotty. The Holiday Inn was conveniently located. The price was acceptable.

This Holiday Inn Express is very similar to many others. That is the benefit of staying at one; for the most part they are all the same. The staff however can be different. The staff here were excellent. Very nice and courteous. The breakfast/relax area is better than most. The only downside to this location is it is on the other side of Highway 27. Right now there is a lot of construction going on at the interchange and getting to downtown on foot is a bit tricky. However, there is plenty of pa... Read more

This hotel was perfect for me. I didn't have to drive into the city and enjoyed my stay. Because I was there on business, after a long day instead or leaving for dinner, it was nice to be able to grab a convenience meal to heat up in the microwave. I enjoyed the owl I could hear each morning outside the window. The only downside was paying to park in their parking lot on top of the cost of the room.

The positive was the very helpful and polite staff. The pool was small but nice. Our room was dirty. There was hair on the bathroom floor. A lot of hair!! The staff swept it up for us. There was a large stain on the carpet that was unavoidable to walk on and it looked dirty all over. There was no smoke detector on the wall...just wires. The bed was hard and we had difficulty sleeping on it.

From the time we walked into the hotel, we were treated as family. Everyone from the housekeeping staff to the breakfast staff to the hotel manager spoke to us on a daily basis. We couldn't have asked for a nicer room for our stay. We will definitely stay here again the next time we are in Chattanooga!

This Holiday Inn Express is close to downtown Chattanooga ~ nice location for those who want to walk around downtown area. The breakfast is free, but nothing to write home about, but saved us from spending more elsewhere. Our room was spacious and comfortable. The beds are nice, had no problem nodding off each night. I enjoyed their free wifi. There was a microwave, fridge and Keurig in the room we stayed in. There is plenty of parking at this location. I heard no outside noise while resting... Read more

My family stayed at this hotel for one night on the way to Gatlinburg. The staff was friendly and the hotel was clean. The beds in our room were super comfy. We had a room facing back and it was very quite. We also enjoyed the free breakfast. I would defiantly recommend this hotel and would stay again.

Chattanooga is our go to place for a nice weekend getaway. The Holiday Inn on MLK is very convenient to everything we want to see & do when we visit the area. We've been staying at this location for approximately 8 years. The staff is always very courteous & housekeeping does an excellent job of taking care of the rooms & replenishing items when we request them.

This Holiday Inn exceeded our expectations in every category. From the moment we walked in we were greeted with a friendly, professional staff. My teenage daughter commented as we walked from the desk, "She is the friendliest check in clerk I've ever met." (I wish I knew her name but didn't get it.) She was the first of several friendly, professional employees we met during our 3 day stay. The maids, the other front desk staff and the hostess at the breakfast bar were all willing to go above an... Read more

We stopped in Chattanooga to visit the Tennessee Aquarium and wanted a hotel that was close by. This one was less than a mile away. It was clean, had a friendly, helpful staff and was easy to get to from the freeway. We stayed two nights. The beds were comfortable. We had plenty of towels and the water pressure was good in the showers. The bathtub though was a little slippery when getting in. The breakfast was one of the best we've had at hotels. This is a very nice Holiday Inn with free wi-fi and breakfast. The room is comfortable and nicely appointed. Bed is comfortable although I had a difficult time adjusting to the pillow even though you can choose from a soft and a firm. The AC worked nicely. The room has a fridge, microwave and even a Keurig coffee maker. Ample sized room was very comfortable. The breakfast bar only had sausage and did not have a waffle maker. We stayed at the new full service Holiday Inn downtown for a few nights (it was wonderful), but we thought it would be nice to save the daily $14.00 parking fee. We had spotted this Holiday Inn Express a few blocks away - but still close to downtown. The staff at this hotel went out of their way to make sure all was well. The staff was friendly and acknowledged us when we came thru the door. Room was clean and the breakfast was excellent. There were four of us and the room had only 3 towels and wash cloths. We find this typical for some reason. So if there four of you staying the room be sure to ask for additional towels and was cloths.

We spent two nights here the week before Labor Day. Based on website and comments we felt it would be a great location to use as base for time in Chattanooga. Well....the hotel was clean and the beds were comfortable and the price was ok, however...be warned. You cannot walk to anything and the free electric shuttle does not stop at this hotel. We visited for one night with two small children to visit Chattanooga. The hotel was great--very friendly staff, clean rooms, great indoor pool, nice breakfast. The location is easy in and out, but you will need a car to go places which wasn't an issue for us. The guest laundry was a very nice addition in case we needed it. We couldn't have asked for anything more, and we'd definitely stay here again. Thanks for a great stay!

Nice facility and cordial staff. A short walk is required to reach downtown but unlike the closer-in hotels I looked at, this one has self-parking (vs. pricey mandatory valet) and a free breakfast. The MAIN THING about this site - If you stay, make sure you get an EVEN-NUMBERED ROOM so that you are facing the parking lot. I liked the location of this Holiday Inn in that it was on the edge of downtown and also right by highway access. This was one of the older Holiday Inns I have stayed in but was an OK value for the price. My big issue with this location is that one side of the hotel is 15 feet of of a major 5-lane road connecting the university and downtown. I put all of the curtains ... Read more

We stayed in September for the Ironman competition. The hotel staff couldn't have been more accommodating and attentive. Great breakfast bar (watch out for the hot cinnamon rolls!). We were in town on business and came in exhausted. We were a little uncertain about the property after reading a few reviews saying that it was a sketchy part of town and that they felt uncomfortable walking around after dark. The only negatives are had burned out light in bathroom which made it difficult to see. Also the room cleaning staff start pounding on the doors at 8:00am to clean it.
