"The condo was not ready when we arrived, and the staff said that they had no idea when it would be available. According to the reservations, the condo should have been available at 4:00. By the way, it was around 5:00. One of the staff said that it was an estimate. It could take as long as 6:00. However, we were most defiinately expected to check out by 10:00."

"The couch was stink and the sheets needed washing...the one thing that took the cake was there was a big spider in the shower at the bottom of the shower curtain lining and there was on in the kitchen. The neighborhood was quiet and seemed nice though I just wish the condo was much more cleaner."

"Greetings We always to go Myrtle beach in Sept. The children are in school and the beaches aren't as crowded. We usually stay in an ocean front, but this time decided to stay closer to the attractions. We arrived late on a Sunday. We were suppose to have a one bed with view of the golf course. To our surprise, werngot a two bedroom with a view of the lake. It was wonderful. I had my breakfast on the balcony every morning. We didn't have any maid service, but had a wash/dry. in the unit and washed our linens. It was quiet and the grounds are very well kept. Very nice unit. Only complaint is that the kitchen floor needed cleaned and there was only an OLD, broken sponge mop. When the maintenance replaced it with a new one....they LEFT the old one in the kitchen, which I thought was laziness, not to take it away with them. "

"Honestly, my first thought was, 'what a dump!' Our three bedroom condo was a huge disappointment. There were beer bottle caps everywhere. The carpets were severly stained and dirty. The couch had boards placed under the cushions to provide support. The king sized bed was two twin beds that had been placed side by side to create the look of a king sized bed once covered with linens. There were not enough towels nor wash clothes to accomodate all five of us. The worst part was during dinner our first night we discovered we were not the only 'guests' as we watched with disgust two roaches crawl along the wall behind us.nThe million dollar pool and fitness facility was the next big let down. The fitness center did have a more than a few newer pieces of equipmen; however the were cramped in a rather small building. The lazy river was very tiny, maybe 150 feet long, with only 7 intertubes provided. The water temperature of the indoor pool was too cold for even the bravest and toughest of guests. The hot tub was covered in filthy foam. Almost forgot to mention that there were no towels provided for the guests in the pool area.nPrior to our arrival, I called the front desk to see if there were any items that we might need to make our stay more comfortable, such as dish soap, toilet paper, etc. I was told that everything was provided. A one use starter pack for the dishwasher was what we were provided as well as one roll of toilet paper for each bathroom. We ended up having to go get supplies to make iit through the weekend.nAll in all it was not worth the money spent."

"Our Condo was nice overall... we had a great trip.. close to everything and nice pool to relax. Our condo could have used a better cleaning and some paint & new or clean carpet.. had spots all in it.. scratches on the walls and furniture and windows could also be cleaner ! But it was a nice place and we had a good time. Remotes didn't work too well, they may have needed batteries .. but DVD player also didn't work, but that is just minor things.. we enjoyed our trip and would recommend it for a nice vacation."

"My over all experience with the Villa was Good, location close to shops. If I had a couple of suggestions. I would like if they could have given a parking voucher to park at the beach if we what to see the boardwalk. I was a lil disappoint in a couple of things. My king size bed was 2 twin beds pushed together. the toilet wasnt that clean. no extra trash bags. the balcony would have been really nice, if I has some kinda shade. The metal chairs were to hot to sit on the balacany. maybe some wicker furniture and a sun shade. But it was nice and quite which is what i was looking for to. I would go again!!!!!!"

"I booked this location solely based on price and the 8.0 ratings. To say that I was disappointed would be an understatement. The hotel was not clean when I arrived and due to the other 30 guest cramped into the lobby for check-in I decided to clean it myself. While doing so I discovered that the towels had hair on them and there were no wash cloths in either of the bathrooms. When I called to request I was told I could drive back over to check-in and pick them up. I should have known then there would be "no customer service.... I later discovered that it was a waist of my time to request at booking and again a week prior with the front desk my request for a "king... bed. Turns out they take two twins and push them together, put a king sheet set on top. When I complained and question the previous transactions I was told that it was just a request and they were all booked up. They did send someone to the room who informed me that because there was no headboard they could not secure the two twins and keep them from sliding apart. In addition to these problems, when I requested laundry services I was told there would be a $39.00 charge. Needless to say I drove back to my room with sheet and towel sets for my room. Yes the price was good but with all the work I did to make my accommodations tolerable I should receive a check from them."

"I thought it was a great place especially the price. The condo could use a deep cleaning. The carpet was horrible ( soiled in certain spots) the chairs around the kitchen table were in great need of a cleaning.. I took pictures..... The disturbing part was when I mentioned it to the front desk person she stated that she would note it in my reservation so I would not be charged to have the carpet cleaned, I had a 3rd floor unit two of the three days that I was there the elevator was not working not good....... By the was house keeping never came......"

"This was my first visit to Myrtlewood Villas. A friend of mine had been in 2010 and spoke very highly of it. I thought it was a very clean property with a nice layout. We got a 2 BR villa which was clean and in close proximity to the pool area. The only recommendation I have is that that railing on our patio was not very secure in terms of stability. I am going to bring this to the attention of the property and hopefully they or the villa owner will address it. But overall, we were very pleased with the facilities and would consider a return visit."

"My boyfriend and I had stayed for 2 days. The price was great with the room we got. It was a cute getaway place although we only used the place at night. Great location from the beach; not a bad drive. There are lots of things to do all around the area. Staff was friendly. The balcony we had overlooked their golf course. Beautiful view. The only CON I noticed (when I investigated CLOSELY) was dust on the furniture. Makes me think they only spot clean:/. Otherwise I would definitely go back. Thank goodness Im not allergic to dust!"

Ended up we didn't get the upgrade that was promised to us and there was nothing the hotel could do about it cause they were booked up and had no available rooms. "Our experience at Myrtle Wood Villas was great. I would say it is about a 3-4 star place. We had a one bedrom condo for my husband and myself. But if we had 1-2 children the condo we had would still have been perfect since there is a pull out couch. There was a full dining, living, and kitchen area, 1.5 baths, and a washer and dryer. The place was fully equipped with all kitchen materials as well as towels for the bathrooms. I did bring my own towels and sheets but there were plenty of extra blankets nad pillows in the bedroom closet. The condo was pretty clean but the floor should have been swept better and the rug vacuumed but other than that we had an amazing stay. The staff was friendly for what we did see of them and the place was very quiet. I slept like a baby! IT was an awesome deal for the money! I highly recommend this place if you are looking for a cheap but nice romantic getaway We were so close to the beach. We drove3 every day and there was plenty of public access parking.

"My family and I stayed here recently, negligent service! Arrived at 3pm on a Monday, no rooms available and a line out the door to check in. Drove 10 hours with two toddlers and was told check in was at 4 to come back. Came back at 4:20, room still not ready. After pleading, finally got a room with no phone or wifi! Was told it wasn't part of that unit. People actually live here also, so night parking wasn't always convenient. Room was clean, but small pools, an outdated gym with out of order equipment, and additional charges for housekeeping really soured the mood! No refills on toiletries or garbage bags, etc, demanded a trip to the local Walmart. Oh and let's not forget to mention the 8am wake up call of someone banging on our room door...pest control, wanted to do the monthly spraying of our unit?!?! Did I mention, I ws traveling with two toddlers?!!? Yeah...won't be staying here again! The Dunes would've been nicer!"

"The location was very easy to find. The check in was quick and the room was available. We walked into a spacious condo and was pleased at site. The beds where un comfortable. The furniture in the living room area was more than ready to be replaced. The so many available pools where smaller than expected. Seemed like one family at a time in order to enjoy. Make sure you are aware, no room service what so ever. If you need it ,you have to get in your car and go to the front desk to get it. That includes anything they failed to do or give before arrival. For the price, no I do not recommend. The drive to the beach was not an issue at all. Our trip in all was not spoiled. But I will not be returning."

"Myrtlewood was a very great pick for my family during our stay, it is not right on the ocean which was great, we were away from all the congestion and noise of the main strip. We were only a few minutes from the beach and it was a striaght shot to the public parking area, If you do not wish to drive to the beach there were shuttles from the condo to the beach. The pools were great and were never very crowded and there are even restrooms located at the pool which was great. The condos are well maintained and you have everything that you need.Attractions are close and so are many restraunts and shopping. We spent time at Broadway at the beach which was just a few minutes away and also at Barefoot Landing which was only 10-15 minutes away. The staff was very helpful and friendly, I had called the front desk to see if there was a place close to vacum my car out after getting all the sand from the beach in it and she gave us directions to one that was free.
I am considering booking again next year, this stay was the most relaxing that I have had for a long time.
Oh and the beds were very comfy...... :)"

"I was very disappointed. This was someone's condo they rent it out, not at all what I was expecting. The carpet was dirty. The kitchen drawers and utenils were not clean. They put two twins beds together and put a king size fitted sheet and comforter on them to make it look like it was a king sized bed. I will not be staying here again and would not recommend this place."

"This was the worst experience my family and I ever had. We arrived at 1am so the Villa info & keys were left in the night arrival box. When we entered the condo it was dirty, previous guess belongings were on the floor and on the sofa. The bedroom sheets were dingie and the comforters had stains on them. The bathroom was dirty, the floor looked as if it had not been sweeped or moped. The shower in both rooms were dirty, we had to shower with flip flops. Everyone was scared to lay on the beds, so we all bunched up on the sofa, loveseat, and recliner. The next day I went to express my concerns and was told they would send housekeeping in to clean because they didn't have any other condo's available. When we returned 9 hrs later it still was dirty, knowone came to clean up. Of course the management office was closed & we spent another night in that dirty place. The next morning upon checking out the manager would not come from the back office to speak with me about the stay. The cashier handed me a business card & told me to try & reach the office manager by phone at a later date. This place has terrible customer service!"

"The condo was outdated and could use new furniture and sprucing up. The bed was two twin mattresses put together to resemble a queen, but was very comfortable. I did put blankets over the couch as it looked like it needed a good cleaning. The kitchen was decent, but didn't have dish soap, only dishwasher soap, didn't have a toaster and the pan we used to cook eggs in was terrible. No finish left on it that the eggs stuck. We used the work our facility once, could not get the treadmills to work. We didn't swim, but looked in the inside pool/hot tub and it needed a good cleaning. Having said that, we still were pleased with our experience at myrtle wood villas. The front office staff was very friendly."

"When we first entered our 3 bedroom villa, it smelled like dead fish. I immediately called the front desk, and though they seemed put out that I was calling, they did come and put some air freshener in the place. (We left the doors open). The kitchen, was a disgrace. Mismatched everything, and hardly any accessories. How can you claim to have a 'full' kitchen when there is ONE pot to cook with? The dishes, utensils, etc. looked like they had been purchased from a thrift store. No pots, pan, baking sheets, mixing bowls, nothing to allow a person to cook. The villa itself needed a serious cleaning. Fresh paint, cleaner carpet, and some nice looking linens would have really made the place look better. The master bedroom had a 'king size' bed that was nothing more than 2 twin beds that were pushed together. And the best part... they weren't even the same height! Oh and loved the horse blanket like comforter we had on that bed. Very spacious villa, and the outside grounds were immaculate. It is a shame that the inside was not even close to looking as nice as the outside. This is a place that at one time may have been a great place to stay, but the owners need to take better pride in their properties."

"The Villa's over all were ok. Decent location but not really near the beach. The one we stayed in was very outdated. The king size beds were twin mattresses pushed together. the mattresses themselves were different heights and very uncomfortable. We did notice that many of the other ones were more updated with modern TV's and normal beds. so perhaps we received one of the few outdated ones."

"Had a great time. Close to everything. Easy access. Out of the way of a lot of traffic. Place was very clean and had everything. Very quiet did not even hear TV in the other room playing or anyone talking and etc. outside from the front bedroom. Just a very pleasant stay. Thank you to the owners. The reception center was also great they gave great directions, we asked for extra towels and they gave them to us on the spot. Hope to come back soon and stay longer."

"I booked this trip for my fiances birthday gift. Disappointment is a understatement. I arrived on time for check in, the front desk, which had 20 people in a room the size of a walk-in closet, told me that the room was not ready and would call me when it was. A hour and a half later I get a call saying that my room is finally ready. Upon arriving in the room, I notice a very foul odor. The room smelled horrible, was not cleaned, trash in trash can, dirt and trash on floors, linens were thrown, not folded in closet, and lastly there was hair and dirt in the shower. If that didnt upset me enough, the shower head had fallen off and there was a enormous amount of sand on our balcony. I called front desk to get a room change, they accomadated my request. Our second room, which was a hassle to get to (had to unpack and pack everything back up to get there) was better cleaned. No odor and in fact enjoyable. However, after wasting all of our first day on vacation, we decided to go to the pool. The pool had a security guard. Yes, NOT a lifeguard, but a SECURITY guard, and would not allow us to use the pool. The security guard claimed that we needed bands to use the pool. So, after going back up to front desk, waiting in line for 30 minutes to get a pool wristband, and going back, the guard then gave us more trouble. And to top that all off, we were the ONLY people trying to use the pool. Nobody was in or around the pool area and the security guard, after watching us unload our vehicle for the second time into our new room, still did not allow us to use the pool. I will NEVER stay in this 'resort' again, couldnt even pay me to stay there."

"We figured that in staying at a golf course we would have had at least nicer beds then just staying a hotel. Our 'King' bed was two twin beds put together and the mattresses were awful. We ended up flipping them and that helped some. The garbage disposal in the sink did not work. We were not informed that we would have had to book a reservation with wireless internet to actually use the internet. I was actually told when I went to get the password that ' I don't see it with your reservation.' The office staff was very nice. However when I asked about a cell phone charger we might have left, I was sent back to the condo to see if it had been cleaned first instead of them just asking housekeeping if they had found it. (Which they had)"

"I've stayed at this hotel in the past and had a great experience with the room I received but this trip was horrible. Housekeeping did a lousy job cleaning our room. We had a toilet with black crud under the rim, our shower curtain had black and pink mold and mildew all over the curtain. There was hair everywhere. The dishes in the cabinets were still dirty. During our last stay we were not asked to perform housekeeping duties during the last day of our visit. That's the great part of staying in a hotel. During this stay we were asked to strip the sheets off the beds (never heard of this before at any hotel), we had to gather all trash from all cans and stage in a central location, load the dishwasher and gather all towels and stage in a central location. Isn't this what housekeeping does? I normally leave my hotel rooms in decent shape as far as not leaving trash all over or tidying up a bit but removing sheets from the bed and empting trash cans is a bit much. It didn't feel like a vacation. We had wifi inernet access but no one could seem to find the password so we did not have wifi access during our stay. To get clean towels you must get your old towels, drive down to the main office, turn them in and they will give you new ones. What happened to calling and asking for new towels and someone bring them to you. No towels at the pool either. You had to use your room towel to dry off, then take it to the front desk to get a new towel to take your shower; very inconvenient. I won't stay here again. Too many rule changes since my last visit."

"I really enjoyed the stay! I was really not expecting anything as grand as this villa.When I got online I thought it would be one of those old stuffy motels with mold growing everywhere. It had everything for my home away from home experience. I have one complaint that willl help though; The cleaning service really needs to clean those sliders in the patio door and vacuum under the sleeper sofas. The commodes we handled and cleaned ourselves.The shower had griime in it.What we did was spray plain Lysol in there and took a towel and wiped. The carpeting had bad stains all over it,they can just use hand sanitizer to get those out of the carpeting."

"We enjoyed our Thanksgiving day at this property. There was enough room for everyone to spread out. We did end a birthday celebration early due to a sign outside on a column that stated, noise should cease at 10pm because private owners stay there also. If you have alot of noisy vistors,beware. It is true about 2 beds placed together to make one queen. They never stayed together - not sexy at all. Otherwise, the place is convenient to shops and an easy to find. I thought it was near the water but I saw a lake that was not near to my place. Staff member closed 10mins early and I knocked on the door because I saw her closing down but she refused to open the door. I only had a question concerning non working wi-fi. A little show of courtesy goes a long way."

"We really enjoyed the area and the suite. We didn't like the way the bed was set up because it was like two beds pushed together to form a king size bed but you could feel that separation ion the middle.
The mattress could have been chnaged to a much thicker one. The one we slept on was a bit worn thin.

"I thoroughly enjoyed myself, however my condo was not up to par. When I arrived, my villa/conda had to be changed out due to cleanliness and then I still was not 100% satisfied. There were also an infestation of insects of some king. I am not a winer, but I have stayed at other resorts and experienced nothing of this sort before. I will not be staying at this resort."

"My visit to Myrtle Beach was great. My welcome to Myrtlewood Villas not so great. I felt like the man at the desk put more expression in to the $100 dollar damage fee. Than he did to welcome me. Did not go to the pools or to the recreation building. I did not understand why there was not WiFi in the room. I was told that the recreation building was where I could get on the net. Other than that it was OK."

"Convenient, quiet and most importantly CLEAN. There's nothing worse than getting somewhere and finding out it's a dump. Not the case here. We didn't play golf on site or use the new pool and gym facilities but both appeared to be nice and well maintained. The only employees we encountered were at the check in desk and they were both very nice. Only two negatives and they're small. First, no business center to print our boarding passes. We had to go to the Fed Ex store up the street and pay for the computer access and prints. It wasn't the $5 it was the inconvenience that bothered me. Second, they wanted me to bring my own trash out! This is a residential complex with dumpsters not a building with a trash chute. I opted not to do it because we left at 6am on the day of our check out because we had a 7am tee time @ TPC and I wasn't about to start digging around a dumpster in the dark to save the housekeeping staff from having to do it later in the broad daylight. Short of those two things our stay was perfect and I'll start with them next time I'm looking for a place to stay in Myrtle Beach."
