My son had booked had booked this hotel. I read trip advisor reviews and was super worried. The staff was not friendly at the front desk and not helpful. The room itself was much more pleasant than I had expected... besides these issues. *The floors needed swept...the floor in front of sink had little pieces of trash? on it. Very visible. The bathroom had plumbing issues, such as the toilet wouldn't stop running and then flushing (annoying when sleeping) and the cold faucet, on the shower, w... Read more

We had read some poor reviews and were very pleasantly surprised with our stay. Clean rooms, accurate reservations, friendly staff, relatively quiet considering location. Breakfast needs a few additional items, ie fruit. We love La Quinta's pet friendliness.

Stayed for 3 nights never received housekeeping services. Had to empty far ages on the room ourselves, had to get fresh towels from the front desk, blood stains (not from us) on the comforter never addressed, cockroaches in the bathroom. Val at the front desk was very friendly and accommodating and tried her best to get our room services but to no avail

We booked this hotel, but decided when we saw it to go elsewhere. The property is extremely run down and sketchy looking. There is Wi-Fi and air conditioning in the lobby, which was handy while we found another hotel. None of the desk staff seemed to notice that we had come in or were there at all.

My wife and I travel with our dog. La Quinta Inns are one of a few chains that allow the dog to stay without extra charges or having a weight limit. In the past we have been pleased with our stays at La Quinta. The same cannot be said of this one. We took a much need break and traveled to Charleston for a few days. We choose this La Quinta because we are on a budget. Check in took way longer than it should and the room was to have been no smoking. My wife walked into the first room and ... Read more

Room not cleaned or bed made until night before departure, cigarette butt found between mattress protector and bottom sheet. Had to obtain toilet paper and towels from front desk. Towel from previous occupant left hanging on door hook in bathroom. Bed made hours before my departure, insuring next occupant would sleep on same sheets as I.

although this is an older hotel, the room was recently renovated, the bed was very comfortable, the staff pleasant and helpful and the price is very reasonable for the Charleston area....one caveat is that the breakfast was very basic and could be better, but we would stay here again!

It was a good stay overall the room wasn't cleaned the first two days an after contacting the front desk on two different occasions finally the problem was taking care of an after that no problems occurred it was easy access off an on the interstate an close to downtown

Over Memorial Day weekend, most every hotel was fully booked; La Quinta saved the day. The price was fair for the room we received. The rooms have been recently renovated and ours was very clean and comfortable. Ground floor facing the pool was nice. Although Tropical Storm Bonnie ruined any change of going outside, we enjoyed staying in our room. The bed was firm; one thing I'm not big on are these little square pillows. We had like 6 of them, but I would rather have just 2 of the bigger ... Read more

You only get one time to make a 1st impression. No proper greeting at check-in/out. No customary bag of water and fruit. Dirty bathroom had hair in tub(had to wash out to use) and trash on floor. Room not large enough to be called handicap accessible not large enough to maneuver a scooter or manual wheelchair nowhere but front door area. Stale smell. Not the service, environment or atmosphere I'm use to at the La Quinta. Being a GOLD member with 36 stays in past 2 years I should know. Also had t... Read more

This is one of the worst LaQuinta hotels I have stayed in. My room service (cleaning) was skipped two days out of seven. This hotel has no washers and dryers for customers. Satellite TV service is sporadic or doesn't work at all. I suggest trying the LaQuinta near downtown Charleston.

The pictures on Hotels.com never depicted that this is a motel! The lights were burnt out just outside our room which was the first bad sign. Inside, there was mold on the shower curtain, dim lighting throughout, and hair on a towel. No toiletries, no soap, no cups. It was just disgusting. The only reason at all we stayed was because we arrived after 11PM with 2 kids so we thought it was too late to go elsewhere. Definitely should have!

Dirty, out dated room. Literally right next to the interstate, just feet away from the giant concrete wall. Shady people hanging around outside rooms, talking late into the night. La quinta is not what it used to be.

We stayed 4 nights, had our 2 dogs, & never had any significant problems. Free breakfast, friendly front staff that helped us find a place to fix a flat tire we got. Cleanliness left a little to be desired, (found a couple of things on the floor) but not horrible. No bugs. Toilet could have been serviced. But easy access to pool, ice & vending. Felt safe. Right off the interstate.

Do NOT stay here under any circumstances. La Quinta needs to sell this property to prevent brand degradation, otherwise invest heavily in remodelling and hiring respectable personnel (mainly the night check-in person - the check-outs am neutral on, I did not have interaction with any others, maids, etc.).

Staff attitude and professionalism needs improvement. Front desk neglects to answer the phone after hours (3rd shift) when rooms are completely booked but also after reservations have called to cancel, the staff neglects to make an effort to accommodate anyone else trying to stay the night. Even when early check-in requests have been made & can be honored, you cannot depend on the 1st shift staff to offer other available room options to you. I had looked on THEIR website to see 4 out of 5 stars . . . boy was that misleading. We were with friends, went in and reserved two king rooms and paid. Received rooms 103 & 104. Went into 103, dark and thought it didn't smell well. Sat on the bed and all you could feel was springs. My husband and I thought - OMG. We were back out before the friends even got to their room. Theirs was the same. We went back to the office. I told the man that I was sorry, but the bed was terrible. Eviden... Read more

From the moment we arrived we knew this stay was going to be challenging. Strong cigarette smells in "non-smoking" rooms, non-functioning refrigerators, AND BLACK MOLD growing in the shower. The Department of health should visit this place. This hotel is an asthmatic's nightmare. This hotel is not family friendly. There are way too many pot-smoking, beer drinking guests that watch the children swimming. The front desk staff are indifferent to requests. The breakfast options are limited and w... Read more

We stayed there one night to rest up before our flight out the next day. The front desk service was good. They even stored our luggage for us until later in the day. The disappointment came from the room, the lack of shuttle service to the airport and the breakfast buffet which was only pre-packaged, pre-made foods. We would not choose it again.

Overnight stay in a pet friendly hotel. It is right under the highway. Forget scenic views! Reserved a suite, which was only $10 more, and the room was spacious and clean with microwave and refrigerator, but no freezer section. Hotel caters to construction workers. Very noisy location, even though told it wasn't. Breakfast very poor quality and limited vAriety. Many workmen stay here and we're rude and left refrigeration truck running outside my room all night. Office staff had them move it once, but they moved it back, very cheeky, so noisy, even over ear-plugs. I won't stay there again, or reccomend it. Cockroaches in bathroom too.

Booked this hotel for two rooms for two Nights and asked to have the rooms side by side due to wanting to have my Son and Granddaughter near me. This motel was convenient and near the interstate but I was so disgusted by the grey goop on the scummy tiles in the pool and the incredibly cheap unsupportive soft mattress that I had to move on. This is a "traveling construction crew" kind of place that use the pool as a bathtub. I am not sure what the original branding on this property was but it is obviously tired and now not of a very high quality. La Quinta national needs to up there standards or they are going to be known as a Rodeway I... Read more

We wanted a hotel near the airport, and this one seemed perfect. It was inexpensive, looked good in the photos and was not far from the airport. In real life, it was an old hotel, but to be honest, they have done a really good job hiding that fact--the floors are new, the walls are well painted and the beds quite comfortable. But it's really a 2-story motel each room door opens to the parking lot or upper balcony. The free breakfast was fine, the wifi fast, and the parking was ample. Ice maker w... Read more

Stayed in July. Beds were soft. Bathroom/Shower area were small. Floor of tub is a bit creaky. While sitting at the desk found a note from a previous guest warning the next person DO NOT STAY here. Also found an earing that wasn't ours. Perhaps clean a little more thorough so next guest doesn't find previous persons suggestions of notes. Hotel offered breakfast also has a small mini store in lobby for things. Drive is about 15 min to downtown historical Charleston. Over all decent stay.

I say don't judge because although the hotel looks a little dated on the outside and it's near the highway, the rooms have been renovated nicely and I couldn't hear the traffic once I shut the door. It was obviously very well insulated. My room was very clean and well-pointed with very nice furniture. The fridge and microwave were in a small armoire and I also had a large, flat screen TV. The bathroom was clean and had plenty of towels. Most importantly in this kind of heat and humidity, the... Read more
