This hotel is conveniently located right next to the interstate and close to Walmart, Cabelas, Hardees and Culvers. The atmosphere of the hotel was very inviting. The staff made us feel welcomed and were very accommodating. The rooms were larger than we expected! They were well cleaned and maintained. The beds were very comfortable!! We also took a dip in the pool and hot tub which we found very nice!. The pool also featured a separate shower adjacent to the pool area which came in handy. The co... Read more

I must say the beds were very comfortable. However, there are many things that are in need of TLC. The shower handle in the public shower room by the pool was broken. The curtains were threadbare in spots, letting light in. The breakfast was good, lots of choices.

The hotel is conveniently located to the interstate so getting around was pretty easy. It wasn't anything fancy. If you are looking for a quiet place this place may not be it. It seemed to have mainly families and sport teams staying in it. The breakfast room was filled every morning and it was difficult to get a table. The Fitness center was a joke. It had 1 treadmill,1 eliptical and a bike that looked like something I had in the 80's. They didn't have any weights or mats either.

What a neat surprise to find bear cubs climbing the building and peeking in windows! Our room had hard surface flooring which I appreciated. The lobby was appropriately decorated and the breakfast was good. I would definitely recommend this hotel if you are staying in Mitchell, SD. I understand they have hotels throughout South Dakota.

We always plan our trip around being able to stay here. Just really nice, and when we used to have a dog....this was her favorite hotel. She refused to stay in several other hotels....so always had to let her see the room before we stayed or she would groan in distress all night with her orthopedic bed, pillow and blanket ! Once I told her she would sleep in the car if she kept it up ! I look at it this way, if my dog backs out and refuses to go in a room ,I really prefer not to stay there e... Read more

The rooms are very clean and updated. The beds and pillows are comfortable. The free buffet breakfast was OK. The pool was nice sized. The staff were not too friendly. It almost became humorous how cranky they were. They barked at the elderly couple in line in front of us because they didn't have their licence place number memorized and said they might get towed (how's that for a greeting at check in). They wouldn't let us turn on the TV in the lounge/breakfast area because they thought i... Read more

We stopped in Mitchell on our way to the Black Hills. It is conveniently located and easy to access. It is a well maintained hotel, clean and comfortable. It is not luxury nor is it a dump! It is an above average place which suited us fine. The staff was friendly and helpful. We would stay here again!

Very comfortable and cozy motel. Wildlife dominated the decor inside and out - it was fun to see. Everything was nice and clean and quiet. Breakfast was fine. Lady that booked us in at night wasn't very friendly, but Teresa ( I believe that's the right name) in the morning was super nice and credit to this establishment.

We arrived very late at Kelly Inn and Suites and were pleasantly and warmly greeted. The lamps were turned on in our room and the air temperature was at a comfortable level. The bed felt like heaven with lots of pillows! We did not get up to eat breakfast. Great stay!

We stopped at the Kelly Inn as a half way mark to Rapid City. It's done up in a cabin, bear theme. Lots of logs and rustic decor. The beds were really comfortable and the staff was friendly. The continental breakfast was good and it's pet friendly. The pool is very clean which is a must! No complaints here!

Very nice for the price. Lodge decor and I loved the little carved bears climbing around the outside. My mom collects bears so loved this place. Nice pool and jacuzzi. Adequate breakfast included but bring your own ketchup. Fast food, restaurant and Walmart across the street. Clean and comfortable bed. Shampoo soap and wash cloths are on the counter so grab them before heading into the shower. Free wifi. Overall a very nice place to stay

We were trying to make it to Sioux Falls (from WY) but got too tired, so we called a few hotels in Mitchell...I was so glad to finally speak with Peggy @ Kelly Inn. She was super helpful and took time to efficiently explain all the amenities that came with the room (pool, breakfast, etc.). We booked the room and arrived an hour later completely exhausted. Once again Peggy was efficient in checking us in and sending us off to our room with a friendly smile - all in just minutes. When we opened th... Read more

I really liked this hotel. Like a forest lodge with a lot of bear decor. Beds were awesome. Nice location near food and stores. Easy 90 freeway access. Would stay there again. Good hot breakfast included.

This is a fantastic mid-range hotel. Excellent, attentive staff, beautiful accomodations, and a hearty breakfast in wonderful surroundings. As other reviewers have noted, the carved bears all over the outside of the hotel are a fun touch for kids if you're travelling with them. We were greeted by one of the best hotel attendants we encountered on our two week vacation, and our rooms were spacious, bright, and well appointed. Loved the breakfast area and the food served therein.

Conveniently located near the I-90, the Kelly Inn is a good place to stay with large rooms, an indoor pools (with windows looking over the pool on the ground and first floor), a hearty breakfast and a nice and efficient reception staff. The interior design is not my favourite but the other aspects largely offset this; free wifi is on the slow side, however.

Theresa at the front desk was amazing. Really great with people. Paul the man in charge of breakfast was wonderful never ran out of anything even having buses everyday. breakfast area was always kept clean. Rooms were clean and fresh. Children in pool area need to be supervised by parents. Yes children play but no parents in sight bad idea. They were running and jumping between pool and hot tub. Was waiting for one to get hurt.

Nicely decorated hotel. Furniture and decorations give a northwoods look. Nice pool, whirlpool and small fitness center. Ice machine on each floor. Hot breakfast with eggs, sausage and the normal breakfast items. Pillows do not have what I call pillow cases. Glad I brought my own pillows.

Lobby is really nice right when you walk in. Room was good. We used the whirlpool, and it discolored my wife's swim suit. They paid for the washing machine to wash it as well as the detergent. That didn't work so they did comp a fair amount to replace the suit. They also closed off the whirlpool to prevent it from happening to anyone else, noting that there must have been an issue with the chemicals. We were happy with the result. She was sad she lost her favorite swim suit though. Very accommo... Read more

This is a lovely hotel and it was very comfortable. I wish we had more than one night to be able to enjoy this facility! The staff was very friendly, the hotel provided breakfast was adequate and the rooms were very nice. There were a bunch of kids using the pool, so we didn't, but they have a slide!

I don't want to come off too negative, but this hotel just has an old cabin feel to it. My honey was more picky about it than I was, so it just depends on your level of expectation as to whether you will like it or not. The room was clean and for breakfast they had some yummy doughnuts out. However, I referred to the bathtub as a crime scene because it had orange rust (I assume) in it. It definitely lacked the finer look of modern hotels, but I wouldn't discourage others from staying there.

We just had the best nights sleep, and our room was very clean. Staff was very hospitable. Breakfast was expanded continental. Scrambled eggs, link sausage, waffle maker, pastries, fruit, juice and coffee.

Some of the reviews we read were not the best but thought we would take a gamble and it paid big time. THE ROOM WAS CLEAN AND THE MOST COMFORTABLE BED EVER in a motel. Staff was so nice and the breakfast was delicious and area was very clean. We even went swimming and in the hot tub. We will stay there again and do recommend.

Oldler decor but comfortable. It was awkward finding a place for my laptop. The front doors should be automatic, so that it is easier to get luggage in and out. The breakfast area was limited - no cup lids, no trays.

i read the other reviews before booking a room and I am glad I did! We travel a lot and we usually stay with the better known motels/hotels. I'm sure glad we decided to give this one a try! The room we booked was two queens. It was spacious and VERY clean and comfortable! We stayed on the first floor which had two entrances one from the parking lot and one from the inside of the hotel. We were a short- very short- drive to Cabela's and within walking distance actually to Cabela's and MANY Res... Read more
