This hotel is conveniently located both to downtown and the airport. The bed was wonderfully comfortable and the quality of the hotel is what I have come to expect from Holiday Inn. In fact, on this week long trip in six different states, I stayed at a Holiday Inn every night. They have earned my trust and business as clean, comfortable accommodations with excellent service.

The hotel seems like you are walking back a hundred years. The lobby is beautiful with an attached store that had very nice art and souvenirs. They did a good job making old rooms up to date. There was even a doorman. We ate at a Mexican restaurant a short walk away and bought chocolate in a nearby shop. We were given free parking in a garage nearby.

Decor was modern but a bit drab with neutral colors. Linens and towels of higher quality. good shower pressure but could have been hotter. bed was comfortable. Room had two large tv's and good channel selection. Atrium area was nice however the first day I was there , the AC was not working properly but fixed by the second day. So ... Read more

This is a typical older Holiday Inn circa 1970-1980. It's a bit tired but serves its purpose. The best thing about the property is its location which is near Rushmore plaza and a surprisingly vibrant downtown area. Of course, it is also convenient jumping off point to Mount Rushmore. One of the staff actually advised that I not walk through the Plaza at night due to safety reasons (the plaza lies between the hotel and the downtown area). As stated, the little downtown area is chock full of ... Read more

There is nothing wrong with this hotel but there is nothing good about it that sticks out. I'm an IHG Platinum member. When checking in, I was given a choice of 500 points or a bottle of water and trail mix. Other HI and Crowne Plaza properties have given free breakfast or an upgrade. At Hampton Inns I've gotten water and trail mix anyway. Whatever they say about a waterfall in the lobby and beautiful atrium, the place is very 80s tired. When we got to the room, we had no hot water at first a... Read more

I chose this hotel mainly due to location next to the civic center, plus walking distance to Main Street attractions. The hotel is very modern inside. Not dated. Maybe the outside could use a little sprucing. Everything about my stay was perfect. The room was clean, spacious and modern. The interior of the hotel is modern and pretty. But - it's atrium style - so very open. You can hear talking in the hallway, and from the lobby. I was on the 7th floor. All front doors/hallways face the... Read more

It is so nice when we stay in a hotel with an indoor pool, exercise room, restaurant and bar. Plenty of parking, large rooms with microwave and mini frig. I was impressed that a staff member stopped by the room after we had settled in to make sure that the room was to our standards. My wife and I had a great stay between May 28 and June 2. The room was great, so were the meals, although there was some noise from unchecked kids running around the corridors one evening. I wasn't aware of any problems until we were on the next leg of our holiday, and discovered that one of the staff had put the charges that were intended for my travel company on my travel money card -- without bothering to query with me or inform me -- and those charges maxed my card.
