"The view was good but that is about it. The bathroom and kitchenette were very dirty. Grease and dust on stove, rusty and dents on stove and refrigerator, dirty toilet (nuff said), towel holder fell down 1st night and remained on the floor the rest of our stay (fresh towels were placed on the sink, bed was not made after arrival, iron and ironing board were not put away. rated 3 stars. I've stayed at better 2 star hotels but 3 stars was definitely a stretch for Patricia Grand."

"Even though the concerige failed to greet us personally upon arrival, we still had a pretty good stay. The bed was comfortable, and bathroom was adequate. Little to no drawer space but the microwave and fridge worked great. The tub drain was slow but the room cooled off fast. Other than late night party-ers on their ocean view verandas or barking dogs at too early in the morning, the atmosphere was quiet and friendly. '60's & '70's music played poolside all day while a hot jacuzzi tub bubbled nearby next to the indoor swimming pool. Breakfast buffet was tasty with lots of choices. All in all, best bang for the buck."

"We enjoyed the hotel. It had great views, and was directly on the beach. It was within walking distance of eatery's and things to do. After visiting I completely underestimated the 'family hotel' environment. There were kids everywhere! That being said, it wasn't horrible but considering it was meant to be a relaxing vacation for my boyfriend and I it kind of changed the relaxing part. All in all we enjoyed it and had a great time regardless. I would definitely visit again, next time with my daughter."

"Overall I give the hotel a 4 and this is only because we received the water park passes which made up for the hotels lack of quality. It did not meet up to my expectations the advertised appearance on the internet did it justice once I saw in person I was disappointed. The hotel Lobby itself was appealing but once I hit the elevator, halls and room it was a big disaster. Our room was on the North side which the two elevators never worked even on the South side which there were three elevators it worked a little better. The only positive was the staff was very friendly and serviced well, free parking and the water park passes. Noted I will not recommend or return.

"Our trip was excellent from the valet who greeted us each day to the maids who, despite being very busy, were always friendly. The free tickets to the water park and the golfing were an extra plus. The golf was within a short walk and a charter bus took us to the water park and picked us up. I didn't dine in the restaurant but heard others brag on the food. I have traveled to upscale resorts and I've camped at the beach. This hotel was exactly what I paid for and met my expectations. My only suggestion would be to upgrade the activities staff to people who are more outgoing and organized who encourage or at least invite the kids to take part in the activities. But... I'm a teacher and that's just a pet peeve. "

"the staff and room were awesome! I had an oceanfront room and it had 2 balconies, which was really cool! the beds were a little hard and my bed seemed broken in one spot, but it was doable. I traveled with my husband and our 3 year old son, who turned out to be scared of the beach so we mainly stayed on the boardwalk and in the hotel pool. the pool was really nice and the poolside lunches and bar were super cool too. The only things I did not like was that the hotel was too far from the main shopping strip where the sky wheel was to walk to and the hotel parking deck was all concrete walls and hard to drive around in in a big SUV. there were marks all over the walls where people had scraped their cars. but I would def come back here!"

"We stayed here for the weekend on a special. We got free tickets to Wild Water & Wheels and Miniature Golf(we didn't have time to do Golf). Upon arrival we were promptly waited on and provided with additional information about the property and our reservation. They also provided an activities list and discount resort card for neighboring restaurants, etc. We stayed on the 6th floor with an Ocean view which was absolutely amazing. The room was clean, had a full kitchen, and flat screen TV. The indoor lazy river was great for the kids and two indoor jacuzzi were ideal for watching the kids while enjoying it. In addition to an outdoor pool and outdoor jacuzzi being within 5 feet of the beach, what more could you ask for? Location perhaps? Yes, this resort has that too..it is walking distance to many stores, boutiques, and the main strip. If I had one compliant it would be the parking garage across the street...smelled really bad and slight stench of sewer drainage ..but its not like to have to stay inside the garage. We did have one call to front desk for extra wash clothes on the second day and they were promptly brought up to our room. In closing, from our experience at this property we would recommend it to our friends and will stay again. Special thanks to the Front Desk ladies, they are extremely helpful and very knowledgeable about the property and vicinity...Great asset to the Patricia Grand Resort indeed."

"This place should be closed....Our room was awful. Mold growing,curtains torn and dirty, carpet smelled and filthy, night stand sticky, walls marked up and stained this place was the worse.( I travel for a living and stay in hotels over 200 nights a year.) If I could have gotten my money back I would have changed hotels. The pictures were misleading.
If I ever return to Myrtle Beach I'm taking my chances with walking in and getting a room."

"I read the reviews on here and I feel bad for those people because our tv worked fine, the view was positively amazing. It was nice to have a microwave and fridge in the room. Sure, it was an older hotel and sometimes it smelled kind of musty but that is to be expected since it is in South Carolina and the humidity is off the charts there. Being in SC coupled with it being an outside hotel, I'm sure musty smell is fighting a losing battle. The only thing that I could complain about is that the elevators aren't air conditioned and you always had to wait so, so long for an elevator because there just aren't enough of them for the amount of rooms there are in the hotel."

"Me and my wife wanted to take a vacation getaway for our 3 year anniversery so once i booked i called the hotel if i could please get updated suite with an oceanfront view. She said thats fine. We drove from Michigan 14 hr drive we got there at 10 am. I went in and told them were there early and if possible we can get a room earlier than 4. The first one looks at me and goes no you have to wait till 4. The one next to her says we can get you in by 2. I say thats fine thank you. 2 comes along were tired and my wife is sick i wait till 2:30 to go up there and they go sorry your room is not ready. I go up there at 3 still not ready. I finally go up there at 3:30 and literly got mad asked what the cancellation policy is and they say hold on one sec literly one min later they come back with a room key. Then we get to the room its a old moldy smelling room and the view is of the parking lot and a small part of the beach not the ocean even thou i paid for a oceanfront and requested an updated room. I go to the front desk and tell them all she says is sorry and looks away. I had to spray a whole bottle of air freshener in the room and open all the doors so i can breath. Then they suposidly have a bus that goes to the water park i get there a hour before the bus takes off wait two hrs just to be told oh we did not see you waiting???? never staying here again the bus boys and maintainence staff were the only nice people there."

"The price was good and I would only stay here again if I wanted a really cheap place to sleep. Housekeeping never cleaned our room, they only emptied the trash and gave fresh towels. When we checked in the bed had hair and stains on the sheets, I called to ask them to change the sheets and explained why, I was told my the manager that they do not provide service on the 1st day. I asked if they would at least bring me clean sheets, i can change them myself. She sent the housekeeping manager to the room to make sure there was really hair on the sheet before sending new sheets. The housekeeper that brought the sheets in was really nice and offered to change the bed instead of making us do it ourselves. The sink was stopped up before we even used it so we couldnt was the dishes, the plumber plunged it but that did not work. the patio door was broken, the guy fixed it after we called the front desk 3 times. the activities that they advertise for kids were horrible. The girl talked and texted on her cell phone when she was supposed to be building sand castles with the children. Our room was clean when we arrived but the party traveling with us had to change rooms 3 times just to get a room that they could sleep in. The TV was broken, no remote and we had to stick a pen in the hole to turn the TV on. They overcharge you to rent beach chairs and umbrella that are cheap and they did not have enough anchors for each umbrella so the umbrella kept flying away and would not stay in the ground. Free parking is across the street but the free spaces are small so if you drive an SUV they you will have to pay for valet to get a spot big enough for your SUV to fit into."

"nice place. booked a small room but upgraded to a suite. they guy told me that the 16th floor was a higher grade room, but i said, no, 2nd floor is fine. it wasn't. outside the door is a massive water monstrosity which is loud and adds moisture to the area... hence my next point. the room wasn't the best, but it was ok. i could deal with it. while watching tv, i got up to get a drink and spotted a cockroach in the kitchen. i tried to kill it but missed it. great, no i have to think about it all night. the baby was already in bed so i didn't want to switch rooms. about an hour later walking out of the bathroom, i see another cockroach coming out from under the couch. i got that one, but how many more were there? i went to get ready for bed and was brushing my teeth and the sink drained so slowly, it almost filled up. the next morning i took a shower which was fine, but while drying off, i notice the toilet isn't really planted to the ground. i get out and sure enough, it moves around. ok, time for a new room. i shave and basically overflow the sink since it won't drain. i go to the front desk and tell them i want another room and list the problems. i didn't get to the cockroach issue and already had a new room. second room was nice, but needed some work. however, it was 90% better than the first, and no cockroaches. overall it was ok, but i'd probably find another hotel next time. oh,and the lazy river is about a 50 foot circle so don't plan on hanging around in it too long. "

"We love this hotel. We stayed there the first year it opened and have being staying there since. I do not like to stay in a 'Pet' Friendly hotel. I am a smoker and don't understand what the difference is between a pet smell and a smoker's smell. I don'y mind not smoking in the room because I don't smoke in my house at home. But can't even smoke on the deck. That is so far fetched. When I couldn't sleep I would have to get dressed and go downstairs almost in the street to have a cigarrette. "

"Front desk staff are not courteous. And, they need help. Every time a customer walks up, a phone rings and they ignore the customer. They need a separate phone person. My room was not ready at 4pm. It was ready at 4:35pm. My room key did not work - twice I had to get it looked at. Finally, they send the maintenance guy to give new room keys. Not cool at all. There were 5 other families waiting for their rooms as well. Some of them came 3 hours early. Not enough house-keeping staff. The only courteous folks are the bellboys and the house-keeping staffs. This place really needs a face lift and renovation quick. The room had an old smell odor. The glass sliding door to the patio was so hard to slide. Once I was able to slide it, it got off track. The same goes for the closet doors. The carpet, furniture, mattress and all kitchen appliances are beat up, 80's style. Our blanket was getting thin from being over used. And so were the bath towels - very thin. The pool was dirty. The lazy river was dirty. We didn't attempt to try. We stayed out most of the time at the beach and only sleep in the room. So, this was okay. They allowed pets. This was our number one reason to come. I would not return until it's completely renovated."

"Overall we had a great time on our trip but a few things- when we checked in we were originally given a poor room, VERY outdated and terrible view. I asked to have the room changed and the attendant at the desk was extremely helpful. The manager on duty was nice, but seemed put out that we were changing rooms. The indoor pool and lazy river are wonderful but the outdoor pool is EXTREMELY cold. The temperature was in the mid 70's - 85 but couldn't swim outside which was disappointing. The elevators in the hotel and garage smell very bad, not sure of the reason. It was a nice hotel and the service was great but probably wouldn't stay early spring because of the outside pool, during the summer months it would be fine. A great value for the price!"

"Only stayed one night for convenience. Only paid $42 for the room - so the deal could not be beat - but the bed was misshapen (one sunken impression for each of us, my wife and me). Also heard noise all night long - sound like knocking on walls - two taps every 10 minutes or so. Room was quite small, not sure what FULL price is during high season - but this hotel was only worth the small money we spent on it for our one nite stay. Hotel staff was friendly, and room was clean."

"We learned that the lower rooms that didn't allow dogs had been refurbished, so maybe you could stay in one of these without taking fleas home. We were not that fortunate. Our room had black filth over mauve floor and furniture. We put sheets over everything. We walked for blocks on each side but could not find a hotel that took pets. I was very ill, spending 2 of the 3 days we were there in the hospital. By the time we returned home our pets were infested with fleas even though we treated them with Frontline just before we left. We spent several hundred dollars battling this issue, with not the slightest show of concern by the management. That room was seriously despicable. Hopefully this review might spare an unsuspecting traveler, because you will get no warning when you book with pets."

"I DID NOT ET THE ROOMS THAT I BOOKED ON LINE, I WAS TOLD BY THE STAFF THAT IT WAS NOTHING THAT THEY COULD DO BECAUSE IT WAS BOOK ITS FAULT, I WAS NEVER TOLD ABOUT OR OFFERED A UPGRADE TO THE ROOMS I WANTED,
I AM NOT SURE WILL I STAY OR EVEN TELL ANY OF MY FAMILY OR FRIENDS ABOUT THIS HOTEL."

"Our check in process was fine but the real problem was the smell in our room. We bought incense and air fresheners. We had an old fashioned television with a broken power button and a hole cut out so we would have to stick our finger into the hole to trigger the power button within. When we called to the front desk for extra towels and etc. they took extremely long delaying us from our plans to leave the hotel. The cabinets were in bad condition, the appliances were rusty, and the utensils and drinking glasses had hard water stains on them. Overall I had a fun trip I just wish the hotel was a little bit more desirable."

"When checking into this hotel, we were all registered ahead of time. We thought we had it all covered for an ocean front room. We got a room on 4th floor w/king bed no efficiency kitchen,so we asked for one with a kitchen as we were there for a whole week w/our dogs.We got a room on18th floor, my husband is afraid of heights.Room lacked a lamp by the beds, no chair in corner,no luggage rack,no toaster, a bad TV (4th flr had a nice flat screen) not a very good view of the ocean and the door wouldn't lock. Several times we had to call maintenance guy. When checking in ask for a renovated room with a kitchnette on a lower floor that is ocean front (not ocean view) if you have a dog. We did ask to have room cleaned every couple days but sheets weren't changed all week. The weather was very nice, we made best of it. The bell boys were very helpful w/luggage, lobby and pool,jucuzzi were nice.Had to park across street and we were warned once that we didn't have our parking permit facing the right way. We may or may not return here."

"The hotel was great and all the staff was friendly. We loved the pools. So glad they had indoor pools and hot tub. The wifi was great, we had no problems connecting. The breakfast buffet was nice but a little overpriced. We would deffinately stay again."

"We really enjoyed our stay @ the Patricia Grand Resort. I mean the room was so cleaned and nice. It was exactly what we saw in the pictures. We had one incident. The toilet got stopped up one day, but we called downstairs and someone came right up to fix it. The staff was so nice and pleasent. Me and my husband really had a good and enjoyable time while we was there. Keep up the good work.

"I was pleased with staff, very nice but--- it is impossible to sleep there, the wind howling thru the bldg at night sounded like a hurricane. It is unnerving, room was small and dated but my biggest problem was the uniforms of there wait staff in the restaurant. Not Clean.

"My stay was great. I was a little worriesome when I walked in and realized they were not kidding when they said pet friendly. I have had a bad experience in the past with staying at a hotel with pet friendly status that was noticeable and disgusting. However, the only way I knew there were pets staying at Patricia Grand was by seeing them. There were no messes, barking or smells that I had encountered in my 5 day stay.
Dinner was awesome. I felt like I was on top chef. For $25 bucks I was amazed with the presentation and quality of the meal.
The staff was super friendly and always appeared to be taking care of the grounds and their guest.
I went to Myrtle Beach to check out the surrounding area for a possible move there. I was pleasantly surprised with the kindness of people in the servicing industry. I did not encounter one person having a bad day and I come from a tourist area and know that is a rarity.
I did go through Book It for a package deal and I am glad that they directed me towards Patricia Grand, I was not impressed with the airline nor the rental but the stay and accomodations were a pleasure and it made up for it. It was the only thing without some forced additonal cost unless I chose it to be.
I would definitely recommed the Patricia Grand for anyone that is reviewing a stay at Myrtle Beach. "

"We had the best time!! The room was great, the veiw was spectacular!! The hotel was in a perfect location, we were within walking distance of everything that we wanted to see and do. The staff was very friendly...we look forward to our next trip. We'll be back at the Patricia Grand!"

"We were confident because of the great reviews that this was a good choice for our anniversary vacation. But, it was definitely not the best experience for us in Myrtle Beach. Yes, they're remodeling and the lobby is impressive. Our king ocean-view room was nice - it was clean, and the bed was comfortable. BUT, there was a strong cigarette smoke smell with a chemical spray on top; I could barely breathe the first couple days. Add to that the mold on the ceiling over the bed. They have a 100% non-smoking policy - but people will smoke; so I would think they should set aside non-smoking rooms for them. We were disappointed that the lazy river and hot tub were inside - where it was hot and unbreatheable because of the strong chlorine smell. Outside lazy river and hot tub would be nice for the summer. Parking across the street made things very difficult. Yes, it's a pet friendly resort - but if you're not a dog person, be prepared for the barking at all hours, dogs riding with you in the elevator, tied next to you on the beach, and doing their business in the grassy area below your room. Oh, and the WiFi was so poor it wouldn't connect; I had to connect to the Caribbean Resort's WiFi from half a block away! Actually, I might check the Caribbean out next time - and they have an outside lazy river. "

"This was our first visit to Myrtle Beach and the Patricia Grand Resort. I was very happy with everything the hotel had to offer. We brought our beagle and thought it was great to see all the other families with their pets too. All the staff from the front desk clerks to the pool guy and the maids where nice and friendly. My kids loved the pools and we all had a fantastic time on the beach. We'll gladly be back for another stay next year, hopefully a longer one too. The price I thought was right on. The only thing I would like to see different is more shampoo and conditioner in the bathrooms. Other than that, our rooms were great, on the 9th floor and great views of the ocean and beach !!!!"
