I checked out of Long Bay Resort today 25 May 2016 after a great (too short) 2 night stay. This was my first trip to Myrtle Beach so I located this hotel on line. First, the location is wonderful, right on the beach but on the quiet residential side of Ocean Blvd. Second, the outdoor pool/activity area is wonderful with a poolside bar and lots of seating. You can walk right out to the beach. Lots of families with children having fun! There is a second floor cafe with the best burgers, hotdogs an... Read more

I have stayed at Long Bay on previous occasions and found it to meet the needs of my family. This condo had dirty, dated and worn furniture in the living area which was small and the balconey had torn carpeting. For the price I believe that there are resorts worth the $$ spent over $2400 for a week.

Our 3 bedroom condo was nice except for the appliances which are worn out and needs to be replaced. The stove is not completely functional, bottom drawer would not open, broken off parts of dishwasher laying in the bottom of the dishwasher, refrigerator light burned out. Also, there is no internet access in two of the bedrooms and the elevators very hot and uncomfortable.

Our stay was very good but the room was just OK at best. It was not very clean and needs to be updated. I was expecting more for the price. The resort itself is still nice though. The gift shop is overpriced. I bought a pair of sunglasses for $10 dollars on the way to the beach and they broke before I got there. I went back to exchange them and the second pair broke as well.

The stay was nice. I rented 2-three bedroom units for 3 nights. On day two, I attempted to extend the room stays by one more night. The lady at the front desk indicated they did not have any availability. I understood as this was a last minute decision. This hotel has a decent location. There is a lot here for families. Multiple pools/spas, lazy river, ping pong, shuffleboard, and a 9 hole mini golf course on one of the roof of one of the buildings that overlooks the ocean! It was busy, but we had a lot of fun here. Beyond that, the room's cleanliness was below expectations and I would say it was on par with a 2 star hotel. Service was adequate. My review would be higher if the cleanliness was improved.

The pools and proximity to the beach were nice. Beware that ocean "view" means the side of the hotel, not the rooms facing the sand. Our room faced a parking lot - very disappointing. Management and staff could be a little friendlier / more responsive - maintenance never showed up to repair our clogged tub. Rooms were nice - liked having a microwave, fridge, and mini-sink. Great pools for kids, especially the little ones. Breakfast at Martin's was pretty good.

Long Bay is on the beach at 72nd st. nice location. It has three pools and a lazy river. Two kiddy pools. This is the good I can find. The bad is they have no idea what proper housekeeping is. We were lucky to get fresh towels most days. The room was not vacuumed until I pitched a fit with the maid on the fourth day of our stay. Very family oriented and the prices were the best. Close to the action and great shopping near by. We were able to see the ocean from our balcony which was private and cozy. Stayed here 2 nights while visiting for work, couldn't beat the $50 per night. This hotel is in North Myrtle Beach but has a couple off dining options near if you want to walk or cab it. I will say the food in the hotel is really good, I ate at the bar and had great service. John and a new duty Thomas made the bar enjoyable. Breakfast buffet is $8.95. There is a Full Starbucks in the resort as well. I was a little disappointed that my room smelled like a chain smoker lived there, I found out lat... Read more

Well our group went back in November, 2016, since LB Resort made some upgrades in 2015; however, what they didn't tell us when we booked was all the indoor pools and tubs were closed due to the Hurricane. No, they can't control mother nature, but letting us know would have been nice because we definitely would have booked elsewhere. I made the terrible mistake by booking through Expedia which did not explain or report that Hurricane Matthew had destroyed the whole reason to book this hotel this time of year. The inside pools and lazy river were shut down for repairs and I got no warning. The clerks stated that if booked through Long Bay I would have been told I don't really believed it. I have stayed at this hotel before in the past several times and it need some over hauling especially in the rooms. The only thing the h... Read more

We made reservations by calling toe resort direct. When we arrived they told us the inside pools were closed because of damage from the hurricane. Surprisingly the outside pool wasn't damaged. After casually talking to some people the storm surge never even came across the dune and did not damage any pool. It was just an excuse to do some repairs. The front desk said "If you had called us to make the reservation we would have told you that the pools were closed". Our reply was we did call you di... Read more

Drug raid in room next door. Police activity all night outside bedroom window. No sleep all night, had to drive 500 miles next morning. Hotel attitude was this was nothing out of the ordinary. So if you like this sort of stuff ask them to give you a room close to the drug dealers room.
