The accommodations were nice & clean, the staff was very friendly, the breakfast was fresh and the area was clean. The location was great, we were downtown in 10 min, without getting in interstate, we were at the Chicamgua Dam in 9 min, and across the interstate from the mall and plenty of eating places.

Policy of hotels to tie up credit on a card with pending charges even if charges have been switched to a different card are unreasonable, and reduce credit available to a customer on their cards. This was not done years ago. Why did hotels start doing it? If a charge is paid with a different card, pending charges on the original card should be released immediately and not take a week.

Our room was very comfortable. The beds and pillows were the most comfortable I've had in a hotel. The room was nest and clean and everything we needed was provided. The breakfast service was excellent and all the hotel employees were so friendly and helpful. The room rates were excellent.

The hotel was more in line with the quality of budget hotels, only dated. Soiled towel in pull-out sofa bed impacted my stay in a negative way as you can imagine. The tv remote control did not work consistently... we found ourselves having to go to tv to make modifications. These experiences are inconsistent with others which I have had with the Hampton Inn brand in the past.

The hotel is spread out. First, we had a room on the first floor, but with a lot of luggage and elderly mother in wheel chair, we could not use it. The duty manager changed it to one on ground floor but it had only one double bed so we requested a larger one. He then gave us one nearer the reception but it was smelling of cigarette smoke. He said, for that reason, he would reduce the price a bit. (I haven't had time to see from my bills if this was done). Anyway, the manager, and his name was ... Read more

Clean, nice, and excellent breakfast. Other than the lady who shuts down breakfast (it's her job), everyone was very helpful. Buttons on tv didn't work and the remote didn't want to either, but eventually the correct button was pressed hard enough repeatedly and all was good. Would most definitely stay again. We enjoyed our stay at this hotel, not only because it was comfotable, but also because of the location. We were within walking distance of a variety of restaurants, and getting to downtown Chattanooga was pretty quick even though it was a holiday weekend.

During a recent rip through Chattanooga, Tn. I decided to stop and rest for the night. I checked in around 3am, the staff was alert, friendly and attentive. The next morning I attempted to use the internet and couldn't. I went down to enjoy the breakfast and the selection was slim to none. To the staffs defense they were replenishing some portions quickly, however once you get behind the herd gobbles it up pretty fast. We recently stayed here over a weekend for a softball tournament. The staff was very nice. The breakfast facility is good as well. However, the overall state of the building and the rooms is very poor. The external doors are warped. The rooms are just old and run down. While I appreciate the low per night rate, I would pay a little more for a facility that was in better condition. Hopefully a renovation is on the horizon. The staff did address my concerns on the spot by honoring the 100%... Read more

I was surprised at the (materially) lower price of this hotel .vs. others in the area by the same chain. There's a reason -- there are closed (what look to have been hotels) right there, and it's an older property. With that said the accommodations were fine. The front building (where we stayed) looked to have had the rooms updated fairly recently, but only halfway. However, the important stuff was all good -- the room was clean including the bathroom, the tub/shower appeared to have been re... Read more

Don't be put off by the mixed reviews. Yes, this hotel is older and shows some age, but we had an overnight stay that was just fine. The room was small but not cramped. Room had one full size bed. Although this is an older property, it does live up to the Hampton Inn standard. The rooms are accessible from the outside and they're clean with comfy beds. The nice part for me was the breakfast area, which has separate food and eating rooms. This meant that people aren't crawling over each other to get to the food. The breakfast hot meal rotated each day out of the 3 that we were there. The staff is friendly - we were always greeted. The pool area was clean too. When you make a right t... Read more

This is an older property, but it saved me a lot of money! I got a decent room price using a coupon from one of those hotel books. The night we happened to stay had a socializing night and we ended up eating a free dinner out of it. It saved us the hassle into leaving the hotel to get dinner.

This review is difficult because we were with our softball team and each family had a different experience. If I rated it solely on my experience, it would be 4. However, because of the range of experiences I averaged it to 3. First of all, this is a motel not a hotel. All doors are outside and there are multiple buildings. Although out of the hotel's control, non hotel individuals (possibly homeless) are in the parking lot which forces your guard to be up more than it would be at a hotel or lim... Read more

As one who almost always books through HHonors, the price of this location compared to other Hilton hotels in Chattanooga should have been an indicator of what to expect. The staff is quite nice, but the hotel itself is old and tired. I found it really beaten up and noisy. The Hamilton Place neighborhood has dozens of hotels to pick from. If price is your primary consideration, then this one is OK. Otherwise, keep looking.

Ok, seems a lot of review are critical of this place. Granted, it is not as fancy as many other Hamptons. It is an older place, room access from the outside. But the room was clean, it was one of the most quiet places we have stayed, and the price was very reasonable. The breakfast was outstanding and the staff very friendly. We have marked this location in our GPS and will stay again next visit.

I stay frequently at Hampton for both business and pleasure. Have always loved them.. This Hotel DID NOT meet what I would expect from a Hampton. Old, run down, room dirty and smelly... Would not recommend this property...

This hotel staff is very friendly and the hotel itself is well maintained and very clean. The location is very close to shopping and restaurants as well as Interstate 75. The entrance is a little tricky but once you have been there the first time you'll have no trouble. The breakfast was of good quality and a nice variety from cereal to waffles to egg dishes. There's a cooler for water next to the front desk that is available for you all day. They also have the best cookies at the desk, str... Read more

This hotel is snack dab in the middle of about 6 hotel chains at this intersection. The hotel is OLD-in fact we were told this was the second Hampton Inn Hotel ever "born"....the room was an exterior room but I felt fact saw and spoke to security on site. I'd stay here again...Priced right, clean, front desk staff friendly and courteous!

Checking in was fine. Our first room was dingy smelling and had mold and a large bug in the bathtub. Was switched to a different room and was still not impressed but it did the job. The pool was nice but had some debris in it. Slept ok through the night. Checked out very early (5am) and the front desk woman was not friendly at all! I would not be hard pressed to stay at this location again.

We found out the hotel was the 2nd Hampton Inn built in the US. I believe they said in the '80s. Outdoor access rooms, but very quiet location, clean room, and comfortable bed. We were on a 25-day road trip, and always liked checking into the hotels in the mid-afternoon, so we could get 'swim time'. Their pool was great, and for those who wanted it, they had a BBQ set up at the pool, for guests to use. Friendly staff. Great restaurants within walking distance. In the morning, we were surp... Stayed two nights expecting the typical higher level of room that kept me coming back to Hampton. What we got was an older room with a marginal bath area. It has historical significance (according to the hotel literature) as the second property for them. Really it seems to be a poor excuse for trying to save money on needed upgrades. It is a poor example of what we have found to be an above average hotel. Staff were wonderful and breakfast up to Hampton standards. That earned it the second... Read more

Our room was a reasonable size and clean but could be updated. It was convenient to get to from I-75 and surprisingly quiet given its proximity to the interstate. There are a number of restaurants within walking distance to the property. The staff were friendly and the price was reasonable.

We had 5 total rooms. I only saw two. The front desk staff was not entirely on point, but they were very friendly. The rooms were clean, but lacked that extra step I was expecting. My shower had a very large crack in the surround, and red grossness was growing in the holes water sprays from. The other room had a non-functional tv and hair dryer. Breakfast was good, hot, and plentiful. The breakfast staff was extremely friendly and helpful.

This hotel is old, carpet and tile are dirty and rooms need updating and renovating. Don't waste your money! It's not up to Hampton Inn standards. They have a brand new, much nicer hotel very close by that we didn't now about but wish we had stayed there, instead! The new one is behind the mall.

Probably the worst Hampton Inn we have stayed at. The first room was disgusting. The carpet was filthy. Desk chair was broken. Called the front desk and asked for someone to come up a see for themselves. Sarah did and promptly moved us next door. She admitted the room should have been taken off rotation. Can't believe the cleaning crew would not have reported it. The next room was ok. Beds were not very comfortable. Breakfast was just adequate. Very limited.

Good hotel for the price, was surprised by the exterior entry to the rooms as you don't see that very often anymore and I prefer an interior entrance for safety purposes. You could tell that it was an older hotel but for a place to sleep at night it was just fine. Wish that the pool was indoors so my kids could have gone swimming.

I almost always ready reviews before choosing a hotel. I mad reservations to stay here while on the road and did not read reviews. I am glad I did not, because I may have not stayed here. Hotel was clean and well maintained. Exterior entry rooms are unusual for Hampton, but after I read the history of the hotel, it was cool staying there. Outside of the entry door to the building wasthe trashcan that was overflowing, immediately inside the door there were leaves and other debris piled upon the floor. We stay here two or three times a year. As noted by others, it is an older Hampton (the second oldest in the chain, from what I read). Most of the rooms are the outside entry type, but there is one wing in the back that is interior entry. The staff are among the most accommodating at any Hampton I've ever stayed at (roughly 75, I would say). I had two concerns which were promptly addressed. The manager sent me several texts to insure I was satisfied.

I realize this hotel is the oldest Hampton Inn. It has been updated and looks nice from the outside. The inside was clean but needs more updates such as carpet and old tile. The worse thing we experienced was the terrible hide-a-bed mattress. Pretty bad to say the least. Additional issues: TV was hard to get on. Water temp would not stay consistent during a shower. Clock time barely visible, probably because it needs to be replaced. Hampton Inn is my favorite mid-price hotel. It's always clean... Read more

This 29 year old Hotel is poorly equipped, and filthy. How Hilton would want to keep it with their name is shocking. The Tissue dispenser in the washroom was empty, and there was only two feet of toilet paper left on the roll. There was one spare. The room had a stale smell, and the carpets were well worn. The desk was sticky to the touch and a wet tissue became black in a hurry. Similarly the top of the microwave and bureau revealed they had not been cleaned in a long time. The room was warm, a... We stayed overnight while traveling back from a holiday in Florida. My husband booked it and I was not paying enough attention, so he judged it on price alone. You get what you pay for. This is a converted motel and the rooms are motel style and we steer clear of motels whenever possible. The facility does not meet my expectations that I have experienced from other Hampton Inn hotels. The room smells stale, over all condition is dated. CONS: After a long day of traveling we were looking for a restful night at the Hampton Inn. Being a HHonors Member for Hilton you expect a good, clean and updated hotel to stay at. This is not that's a motel. While the front desk, lobby and eating area is nice, clean and updated with a modern touch the rooms are not. I stayed here as a stop on a road trip. The rest of my group stayed at Embassy suites but I didn't want to pay as much. This Hampton was a cheaper option but it was very outdated and not super clean. My TV also didn't work which was annoying to me. I would expect this kind of room for $50/$60 at a bargain brand motel. I wouldn't recommend staying here. It just didn't feel clean yet it cost the normal Hampton rate. Isn't worth it. The staff was friendly however. The breakfast was average.

The airport shuttle is always ready and, if not, the Hotel Staff will attain a taxi to get you to/from the Airport. The on-line Check-in and room selection process is terrific.
