"The area was ok, the rooms large and airy. We liked the screened porch and the washer and dryer, instead of having to take clothes to wash or take home dirty. We had one bedroom that had not been cleaned in a while, spider webs and sand everywhere. The staff were great...we were able to checkin early at 12 and check out later and 12. We had a great time...will be back."

"The room itself was great. I too enjoyed the washer and dryer in the room. I think we should have been notified ,before we arrived, that the office was closed at 5pm and what we should do. Nothing like arriving and not knowing how to get into your room. I called the emergency number listed at the office. I also think we should have been told to take our own trash bags and toilet paper. The resort only supplies it the night you arrive. Thankfully, Walmart was close. We also found a huge bug climbing up our wall the last night we stayed. But over all, I would go again. At least this time, I will be better prepared."

"My family and I stayed at this Resort and the experience was awful. First we arrived at the resort after 5pm. We were not told that the office closed at a particular time, so when we arrived I had to call the office in hopes to reach someone that would tell us how to get in our room. The after-hours personnel told us where to pick the key up and the lock-box code where the key was held. We obtained the key and paperwork and located the room. The first thing we noticed after placing our luggage inside was the lock on the door wasn't turning so you could lock the door properly. We had to play with it to get it in the right position to lock. The next thing is there were several remotes to the TV and the DVD and some were missing backs to them and most of them didn't work. There was mold in some places within the living area. There were bugs in my bed when I woke up the morning that we departed. Not sure what type of bugs they were but I killed them. The pots and pans to cook with were nasty. The air in one of the rooms didn't even seem like it was circulating at all. There was Wi-Fi on one side of the complex but not on the side we stayed in. The only thing that was nice was the staff that assisted with our check-in and check-out."

"It was ok for the price we paid. I enjoyed having a screened in porch and 2 seperate bathrooms. As well as having a washer and dryer in the room verses having to carry cloths to a laundry room. There was also plenty of room for sleeping and everything needed to cook meals in the kitchen area. We only had a couple of negative experiences while there, there were people getting loud and obnoxious at 2am one night but another tenant came out and things quieted down some after that. Also the pool was a lot smaller than the pictures so there were rare opportunities that it wasn't so packed out that we had a chance to join in. When we were finally able to, there was a group of people drinking and cursing. I had brought my nine year old down to swim. We were forced to leave after a short time because they wouldn't calm down for the sake of small ears. I'd recommend this place if you plan on spending some time either shopping or checking out some of the attractions. The beach is a little bit of a drive away and you'll have to pay to park, so be prepared."

"I was very pleased with our stay. Everything I asked for (IE. a condo not on the bottom floor and one overlooking pool was granted. Only downer was I arrived after hours and got the answering service who was very rude on instructing me how to get the keys to the condo ect but otherwise I will be back next year!"

"Everything was excellent. The bed was comfortable and clean. The location was good because it wasn't to far from the attractions and the beach we attend but far enough away where you don't have the tourist attraction or noise. I was worried about the bedding due to the pervious comments but each mattress matched the bed it was on. The staff was pleasant the pool was gated and well taken care of. Would definitely go back again and would recommend it to anyone going to myrtle beach and you can't beat the price either."

"My family and I stayed at this Resort for a weekend getaway. We had a total of three 2 bedroom condos. The condos was very nice and clean, and the pool area was also very nice as well. The only complaint was that one of the condos only accomodated four people instead of six. However since it was only a weekend stay we improvised. We will definatly visit again. I just hope that the condo owners will take in consideration of investing in better beds; instead of pushing two twin beds to make Kings."

"River oak is a very nice place and close to the beach. Our condo was 2 bed/2 bath. Kitchen was not as stocked as we thought it should be....(no can-opener, no storage bowls and some other missing kitchen utensils that are normal everyday used) But we understood that they are individually owed so it wasnt a resort issue. Also, we went with another couple and we only got 1 gate pass. Thought that we could maybe get another one but the only issue one per condo. Other then that it was very enjoyable. Pool is clean and hot tub was as well. The people that live there are SUPER friendly. We met some really great college kids that were super friendly to our young kids. A tip if u are staying here.....buy plenty of toilet paper and paper towels and dishwasher detergent....we didnt get any that came with the room. I would for sure visit this place again =)"

"Overall the resort was very nice. We ended up staying at the WaterWay Village branch of the resort. It was a gated facility with indoor and outdoor pools & tennis courts. The condo was like a nice sized two-bedroom apartment with a nice patio. We have a family of 5 and it was spacious for us all right on a popular waterway where boats and ships passed by throughout the day just miles from the beach and main shopping areas. The only drawback was the master beds are really two adjoining twin matresses that are uncomfortable on the back for some of us adults. Ask for a matress pad if available. Kids slept fine. Overall, it was a nice vacation."

"First of all the king bed IS two twins pushed together. Second if you have trouble climbing steps, there are no elevators so the condos on the 3rd floors will not be ideal for you. Third the daytime staff could be more friendly and less abrasive when they speak to you. The lady that we spoke with after hours was a great help and she assisted us best she could with a room change. Fourth not all of the condos have Wi-Fi so that advertisement is untrue for some condos and when you call the service desk they just tell you they're sorry about that like you just need to get over it. The actual condos are usually very nice but you must keep in mind that these condos are owned by different individuals therefore condos that are side by side may look completely different on the inside and some you may like and others you may not. Our overall stay was a good one and we will return to stay again, but I will be requesting a ground floor condo whenever I return because dragging luggage up many flights of stairs is no fun at all."

"we were told that check in was 3pm. we arrived before 3pm in mrytle beach and i thought possibly we might be able to check in.early. but the condo was not ready so we went down to the boardwalk and then to the grocery store . we returned a little after 3 and was told the condo was not ready. i had driven from upstate ny with 4 children who were hot tired and wanted showers and dinner,. i was told it would be another 2hours before the condo would be ready. i was very upset. the young lady was very rude to me then told me checkins are between 3 and 5. i then told her to give me the linens and i would not mind doing the cleanup myself. they then assured me the cleaning staff would be done shortly. it was almost 6 before we could get into the condo. the dishes were not clean and the rugs had not been vaccumed . the one bathroon had no light bulbs that worked. so obviously they did a half hearted cleaning"

The resort was nice and location as well, the person the checked us in was very pleasant, and helpful. However there were somethings that I was not happy with. I do not it is not told that after 5:00 you have to pick up your key up own your on and find the location on your own. The problems that we had on the inside was:

First of all the master bedroom which was an king size bedroom, it just had (2 TWIN BEDS PUSHED TOGETHER ARE YOU SERIOUS). As nice as these condos are the owners could not afford to put in an king size mattress.

Second problem: The phone did not have an dial tone, and when we called the emergency number to contact someone they did not pick up very (dangerous) we were told to call an certain number and that would identify who we were well no one answered. If this had been an matter of life of death we would have been in serious trouble.

Third in the room with the twin beds, the floor was not all that clean hair pins, were found on the floor and paper , and also there was an (church bulletin from MAY 2011) left in the room if that room had been cleaned I think it would have been found what you think.

4th Iron n but no Ironing board

5th In the Master bedroom there was an big nasty spot on the comforter when you pull the cover back.

And last we were told upon checking out that we had to take our own trash out (WOW) What is the clean up service for.

I shared my compliants with the front desk specialists and she shared how she would look into the situation, and I shared how I would be willing to give it one more chance.

"There were 4 of us golfers that went to Myrtle Beach and stayed at a 3 bedroom condo at River Oaks.The place was nice and clean and we had plenty of room for the 4 of us.It is a good location to get into and not a lot of traffic."
