If you are coming for a performance at the Coliseum or Performing Arts Center, this is the place to stay. It is a short walk. If you are coming to visit downtown Charleston, this is the place to stay. The rates are much better than downtown and it is a short drive or Uber to the downtown area.

This was my first time to stay in an Aloft hotel and it was fine. The lobby looks like a nightclub (but with more expensive fare). The room is very open with a pocket door enclosing the toilet and shower. The room was comfortable and the temperature control was great. The TV alone drops with hotel a star. I could hardly control it with the remote and it was so frustrating. Before you guess it was a user error, I am a professional videographer dealing in broadcast video. It was so frustrating.

I am a local here to Charleston and find myself returning to the hotel bar over and over. The service is wonderful, the bartender, Amber is so friendly and knowledgeable!! I think that its a fun atmosphere when she is there along with karaoke and the other performers they have regularly.

My husband and I stayed 1 night here and it was horrible. The room was the loudest I have ever stay in at any hotel. It wasn't the people, it was the actual room. Between the air venting/some water pipe making noise every 2-5min this pregnant momma didn't sleep at all. Not sure if it was just our room (223) or the whole hotel, we will not be back.

The Room had a Hippish type College Dorm Vibe to it. I'm in my 40's so I need something more spacious. The Front lobby was very stylish. Pool tables nice Bar, Fire place and Great Sitting area. Also the outdoor area was very nice with great seating.

If you have ever stayed at Aloft you will know what to expect and you will get it here. The rooms are large, the grounds are nice and there is plenty of free parking. The check in was seamless, the lobby including the WXYZ Bar was ‚??jumping‚?? the rooms were nice and large and the air-conditioning could freeze a cup of ice in your room! The bathroom shower pressure left a lot to be desired but the shower was spacious, the towels plentiful and fluffy. The amenities are scant as you get a small ... Read more

Very modern hotel, great beds, firm mattress and fluffy bedding....perfect! Room was clean. Great location, very close to Tanger Outlet Mall. Not a large hotel, which is a plus in my book! Staff very friendly and accomodating. Bathroom is spacious and located behind the wall where the beds are, nice layout!

I was somewhat hesitant about this hotel after reading few negative things on here. I am glad I decided to give this hotel a try. I have nothing but positive things to say about my stay. Friendly staff, odor-free hotel and the room, complimentary parking, and dogs stay free! My four-legged companion was even presented with a doggie bag that contained the "dog in room" door sign, chewy bones and a tennis ball. I love Aloft hotels and this one is excellent.

A waste of a trip to this hotel. We stayed 10 minutes then left and stayed somewhere else. The room was a neat set up but there was stains and hairs on the bedding, toilet was nasty, carpet stains, nasty walls plus the traffic was terrible just getting to the hotel off the interstate.

I stayed at this Aloft over the Memorial Day weekend. There were a few issues I encountered during my stay. The major issue being an extremely molded pastry from the breakfast area. My wife had picked up two pastries and brought it back to room. After consuming one, she offered me the other. That's when I noticed that the entire bottom of the pastry was completely molded. It is easy to miss since the mold was in the back and the plastic wrapper covers most of that area. I was extremely upset abo... Read more

I was disappointed. First of all, this place is very noisy. My room is by elevator and I can hear that darn thing all night long. The airport is close by, as well. It would not be so bad, but A/C doesn't run constantly, even though it is on fan, so my sleep was interrupted. The breakfast was expensive, and all prepackaged. The fitness center is nice, but the ellipticals were both broken. Disappointing.

Room was mediocre and air conditioning very noisy. What was worse, is the lack of a service-oriented attitude at the reception desk and elsewhere. Gimmicky colors and architecture do not compensate with the lack of customer-oriented attitude. I feel nobody cares at this place. I would question even if there is a management team! Will never come back. Real waste of time & money. Go somewhere else. Save yourself the hassle

Found 4 Roaches in bathroom. Hallways and elevator was hot as if no air-conditioning. Only had 2 towels and 3 wash rags for a family of 4. When asked for more they never arrived on the first night and was told we would have to wait for the dryer to finish on the 2nd night. The towel bar in the shower had a huge rust stain.

Based on the recent reviews I expected to be disappointed. Rooms were big and clean. Shower was nice and Lovely was great. Air conditioning was not the best but a fan was provided to keep the room cool enough for us Would definitely stay again.

We had an airplane delay that was unavoidable. Our voucher was for Aloft. Although there were several things missing from our room (trash can and ice bucket), the staff more than made up for that. We arranged for late check-out then extended it, washed clothes, enjoyed the pool, & utilized the WXYZ Bar.

We chose this location for our recent trip to Charleston as we wanted to include our dog on the trip. Our room was not very clean, and did not smell good. We assumed it was previous travelors with pets. Twice we had to call maintenance to make repairs in the room; one for a broken toilet seat and one because the sliding door for the bathroom area came off the track. Each night, we noticed that the bar area became a local hang out for area persons to drink shoot pool and get rowdy. Upon leav... Read more

This hotel tries to be hip and modern but it just has the impression of a lame club on the first floor that saw better days and a sterile college dorm experience in the rooms complete with terrible beds. The blinds do nothing to block light from outside so there is almost no point in turning your room light off as it probably less bright then the light from all the businesses etc and I was even in a room facing away from the street toward the motel in the back. The bed is lumpy and terrible - i... Read more

My teen daughters and I checked in around 11 pm after a long travel day. I had a bad feeling as I was checking in. The lobby has a "bar" atmosphere and was very dirty. We were given our key and made our way to the elevators. The elevator floor was filthy. When we reached the floor, there were trash bags full of trash all over the hall way, a gentleman was smoking a cigar in the hallway in front of our room and it smelled. The room we were given had a "do not disturb" sign on the door, I precede... Read more

Stayed on points as a Preferred gold member and had issue with billing and non-attentive front desk staff. the building A/c was poor except room. waited at Wxyz (bar) for 35 mins for appetizer only to have them finally admit to not having any of our order. Was very unimpressed with this compared to other Alofts.

The hotel was laid out nicely, fast wifi, free parking, nice breakfast and comfortable rooms. However, we woke up at 2a freezing (it was 19 degrees outside) to ask for a comforter (our room was missing one) and they told me they were sold out for the night and didn't have anymore. I'm not sure if I'd stay there again but it wasn't a bad property.

Aloft of Charleston is a nice place to stay. Bed was a little hard for me but not soo much I could not sleep. Had an issue with a room and the staff immediately took care of it. Very good shower. Hotel close to outlet mall and other shopping. Very easy interstate access.

Hotel is closer to downtown and site seeing events than it appears. Downtown is only 10-15 minutes away even Folly Beach was a 30-35 minute drive. Plus I got a sweet deal from starwood points 5 nights, timed this trip right. The hotel is located at the foot of a major mall, plenty of franchise places to eat, but we ate primarily downtown, or where ever we saw a good local place. Food here is very good, great city.

Hip and trendy . . . OK so really more like a loft. Everything you need (high speed wifi) and bright colors all the way from the lobby to the gym and the pool. There's a nice lobby bar and an indoor pool with an open air patio between for a breath of fresh air. The snacks are available for a fee but you are also easy walking distance from a Starbucks and as well as restaurants, quick bites and day spas. The airport is close and they dispatch a shuttle on request, more than once if you miss it th... Read more

My wife and I have stayed at the Aloft about 5 times. The hotel is an affordable option when staying in the Charleston area because the downtown area tends to be expensive. The hotel is close to the highway, the Tanger Outlets for shopping and fast casual restaurants. The hotel is the cheaper version of the W Hotel brand. The hotel has an indoor pool, bar (wxyz bar), a small workout area (currently under repair) and an area for grab a snack. The people at the hotel have always been polite. ... Read more

I would love to give this hotel more stars only for their great and friendly staff that work there, but considering what happened and losing a whole night of sleep the next night I cannot. 26 August 2016 My wife and I decide to use my SPG points and stay in town for our 27th anniversary. We wish we picked a different hotel. Don't stay here. The only good thing was the front desk people. The room was small, the carpet is old and the bed was hard. I stayed here after flying into Charleston late. I like Aloft hotels b/c it is clean and very standard. This location did not disappoint. The check in was easy and quick. I received a complementary continental breakfast, which was decent. The location of the hotel was convenient since it was near a mall/outlet. It was easy to find stores to pick up water and other things that I needed. I would consider this location again if I am back in the area.

Stayed here a great deal while relocating to Charleston area for work. Convenient location and comfy rooms. The bar was a little too nice as I spent too much time there after work. Not a huge selection of food, but the burger and tots were my favorite. Also some very good drinks. Some of the rooms could use a little fixing up, but nothing major.

We had to change rooms once because of a jagged piece of metal sticking out of the bathroom door handle. The pool table in the lobby is broken, and the staff doesn't know if/when it will be repaired. And now, we have to turn the tv up bc I believe the room next to us is being used for prostitution. I think this may very well be the worst hotel experience we've had, so hoping to check out asap. I would strongly recommend avoiding this hotel.
