The location of the hotel is very good...ocean views , nice pool...but it's not realy a "boutique hotel" Our room was old and a little dirty . The bathroom sink was old and grimy . The box was very small and there was too much fabric flowers of doubtful taste decorating the room

Visited Myrtle Beach to get some sun, sand and warmth. Location of this hotel was great, very close to all the attractions the area had to offer. The hotel and its amenities were great for the price point. I specifically called ahead and asked for a quiet room away from the noisy parts of the hotel and that request was granted - our stay was comfortable and quiet until our second last day. At around 2pm, some construction work started on the room above us and continued for 2 hours before I c... Read more

My sister and I wanted a relaxing beach vacation. We spent countless hours searching through rentals to find the perfect ocean front room. Then 3 weeks before our trip, the owner called to cancel due to renovations not being completed on time. So we ended up at The Strand. The pictures looked great and the reviews were good so we had high hopes. We arrived at 11pm after driving for 13 hours to find that our deluxe ocean front queen suite was actually more ocean adjacent. Mostly all you saw was a... Read more

The balcony was huge and offered access from living room and bedroom. My husband and I have returned to this location for years due to the staff and the family feeling this smaller complex offers. Its a pleasure to see the same front desk staff year after year. We found the place clean and inviting and like the expanded breakfast and remodeled bar on the main floor. My husband enjoyed the recliner and the ADA higher toilet & grab bars were a plus for his aging knees. The kitchen is tight ... Read more

My girlfriend and I booked an ocean-front room at The Strand in late May 2016. I was a bit skeptical (as I always am) about the hotel and the "ocean-front" view. However, when we got there and I saw the lobby, it had been newly renovated (like they had mentioned on the website), and the receptionist was very friendly and check-in went smoothly. We were impressed with the hotel room itself. Not only did it offer an ocean-front view like we were promised, but the room was very large and looked as... Read more

Not happy. I made a reservation months ago for my husband's birthday & specifically requested to be on a higher floor. We checked in last night and we are on the 2nd floor right above the pool. When I asked about moving to another unit twice, I was basically told its not gonna happen. How ridiculous!! Spent over $700 for 3 nights and have No View! No Privacy! I will not be back & will not recommend this place to others.

Good size room, beautiful view with a nice balcony. Would have been nice to have a refrigerator. Very clean and friendly staff. Walking distance to a lot of restaurants, free parking across the street. No valet parking but they did indicate they would have it soon. Grassy area with lounge chairs near the pool.

This hotel was perfect for us because they allowed us to stay one night whereas most other hotels had a 3 night minimum. This was only one stop of a lengthly road trip where we only had enough time for one night. The lobby and beach area was great! There was a little bar that served drinks that you could bring out by the pool area. The chairs were perfect for laying out and there was a nice umbrella that you could sit under when the sun was too hot. The rooms were a little tired and could us... Read more

So we were expecting a very nice, upscale-hotel that is not what we found. It was simply average upon arrival. There was alot of ware and tare in the suite we had and it had a horrible smell, which only got worse as the days went bye. We were reserved for 5 nites but only stayed 4 because we could not tolerate the odor any longer. We asked housekeeping for bleach to pour in the drain and never got it. It was a disappointment to say the least. There was also a lot of heavy drinkers sitting around... Read more

Rooms are super clean. We were on the 19th floor. If you're looking for classy, it isn't. If you want good service, nice breakfast, great ocean view, walking distance 3-4 blocks to good food...this is the place. Most restaurants are buffets in the area. Ferris wheel is 30 min. walk down the street. Expensive to rent umbrella chair. Hit the dollar store, buy a chair and pass it on when you leave.

The Strand was a great fit for my family. Upon check-in the staff was very knowledgable and efficient, answering my questions before before I even asked. The room was exactly the type I had booked, and the lobby was very well decorated and modern. What a wonderful time we had! The room was clean, beds were super comfortable, and I cannot say enough about the front desk staff... what an asset they are to the company. I especially want to commend Simetrice, William, and Erin. These amazing folks went over and beyond to find a lost beach towel. The lobby and pool areas were constantly attended to keep areas clean and floors kept dry and safe. The breakfast provided was yummy and gave a large selection of foods. I would have given this hotel 5 stars if the parking wasn't so bad. We ended up parking outside because the garage was impossible to get around in. Just returned from our third stay at this resort. We enjoyed this year just as much as the last two. Rooms have been beautifully remodeled. Friendly employees, great breakfast, parking garage, fast elevators, and a perfect view from room type G. We did notice that housekeeping seemed to be lacking this year. Most days they took towels, but didn't leave any and we had to get them from the front desk. Overall, this is a great place for families and is on the nicer end of the strip!

We stayed in an oceanfront deluxe king suite and loved it. Although we were only three adults, the space was large enough to comfortably accommodate a family of five with no problems at all. Well equipped kitchen, clean washer/dryer, and two fantastic balconies with perfect sunrise views over the ocean. Great breakfast (like, really good, actually), clean, friendly staff, and perfect location on the beach. Far enough north that you don't get the south beach crowds.

The only issue is the parking deck is a nightmare. If you drive a larger vehicle, or a lowered vehicle, forget about it. Premises were very clean, staff was nice and helpful and it was very quiet, even though there seemed to be a lot of families. Ample parking across the street. My wife and I stayed here four nights at the end of August. We were on the 11th floor with a King Oceanfront Suite. One thing to note is that "oceanfront" can include what I'd consider 3/4 "oceanside". You have a small deck off the living and bedroom areas but you are not strictly pointing only at the ocean - our room (1160) was actually angled about halfway between an ocean and "buildings on the side of the Strand" view. The room was okay in size and fairly clean (beds very comfy) but the hotel had a general unclean grotty feel to it... Read more

I've stayed at this property three times this year and already looking for dates for October, December and January. This is a great hotel with a friendly staff great coffee available in the lobby and a great little bar. I've stayed in a couple of different rooms and they both were very well designed and laid out with comfortable beds. The pool and the beach are great but the main thing for me is the location.....from there you can get anywhere with ease and in very little time. I love the Strand... Read more

The Strand is an excellent option for travelers looking to be centralized towards the boardwalk. If you are looking for more privacy, heading a little more north on Ocean Blvd., might be a better fit. Overall, it was a great stay. Breakfast was included daily and we had magnificent views of the sunrise/sunset.

This is the second time my family has stayed here. After a horrible experience at a different hotel (The Clarion-an accommodation set up for us by outdoor traveler) we came here again because we know it is clean. We love this place and this visit confirmed it! When I was checking in I mentioned to the check-in receptionist (Marleen) about our horrible horrible experience at the Clarion and everything we had went through with outdoor traveler. What's not to like about this casual quaint hotel? We stayed on the 16th floor. It's in the heart of myrtle beach. It took me about half hour on the beach to walk to the sky wheel. The hotel has an excellent free hot breakfast..waffle maker, real scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, biscuits, grits. Elevator seemed slow, but I think they all are no matter which hotel you stay in. If you don't like to ride/wait for elevator, stay on a lower floor. Rooms were clean and plenty of towels. Bathroom w... Read more

We recently stayed here for 2 nights in a double queen room with a balcony overlooking the pool and ocean. The rooms could use some updating, especially the kitchenettes and bathroom, which are showing signs of age. The balcony was great, though, with sliders off the living room and bedroom. There was a dehumidifier in the bedroom which initially wasn't working until I discovered that the tank was full and needed emptying. It is a must to run it because there is a lot of moisture in the air here... Read more

Overall the hotel was nice and clean with a great location. Breakfast was decent but definitely crowded. I didn't care for the tiny balcony from the queen room as you could see onto others' balconies as well. They weren't really private and the smoke from the neighbors' blew straight towards us every time they went out there. My only real complaint was the honeymoon package. We purchased for our romantic weekend away from the kids. The rose petals are not real flowers, but made of similar materi... Read more

The location of The Strand is great for all of Myrtle Beach's attractions. It is located in the north part of Myrtle Beach (NOT North Myrtle Beach). The parking is shared with the adjacent Patricia Grand hotel and was good. The lobby/bar area was very nice, we did not use the bar or food (except for the free breakfast). They also have a few tablets for internet access and also a machine that dispenses DVDs - which was very good. There is a DVD player in the room. Each afternoon there are cook... Read more

As spring was coming, the warmth of the winds and the sun helped to make this room magical! We had the view of the ocean and dolphins and the sun as it set. Loved the location, morning breakfast, and the cleanliness of the room. We could walked to restaurants, swim in the pool or the ocean. Sitting outside under the cabanas permitted us to read, people watch or catch a nap. Very pretty place..can' t wait to return!!

Our visit was made especially memorable due to some the staff. Marlene at check in so so courteous and helpful. Laura at bar made delicious drinks and was extremely obliging and friendly. Thomas made awesome food and served it with a generous smile. Thanks to the few we have named and others that we did not catch their names. We wii be back.

I was treated quit rudely in my opinion by a "manager" Will, who would not allow me to go any higher up the chain of command (he stated he was as high as there was for me to go). I ended up making a "Terrible" review and staying somewhere else, which was a sister property to the Strand. The room was very clean we had a beautiful view of the ocean and couldn't have ask for a better location the shower could use an updated faucet and stove needs to be updated but really not a big issue if they upgraded these things I'm sure it would drive the price of the room up so to us they're fine the way they are can't beat it for the money

We stayed at the Strand during Thanksgiving break because it was close to our son's college. We got a very reasonable rate even though it was a holiday weekend. The Strand is oceanfront. We had a great view of the ocean from our room. The room was bright, spacious and clean. Nice breakfast bar with some hot breakfast items. We took or coffee outside and sat on pool deck and watched the sunrise over the ocean. This place is definitely a great weekend getaway.

However, I soon realized how incredibly crowded the room was.
