Hampton Inn & Suites Watertown
2720 9th Avenue SE, Watertown, SD US

The natural beauty of nearby Lake Kampeska is pretty inspiring. In fact, the landscape and wildlife in this scenic part of the world is the primary inspiration for the work of renowned artist Terry Redlin. Start your exploration of Watertown at the Redlin Art Center and view his masterful interpretations of Codington County scenery. From there, hike or bike the nature trails that meander along Pelican Lake and compare Redlin's art work to the real thing. Both Lake Kampeska and Pelican Lake are located less than ten miles from our hotel in Watertown. Enjoy a quiet afternoon at the Bramble Park Zoo or a fun-filled shopping spree in the boutiques of historic Uptown Watertown. Plan a September visit to our hotel in Watertown during the annual Arts Festival and shop for handmade crafts from talented local artisans. Who knows, you may discover the next Terry Redlin.

I stayed here for one evening on my way to an event in Sioux Falls. The hotel was clean. The front desk people and breakfast hostess were very friendly. Breakfast was very good with a lot of different choices. It was a pleasant stay and I would definitely stay here again.

The facility was quite clean and the staff were very helpful (extremely nice). The pool was warm (just right). Blowers to keep the air from feeling stuffy for those in the pool area but not in the pool.

My husband and I are loyal Marriott customers but since none were available in Watertown we selected this Hampton based on reviews and what I already knew about the Hampton chain. It is a lovely Inn with friendly staff and nicely furnished, attractive rooms. Since we have family in Watertown we will make that our "home away from home" each time we visit.

Can't say enough about this hotel. Secure parking. From the minute you walk in the door you are made feel welcome. Reception staff were excellent. Room was terrific, roomy, clean, bright. Very comfortable bed. Room was quiet. Great shower. Excellent free breakfast. If in Watertown this is the hotel to stay in.

The staff at the Watertown Hampton Inn are tremendous! They go out of their way to be helpful and kind. They seem to be good friends and enjoy the working relationships, which makes for a very pleasant stay for guests. You will feel very good about coming off the highway for a peaceful night's rest. Or even better-stay a while! You'll love it!

In my opinion the nicest hotel in the Watertown SD area. The prices are a bit higher, but the little extra is worth being pamper once in a while. When we know we will be staying a few days we try to reserve a room at the Hampton just to treat ourselves. Good service clean great exercise room, and friendly employees makes each stay very worth the money.

The room was comfortable, clean, and spacious with several design touches and amenities that elevated our stay. Best of all, the facility was extra quiet!! Our sleep was fully uninterrupted. Nice pool (larger than most) and hot tub too. The breakfast was also above the usual standard with a good selection of hot items. Can't find one thing to complain about - we'll be sure to stay here again when we return on business to Watertown!

This is a very clean, very comfortable hotel with a very helpful and friendly staff. They offer free basic WiFi with the option to upgrade at a very reasonable cost if you want. The basic worked very well for me. The free breakfast was very good. I was very satisfied with all aspects of this hotel and will certainly stay again.

Based on reviews on this site, we picked this Motel for an overnight. I'm guessing it's 5 years old, but hard to tell that it didn't open this month. Comfortable, and nicely decorated..............but the detail to good housekeeping is outstanding. Better than usual breakfast offerings. My wife and I agreed, this is the nicest motel facility we've enjoyed in South Dakota in past half dozen years. Motel run N-S, and the highway run E-W so there's no side of the motel where room are more prote... Read more

Located on Highway 212 just to the west side of the Interstate exit. Plenty of restaurant choice within walking distance. Buffalo Wild Wings is located across the parking lot with Walmart directly behind the hotel. Very well managed and in excellent condition. Rooms were as new condition and very clean - excellent maid staff. Bedding was excellent and comfortable. Staff was very nice. Pool was perfect not heavily chlorinated like some hotel pools. Stayed two nights. Great hotel.

I think the woman that checked us in, was named Crissy.....she had blonde hair, and a ready smile, and was SO helpful in answering our questions, and warmly chatting with us. That right there, scores big points with me, because the person at check-in is your first impression of the hotel, and when they are smiling and friendly, it quickly puts you at ease and you feel welcome and valued as a guest. We almost always stay at Hampton Inns, or other Hilton properties when we travel, so in all honesty, at some point they all start looking alike. Unless, of course, one stands out as particularly good or bad. I think the average Hampton Inn is a 4-star hotel, with an occasional 5-star or 3-star thrown in. I rate this particular Hampton Inn on the high side of four stars...just not quite perfect. The staff was very accommodating, but the room was still the old style decor and design and we didn't... It's a Hampton Inn. I like Hilton Hotel Points, and Hampton Inns have the right level of amenities for me. I especially appreciate the table with to-go coffee with the creamer pumps in most Hampton Inn lobbies. Very handy for grabbing or topping off coffee as you head out without having to go into the breakfast area. Beds are always comfortable. I stay in this hotel every year in July, and am never disappointed. They recently won an award from Hampton Inn's and it is not surprising. They do everything well. My family has stayed at this Hampton Inn four or five times over the past several years. It remains the nicest Hampton we've stayed in. The front desk staff is friendly and helpful, calling me by my first name throughout our stay. The hotel is immaculate, breakfast delicious and the pool area was very well-maintained. Stayed here on the way out west. Clean, great location, shopping nearby for anything you need. Utilized the kitchenette in one of the suites we had and it worked great. We had 3 different rooms for our party of 10. If you need a kitchenette, make sure you check the details for your room - one of our rooms was not a "suite" so no kitchenette which we knew. Would stay again if ever back to the area!

Having stayed at the Best Western (in need of renovation), the Holiday Inn Express (nice for sure), and now this Hampton, I'd say this is the best place to stay in Watertown. This nightmare began when I decided to drive an extra two hours to get a decent night sleep at the Hampton Inn. I was going to book my room online for $119 but decided to call and they said they are full and only have suites which are $129. No big deal yet. I booked the room and arrived two hours later around 9pm. When I arrived there was no parking. The real nightmare began at the stroke of midnight when I was awoken by pounding on the floor above.
