The ladies attending this Lounge are top notch. Especially Ms. Dodie! She makes you feel at home, regardless of how far you traveled. While she is my favorite, every member of the staff is helpful, and merry. They all work very hard to make their guests feel at home!

We went to a big dinner. The servers did not speak English well at all, were not friendly. They acted as if we had dropped into their house unexpectedly. The dinner was not set up on time. Two extra people were squeezed into our table so we asked if we could sit outside where there were plenty of empty chairs. We were curtly refused, no reason. It took an hour and a half to serve dinner so half of the table had finished before the rest were served. The food was cold and barely edible. Apparently... Read more

It was a good place to stay, and so convenient to both downtown and Wofford College. The only downside is that it is a bit of a victim of its own success. The bar area and patio area are lovely, but when basically everyone in the hotel wanted to be in those spaces Saturday evening, they didn't have a fraction of enough staff to handle the crowd. The food was good but we had to wait an hour for it, and the drinks were good though we had to ask for basics like tonic in our gin and tonics! It was j... Read more

Generous sized room and bathroom. Very clean, not old or showing wear. Good room service, although not a huge number of choices. I had the hummus, the broccoli and cheese soup, and the crunchy French toast -- all good. Very comfortable bed and pillows. Attached parking garage was a plus since it was raining, although i wound up finding it confusing when I was leaving in a hurray (sections are evidently lettered/numbered same on both levels) ... just pay closer attention when you arrive and ... This hotel is located in downtown Spartanburg. It is the host hotel for the annual cycling challenge of the Assault on Mt. Mitchell. The staff is very accommodating to the cyclists and their families. They even opened breakfast an hour early for the riders. The hotel rooms are clean and spacious. The staff is very friendly. The gym is larger than the average "exercise room" in many hotels. I would definitely stay here again.

I've been in lots of Marriotts -- this one is among the nicest and rivals the upper-class JW. The staff is super friendly, and the rooms were updated and clean. A nice touch was staff waiting near the elevators in the morning to guide/assist guests. I was slightly disappointed with the breakfast buffet (sausages tasted awful) but my overall stay was excellent. Free wi-fi in the rooms would have made it better.

My husband and I stayed at this location after attending a concert in Asheville. All of the hotels where we would have liked to have stayed in Asheville were booked because it was the Memorial Day weekend, so we opted to stay in Spartanburg instead. The facility was very clean and the room was nice. The bed was very comfortable, but the showerhead in the bathroom was fantastic. (I could have taken an hour long shower if the time allowed because it was just that good!) The location is about ... Read more

We arrived on a Friday afternoon for a 2 night stay. My husband is a graduate of the Class of 1966 and Wofford honors the 50 year graduates at graduation by having them lead the current graduating class into the ceremony. Also we were treated to a cocktail party and dinner on Saturday evening and a boxed lunch after the graduation on Sunday. It was a wonderful weekend and Spartanburg Marriott was the perfect place to stay. Shortly after our arrival we noticed that one of the sconce type lights... Read more

I have to say that when we first arrived the first impression is that this hotel is very beautiful in the traditional sense. Marble flooring, high ceilings, with stunning views of the trees. We were grateful that we got an upgrade to a "suite" since there were three of us but it was just a nice sized room with a table and couch not anything separated and with our platinum status paying for this hotel it didn't get us much in the way of the room since they were booked however we had booked our re... I was in Spartanburg on business and decided to try the Marriott. I've traveled to Spartanburg in the past and hadn't found anything near an acceptable hotel. In the future I'll only stay here. The property is convenient, clean, spacious and loaded with amenities. The staff is as good as I've encountered. Jo at the front desk is perhaps the best hotel representative I've ever had the pleasure of meeting. The on property dining and drink options make it a struggle to leave the hotel. The ro... We love staying here on our way to Hilton Head. It's clean, has a friendly staff, and great amenities. We love relaxing on the large patio at night with big comfy seating and fire pits! A large green space behind the property is a nice backdrop too. The bar and restaurant are nice options when you want to stay on property. However, it's only a couple blocks distance to Main Street where there are lots of dining and entertainment options. We will be back again.

Staying for a weekend while attending a class with friends. Was told restaurant opened at 7am. My roommate and I decided to order off the menu instead of the buffet as that was going to be too much food for us. We just wanted proteins and coffee. First our toasted bread choice was brought out separate from our eggs and meat....nearly 10 prior. Was cold when it was brought out. I live in hotels (practically). This Marriott rivals the service of any Ritz Carlton. I am impressed and have been every time. They anticipate my needs and when I have brought family they have been incredibly accommodating. From the ladies at the front desk to the lounge staff in the concierge lounge, this hotel is a joy.

I recently stayed at the presidential suite in spartanburg and my experience was extremely enjoyable due to great service and quality rooms, id like to personally thank the associate who made it possible for us to book such a wonderful experience, Panhina Kue. Such a professional and friendly person, with employees like her any one can feel more than welcome and comfortable at the Marriott here in Spartanburg.

We were travelling with friends on a superb USA road-trip, and happened to be heading for the lovely town of Spartanburg late on a Sunday morning. We decided that brunch would be a great idea, and phoned ahead to book the Marriott restaurant. It was absolutely superb. The range and quality of the buffet was truly outstanding, the service was efficient yet unobtrusive, and it remains one of the best meals we had in our three week holiday. Highly, highly recommended.

We have family in Spartanburg so we always stay at this hotel. It is beyond a 5 star hotel. You feel like your in paradise when you walk in. The room is very nice, the workout room is perfect for a workout and the pool is beyond perfection. The restaurant inside is also 5 star and the breakfast is outstanding. This is the hotel you MUST stay at if your in the area :) Also the pricing is very good.

My wife and I stayed at this hotel for two days. Our daughter's graduation was held in this hotel. Very nice clean hotel in this area. Friendly staff. Closer to the Greenville airport. Restaurant bar in the lobby level was good. Unfortunately the mixer was out of order for them to make the drinks with ice. The food served during the graduation event was average. Very nice view from the even hall balcony and we took many nice photos.

Let me start on a low and end on a high. My entire stay was overall fine. The customer service (bar one instance, which I'll get to) was outstanding as always. This is my second visit and I'd happily make many more. Ok my lows of the place: The swimming pool area seems neglected. Yes, South Carolina is generally hot and people want to stay out of the sun, but there are folk, like myself that want to go in the pool to cool off and swim. I was not pleased with my stay here. It was a very nice hotel as far as appearance goes, and the staff was friendly. However, my toilet did not flush correctly. When I tried to get room service, I was put on hold twice and no one ever came to the phone or even connected with me room service. For the price I paid, i expected more. Was disappointed as I usually really enjoy Marriotts.

I was in town on business. Every person I met--from the young man at the front desk to the restaurant waiter to the wonderful women who serviced our all-day business meeting--was friendly and helpful, and bent over backwards to fulfill our requests. It was classic Marriott service, and I love it! I asked for a room on a low floor near the elevator and got a room on the 6th floor as far from the elevator as I could get ... but it was a comfortable and quiet room.
