Some Holiday Inn Express hotels are better than others and this was a very good one. Located just off the main road through Keystone the hotel was easy to find and had ample parking. Make sure you park in the hotel car park and not on the street. The on street parking is reserved for city employees and you will get a ticket if you park there. Hotel room was very large with a comfortable king bed and a small kitchen with fridge, microwave, sink etc. Having said that there was no cutlery or c... Read more

This motel is very comfortable. The staff was friendly and eager to please. Their morning hot breakfast was fresh and tasty both days I visited. The lobby was appropriately decorated for the area. The location was easy walking distance to the attractions in this quaint old mining town. My room was next to a compressor that cycled all day and night which was most disturbing. Do not take room 201 in this motel.

Nestled right in a little town near Mt. Rushmore, great location, peaceful, love the lobby décor! All the staff that I came in contact with was wonderful, and friendly. They recommended a great neighborhood restaurant right next door with the best smoked chicken and ribs. The room was very large with a high ceiling. Even though they had massive young adults there on some kind of field trip, the hotel was quiet. It also had a washer and dryer available. Great! I am planning on returning.

Booked this hotel online like I do with so many Holiday Inn's I stay at. This was part of a family motorcycle trip with my 2 brothers and our father which we traveled several states. I always get the government rate when booking rooms, as I work for a government agency. There are 3 retired law enforcement officers and 1 retired army veteran and they would not honor any other discounts. They jumped the price up $56 per room and I asked to speak to the manager. For the positive, the front desk staff was very friendly. They also provided a decent dinner suggestion. For the negative, the bed was terrible. It sunk in the middle. Every time we got in, we rolled to the middle. Breakfast bar had a lot of empty containers and didn't normally see anyone taking care of things.

Comfy beds, nice amenities and common area close to downtown. However, in our two-Queen room, the bathroom is so small that the bathroom door barely clears the toilet. You have to squeeze in between the toilet and the sink to close it! Then there is a large kitchenette area and sofa/sitting area that has no separate TV or real separation from the bed area. Very odd room arrangement. Parking is extremely limited and oddly arranged horizontally, parallel to the building, and you get ticketed if y... Read more

We stayed here for three nights and it was perfectly located for Mount Rushmore, wind caves, Jewel caves, minuteman missile, air and space, 1880 train. Easy to walk around town and restaurants. Had an issue first night with the bed and Zachary came up, rectified the issue and did it professionally and with a great attitude. Breakfast is plentiful and staff friendly. Lots of families and couple but rooms were quiet. Only question is why was the bed and the toilet so very low? Would stay again.

The beds are so-so comfortable. It is a spacious room and the location is perfect for restaurants, strolling and hitting Mount Rushmore. The staff is great - very accommodating when it comes to any requests. You won't get a luxury hotel in this town, so this could very well be the best one in the area given the size of the rooms. The breakfast is the usual Holiday Inn stuff - yogurt, english muffins out of the bag and re-cooked eggs. Quiet rooms though and it's the best one can do in ... Read more

Small towns sometimes are sparse on luxury, however, for the clean room and the hospitality they are huge. We really appreciate Casey's personable service even though the night we started there some idiot actually tried to take the smoke detector off the wall in their room and caused the fire alarm to go off and all guest had to evacuate at 11:45 pm. I hope they fined them for just being plain stupid. But the staff was very good and it was a very quiet nights rest after that.

This hotel was ok for our one night stay to visit Mt. Rushmore but noticing the other choices in Keystone it still might be your best option. I would think in such a high tourist area there would be at least one higher end resort-type accommodation. Not the case. Well at check in, I expected to get the option between a property gift or points.. didn't happen. Not a big deal, but then I wasnt even greeted as a gold elite member. Okay not a big deal. We got to our room and I noticed a couple strands of hair on the sheets...no big deal I pulled them off. When we got ready to go to sleep I pulled back the cover and it was covered in hair. Gross!!! So I called down to ask for a new sheet and fitted because of hair and the front desk lady did not apologize or ... Read more

One of the nicest Holiday Inn Express hotels I have stayed at. Less than $100 a night when we traveled there as well. Great breakfast. Neat small water park for kiddos. I traveled on business so I did not partake in neat kid pool stuff. Good shower height, water pressure, quiet room, nice bed/pillows, friendly staff, large dining area, really good coffee for a hotel, and close to walmart, gas station, fast food as well. Highly recommended.

Our room was clean and spacious and the beds and pillows were reasonably comfortable. The hotel room was at ... Read more

This Holiday Inn was pretty nice, It is very close like (10 minutes or less) to Mt. Rushmore. The parking situation isn't that great but the little downtown mountain town stuff is all walking distance. Not alot of competition, but good for the price!

It's great to stay with a familiar brand and still be pleasantly surprised with more. Parking is close and plentiful (thank you, front desk staff, for letting me know not to park in the "employees only" spots), the lobby very attractive with game and décor that reflected the area, a room that was spotless with high ceilings and everything you would expect. The amazing reward for traveling off season was that my rate was $58! Breakfast is what Holiday Inn Express always has but it was hot and... Read more
