Ok so let's start with breakfast. We are gf ( have to be not by choice ) and were pleasantly surprised they had individually wrapped Udis muffins and bagels! This was a quick one night stop and it was fine. Clean room no issues. Cracker Barrel across the street. We were happy that we saw NO gentlemen's club so I'm not sure what other reviewer was speaking of.. Ok area with gas station next door. Basically a good hotel to stop at on a road trip.

Heading up I95 and looking for an exit with decent place to sleep and a choice of eats and Walterboro was it. Wanted to get north of Savannah and this fits the bill. Well run HIE with the usual breakfast. Everything clean, quiet and good. Friendly folks.

Great Welcome, comfortable rooms, great breakfast. Great Staff, made you feel welcome and were very friendly and accommodating. The Breakfast was outstanding for a Holiday Inn Express. The location is just off the I-75. Shopping, Food and Drink are near and a few are within walking distance of the hotel.

This Holiday Inn Express is in a convenient location just off I-95. I found the hotel exceptionally clean and the staff quiet friendly. Our room was very clean and comfortable. The bed was exceptionally great after a long drive. It is convenient to several restaurants. We are happy we stopped there and will definitely stop again if we are in the area.

Don't usually stop at the Holiday Inn chains, glad we stayed here. Kind of half way home, we were very please with Estelle at the front desk, the location of our accessible room and the cleanliness. My husband enjoyed the cookies and we all enjoyed the breakfast....will make this our stop over from now on....good job!!! Traveled with my son and daughter-in-law and their room was perfect as well.

Nice, clean, comfortable place to stay if you need a break while traveling on I-95. Free breakfast was plentiful...including the cool pancake machine! One note about the exit...there is absolutely nothing open except gas stations after 11pm!

My wife and I stayed here on our way to Florida for a family visit. We choose this hotel over our normal hotel 50 miles away due to the Interstate being closed. We were warmly welcomed. The staff was very helpful in supplying information about the status of the highway as well as what restaurants were in the area. The room was very quiet and clean. The complimentary breakfast was excellent. This was a great stay.

stopped on our way from FL to MD. one of the best night's sleep i've had in ages. the room was so comfortable. the hotel was packed. the only noise i heard the whole time was an alarm clock in the next room. the free breakfast was fast and delicious. no complaints at all. if we ever need to stop again off 95., this place is tops on the list. very easy to get off and on the highway.

Stayed here while traveling with grandchildren, one night on 4th of July weekend. Had 2 rooms (they don't have adjoining rooms, incase your wondering) but side by side worked for us. Beds were very comfortable. Rooms clean. Cracker Barrel and Ruby Tuesday are close by. There is no pool. We found the staff.......polite. Basically doing their job. Not much smiling going on there. Breakfast was the usual. Pancake machine was broken. Only saw the attendant once. I think there is some employee disgru... Read more

This hotel was very clean with nice updates. The hotel staff was friendly. The room was spacious and clean. The only issue we had was a smoke detector on the 1st floor had a low battery and chirped all night. I mentioned it at check out. I didn't get a great response and only half an apology. I was there on an employee rate, so I felt like nothing would be done as far as satisfaction for listening to a chirping detector all night.

Our family stopped at this particular Holiday Inn Express and received a great nights rest. The Check In process was quick and Derek, the front desk clerk, was friendly and efficient. The room was clean, modern, and well taken care of. We slept 5 in the room comfortably. We stayed in a room with two queens and a pull out couch. There was ample choice for breakfast in the morning (which came with the room) and the workers kept the food area well stocked and clean.

My family stayed here passing through on vacation. I saw that it was rated #1 on Trip Advisor and gave it a try. We were pleasantly surprised! Derek greeted us with a smile, thanked me for being a member and we struck a great conversation about Tar Heel basketball. The room was spacious and clean. The beds were very comfortable and quiet. The breakfast is all that we could have asked for and has something for everyone. Overall a very good sty and we will return. Job well done!!

Stopped here on the way home from Florida. Not too much in the immediate area, but if you're just looking for a hotel to rest your head before moving on, I'd recommend it. The rooms are clean. The staff is friendly. There are restaurants close by for dinner. Free breakfast is a bonus.

Stopped to rest on our way to Florida. Staff were extremely caring and attentive. Rooms were very clean. Lots of room. Fridge in room was a bonus. Breakfast was average but staff was attentive. We went to shines for dinner. Nor the best place for 3 vegetarians to go. We didn't even look for a pool so I can't even tell you if there was one. Beds were comfortable and we slept like babies!

Wow! We stumbled into this Holiday Inn Express because we had been driving since 7:00 this morning and got too tired to go farther. When I got off Hwy 95 I remembered that I had been here before. But then, there was some remodeling going on. When I asked about a vacancy, the perfect journey started. The staff was too good for a Saturday evening staff. Helpful as all out. After I shared my identity they reminded me that I had been there before and 'welcome back.' Since I was a platinum member I g... Read more

My family and I stopped in last minute and late at night when we couldnt make it all the way to Savannah. Now as I personally am a Hilton guy and saw a Hampton Inn directly across the street, it looked run down and do not like having the door to my room open to the outside --no security. So I chose Holiday Inn Express instead as it looked nicer, newer and a better security set-up. Dispite their system being down and it being busy, the gentlemen were very friendly, accommodating and profession... Read more

Other than difficulty with wifi, we had a very pleasant stay. Quiet, comfortable, and a good breakfast offering. The hotel is fairly new so the mattresses were super comfy. There is a Cracker Barrel across the street, but no sidewalks. The lady at the desk was very helpful. Hopefully the owners keep the place up.

The room was reasonably clean but poorly lit. Energy saver bulbs are inadequate for the space. The air conditioning unit is not thermostatically controlled which made for an uncomfortable environment. When I notified the desk that inwas unable to connect to the wifi the response I received was "go outdoors". This after a day of driving with the outdoor temperature in the mid 90s. Had to make that long drive back from South Florida to Virginia...and South Carolina is usually a good place to stop. We had never stayed in Walterboro before, but since we are IHG/Priority Club members we usually book one of their hotels. This one did not disappoint. We were up and back on the road again ready to go after a good night's sleep. The hotel was clean and comfortable.

We were on our way back from south GA on 9-1-16 trying to get ahead of Tropical Storm Hermine (SP). Didn't even know what town we were in until this review. We existed off exit 53 heading north on I-95 at 10:30pm in a raging storm. The night clerk saw us walk in as he was out front scheming on a woman staying at the hotel. Excellent experiences at this hotel! The staff was super friendly and attentive. The rooms and overall facility is very well maintained and my request for a first floor room was honored. The breakfast is typical for a HIE and I had no complaints. The hotel is conveniently located just off I-95 but the room was pleasingly quiet! I will definitely recommend this hotel to anyone travelling from the NE to Florida.

The rooms all have fridges and microwaves and are fairly spacious. The beds were comfortable. My husband and I spent a night at this hotel for a second time on our way to Florida. It offers easy access off 95 plus several gas stations to refuel for the next day. The hotel had been recently renovated. The check-in was smooth and the clerk friendly. We chose a king bed room with a chair and ottoman, desk and chair. While we had no intention of spending 5 nights in Walterboro, our stay with this hotel could not have been better. We reserved 3 nights initially in anticipation of Hurricane Matthew, evacuating from Hilton Head with a dog and cat in tow, and extended for 2 additional days. We stayed one night while traveling. The front desk staff was delightful and helpful when asked questions about where to eat. Our room was fine, except when I turned the heat on, there was a strong odor, like some kind of cleaner or air freshener, which turned my stomach, so I turned it off. The food offered was OK but nothing special. I observed a gross sanitation violation, which I intend to convey in detail to the manager. That is why I marked cleanliness low.

We arrived ahead of schedule and checked into this hotel. The front desk staff was pleasant, yet, preoccupied with other issues it seemed to me. Well, moving forward, we got up to our room, and the hallways looked as though it had been in a war zone. Old sheets, towels and garbage bags lay everywhere. No real sense of order. Maid carts were everywhere. All the doors were open, cleaning staff was working hard, but it seemed again, to be in disarray - no sense of order. It appeared they were n... Read more
