"The hotel looked just like the photos, except the gym. Check-in, nor check-out was not pleasant. The housekeepers that came to the door were really nice. The front desk staff, housekeeping staff that answered the phone, and management were not. I say affordable option, but we checked around while we were there and most of the hotels in that area offer the same activities for the same price. I wish we could have said something nicer, but they gave us no choice."

"The hotel was clean, staff was friendly but they didn't know much about the area. The shower was a joke..you barely got any water coming out of them. I was very disappointed overall I thought the hotel was located more near all the attraction center, you had to walk probably 3 miles to get to the broadwalk. I think the only reason we decided to book this hotel was because of the free shuttle back and forth from the airport."

"I would recomment Landmark hotel. During our stay the staff was very friendly and courteous. It would have been nice to have entertainment while staying in the hotel say a DJ or live music....that was a bummer especially because we had terrible weather during our entire stay.
The hotel does need to repair small things ..i.e. the corner of parts of the hotel; where it looks like water damage. The doors peeling or rusted out. The linens could have been of better quality...and hallways lit better at night."

"Everything was great except the fridge didn't work... told the cleaning lady she called and was replaced with a new one.... it got cold then it didn't work anymore... don't know what was up with that but we only stayed 2 nights but other than that it was great I would stay there again but I would check the fridge 1st thing!!"

"Beds were very lumpy and did not allow for a good nights sleep. "I did not know that the rooms were privately owned until I got there. That being said I was disappointed to find out that some rooms were updated and in much better condition than the one we got. Ours was very dated and in poor condition. The ceiling was peeling and flaking all over the floor, walls were dirty, box spring covers were stained, light bulbs were burnt out, and there were hardly any utensils or cookware. Other than that, the view was great, staff was courteous and the pools were nice. I wouldn't discourage anyone from staying but, I would definitely recommend that you check the room conditions first."

"My husband and I was looking forwarding into spending our anniversary in myrtle beach. Check in went very well. The young man at the front desk was very friendly. As my husband and I walk into our room I 1st notice our bed was only a full size bed. I immediately call the front desk and request a change of room but that didn't happen..The bath room was so small not even an air vent was available . In order to use the toilet you had to squeeze be hide the door. The shower head was the worst. The water presser coming from it was so low..The room had an mildew smell. The guest above us was so noisy as though they were moving furniture every night. overall our stay at landmark was not a good one at all.."

"My family and I loved this resort. The resort had eveything and more that we needed. We needed a larger TV and they brought us a Brand New Flat Screen to our room. Hair Dryer died and we got another immediately. Lamp bulb needed to be replaced and got that immediately. Lots of pools, hot tubs,, staff very friendly. Nice to have a garage area that you don't have to go outside to get in your car. Beds & pillows were great. Kitchinette great. We loved it and we will return. Helpful staff. Very nice place to go, 2 restaurants inside plus food by the pool, activities for children, laundry room, game room, Close to a lot of things. A Resort."

"Arrived around 3 pm and there was a fire truck sitting in the driveway. Power outage and was told to stay in our car till power was restored. After being allowed inside, I waited for over 3 1/2 hrs in line they said it might be 5 minutes to 5 hrs before the computers would be working. Was told we would be compensated for the delay. Went to dinner and got back around 8:30, still had to wait in line for another hour or so to get into the rooms. Went to customer service the next day to see what the compensation was going to be and was told since I booked it through an agency they could only give us complimentry breakfast. The day before they said 1/2 off one night stay. We had booked 3 rooms for 3 nights and only got a breakfast out of it. Give me a break!!!!!! No hot water in the mornings for showers and the fridge went out on Sunday afternoon and never fixed while we were there."

"The hotel itself is nice enough.
However:
The elevators are vastly overcrowded.
The power went out for hours after a brief storm.
Our hairdryer broke.
We were without hot water for nearly 24 hours, even after multiple calls to the front desk.
One day our room was not even cleaned. Finally at about 6:30 we called the front desk again to complain.
After all the issues we had, the hotel refused any sort of compensation since we booked through a 3rd party.
Again, overall, the hotel building is nice enough, but the service is awful."

"We had a great time, hotel was in need of an update though! We reserved a non smoking room and upon checking in well.. the room reeked of smoke, we had to purchase deoderizer so i could stay ( asthma issues) . Family loved the pool areas but we couldnt really enjoy the lazy rivers because of rambunctious children ( to be expected) my husband ddi love being right on the beach! Did not like view of the indoor pool from our room but for the price we did not expect much anyway. Staff was great with directions and hotel activity info!"

"well we did have a nice trip this hotel was not worth the money...we booked what we thought was a smoking ocean view room when we we called we were told no it was an interior room with a view of the courtyard...turns out the courtyard is the top of the indoor pool an another building. The hallways were HOT an it took a long time to get an elevator...our safe didnt work the whole stay so we had to run stuff to our car in the parking garage to lock it up. Plug in bath tub didnt work an they had to send several ppl up to fix the securtiy lock on our door. The pools an lazy river, were nice but filled with screaming kids an the hot tubs were constantly filled with kids an sand. The pool side bar shut down early every night an when we tried to purchase tipsy turtle tee shirts three days in a row we couldnt cuz they were locked up in the managers office. For the money we spent next time were stayin someplace else cuz we seen a whole lot nicer places for less money!!!"

"This hotel is less than desirable. The room was decent, however we had an interior room 'pool view' that actually was overlooking the rook with air conditioner on top where the heat rolled up. The pool that was in view was the inside pool that was covered. The carpet throughout the hotel was old. The laundry room A/C was broken and it was at least 110 degrees. This is a really big hotel and there are only 4 elevators - none were air conditioned. The wait for an elevator was at least 10 minutes to 30 minutes. Not a recommended place to stay! Very disappointed."

"I was not please with the Landmark Resort. IT is a very old Resort and need to be renovated. The Ceiling was very dusty,crack, peeling and falling down on one of our beds which we could not sleep in. The Vent in the bathroom was very dusty and the floor had rust along side the wall. The shower made a very loud noise. The carpet in the rooms and leading to the rooms need to be replace they have a mildew smell. Overall I was not please with the Resort. But we did enjoy the Beach......."

"The rooms were clean and up to date. Everything was satisfactory. Ocean view ended up being the side of the hotel not the ocean front-side. But still has a decent view The free admission to the little watermark and golf was nice. They even had some free shows and kid activities. Parking was free and a catwalk over the busy street was useful. The staff was very nice, everyone said hello and was friendly. The only downside had nothing to do with the hotel, the other guests didn't watch their children at the lazy river and pool which made it chaos. The safest area for little ones was the inner kid 1ft area and the water park area Other then that the stay was good."

"We booked this one week stay. The hotel was dated and could use an update, but not horrible by any means. The rooms and bathrooms were clean, no bugs, no odors, ect. The resort staff were very pleasant and helpful throughout our stay. We were disappointed in the 'courtyard view'...which actually overlooked a bird crapped rooftop over the indoor pools, but you also get what you pay for. Overall this was a bargain priced room and we got a bargain priced view! Overall, not a bad stay!"

"We had expected a little higher class hotel as this one was. None of the hot tubs were hot nor were you capable of getting in any of them. Way over crowded. Also were told that towels would be available at the pool side, yet they fail to mention tat is only between the hours of 8-5... Even though the pools were open until 11. Ice machines were on each floor, however only two that we found out of 15 floors, actually worked and had ice. Couldn't get the lady at the poolside bar to stop talking to her 'friends' long enough to wait on the seven people in line behind them. Saw most of them leave as well.... Not impressed at all with this hotel..."

"When getting ready to go to bed our first night there, our sheets had to be changed when we discovered there was a stain on one set. We called the front desk and it took approximately 45 minutes to get sheets. We had two children that were tired, as well as ourselves, so when we finally got the sheets, we changed them ourselves. One other day we got no housekeeping service at all. Will not return."

"Our overall stay was satisfactory. However, things we noticed were that the mattresses were rather unconfortable, the shower head was placed so low that you literally had to bend over to rinse your hair. The hotel itself is nicely equipped with many ammenities, pools, hot tubs, children geared activities and water play park. The pool area I felt could have been kept cleaner. There was trash blowing around with the sea breeze and trash on the entrance to the ocean path. It was rather unappealing. The food was good. However, the prices changed from day to day for certain things, I think that they said there was a new computer system being installed. However, it is kind of crazy when one day a Gatorade is $2.00 and the next day it is over $3.00. All in all it was a reasonable place for the money."

"I really enjoyed my stay at this resort. My fiancee, cousin, his girlfriend, and I stayed for four days. The staff and other personnel treated us with respect and where very friendly. The resort looked beautiful from the outside during the day, and at night with all the lights on the resort hotel blew our minds. We took full advantage of the 17 pools that were available. In short we enjoyed our stay at the resort and I definitely recommend this resort to everyone."

"My husband had stayed here when he was a kid, so he was looking forward to taking me there. I saw his face of horrow as we first got there walking to our room the outside corridors smelled of a combination of saltwater and pee. It was very confusing to find our room, once we did he seemed happier that our room was located in an indoor hallway and did not smell. The room was o.k but not great, we had a microwave, sink and a small fridge. The fridge either froze all our food or did not keep it cold enough (no middle ground). The two double beds seemed small ( I had to sleep in one and my husband in the other in order to be comfortable). We stayed 6 days, on the second day I told the cleaning staff to change the sheets of my bed for it had a mustard stain ( I did not have mustard) and they never did!!! The large pool was very cold and had stuff floating in it (plastic caps etc), the lazy river did not propel you, most of the time I had to push with my feet. The pools were very crowded. The elevators were slow and sometimes they would not stop at your floor, so you ended up waiting for the elevator for a while. Overall I did not want to tell my husband this was a mediocre hotel at best, but given the choice I would not stay here again. Parklng was good, but very far from rooms."

"This was my first time to stay at this hotel and my first impression was not great. The staff checking you in were not friendly. The staff member could not find my reservation at first but when they did, they mention oh you book it through a third party. I got there around 3:00 but I was told my room was not ready that it would be 4 'o'clock before it would be. Odd - other people were getting their keys. It was after four and after asking if the hold up was do to booking the room through a third party when I actually got a room. Just to mention, housekeeping was at my room every day after check in around 9 and 9:30 in the mourning.
When I started to ask questions, such as where to park, what floor are the pools, and were are the elevators, the staff acted like I was bothering them. Poor customer service, like I said first impressions make a difference. The hotel does not have enough elevators, four for 15 floors and only two will go to the ground floor where the pools are located. The door to the room only had one lock which didn't seam secure; you could see the light from the hallway coming through all around the door. I was glad I didn't pay the full price as stated on the door, you get what you pay for.
Myrtle Beach was great, my daughter enjoyed it. A lot of things to do, I just would recommend staying at another hotel."

"The hotel is very outdated. Photos are not current. The 'courtyard' was the nasty, bird poop covered roof of the indoor pool. Very disappointed. Housekeeping had to be called the first night we were there to change the dirty sheets on our bed, which, to their credit, they did so promptly. The pools should have been much cleaner and clearer, but they were cloudy the whole time. The last night we were there, there was an announcement made about 1:40 am that it was safe for the guests to go back to their rooms. The fire alarm in our room never went off to begin with. We ended up leaving around 2:30 in the morning to go home. The staff said they didn't know why the fire alarm didn't go off at first, but then called back and said the alarms only go off if you are in an area of the hotel where the fire is. Do I want to be alerted when there is a fire anywhere in the hotel in which my family is sleeping? Of course I do!! They determined someone had just pulled the fire alarm, but what if there had been a real fire? We might not have ever known until it was too late. The only plus at this hotel is the snack bar at the pool. It is convenient, but very slow. I will not ever stay here again. "

"Ive stayed here quite a few times in the past however I will no longer visit this resort again. I booked a standard size room and decided I wanted a suite. I made the reservation and PAID for the room change. However when it came time to make the room change during 12 to 1 I was at the store. So I was informed I could not move into the room I already paid for until the next day. It was only 2pm and I itold the staff I could move my belongings myself.. Well they refused so I checked out on 6/30/12 and had a wonderful stay at a different resort. I checked my account today 6/6/12 and noticed they charged me $110.46 for another day (6/1/12) that I did not stay!!! I just hung up the phone with them and informed them of their error. Not only couldnt they accomadate me they charged me for an extra night and I checked out EARLY!!!"

"I read the reviews days before leaving for Landmark and I was a bit discouraged of what I read and almost decided to cancel and rebook with another Hotel/Resort. I decided against it and took a chance and my kids LOVED it. They didn't want to leave the day of our departure and they are already to go back. Yes, the resort needs a few upgrades, but if it didn't I probably wouldn't of got the good deal I did get. We never had to leave the hotel, everything was right there, the entertainment, the food, pools, putt putt, waterpark and the beach. Yes, the elevators were a bit slow, but what do you expect when you have so many people to service. I was really pleased with the frontdesk staff and the security that was put in place for our benefit. As soon as a few guys started acting up around the pool one night, they jumped right in and sent them on their way. We do plan to visit again and I've already recommeded it to family and friends."

"Our overall stay was alright. There were a couple downfalls, which we felt could have been improved or made our trip better.... the staff wasn't the friendliest (we never saw one smiling face and we were there for 4 days), there weren't enough tubes for the indoor lazy river and too many kids not being supervised (yes we know this is a parents issue but all they did was goof off... we did appreciate one staff member who did say something to kids who were acting up by the pools), there weren't enough luggage carts the day we were to leave, we had to track someone down way over at the parking garage (which may I add that particular guest stated he got his cart the prior evening and kept in his room all evening), the sand rinser at near the pool and exit to the beach was awful... they should definitely consider cleaning the sand from that area so the people who want to clean the sand off their feet don't have to continue stepping in sand (maybe add another one considering their hotel is so big)
The friendliest people were housekeeping (on the 15th floor on the interior side) and the gentleman whom was out front taking care of the property.
This is definitely more of a 'kids hotel'... The rooms were very clean and they did not smell like a 'typical' beach hotel."

"I'm always a bit apprenhensive when booking a room online. I depend upon reviews of others that have stayed in the hotel before. I was pleased with the cleanliness of the room, the helpfulness of the staff. We enjoyed miniature golf, but did not access the pools. We stayed on the ocean instead. I liked having the refrigerator and microwave in the room as well as a stock cabinet of dishes and utensils. I did not particularly care for my view. I work as an HVAC technician and my view was of about 13 rooftop units. I was hoping to escape that for a week. LOL! Other rooms had an ocean view. The front desk was very helpful in changing our room to a nonsmoking room though upon arrival. One of our children has asthma and would have been sick before leaving otherwise. I would stay here again if I visit Myrtle Beach, SC again."

"I booked the Interior Guest Room for my family vacation. The room was just as we expected...two double beds, a wet bar (small fridge, microwave and small sink). The room was nice and clean. Our balcony view was not so great, but for the price I couldn't complain. I knew I was not getting an ocean view. For someone with kids, this was a great place to stay. My children loved all the pools, hot tubs, and lazy rivers!! We also took advantage of the mini golf course which was included in the price. I thought it was nice that the Landmark offered children's activities such as sea shell hunting and painting and shark tooth hunts. My son had his face painted as one of the activities. We had our picture taken with Salty the Shark, Landmarks mascot. A pirate with a real parrot made an appearance on one of the days. The hula show on Saturday night looked really neat. We were unable to attend because my son got sick. This was a great place to stay especially if you have kids."

"Its an old hotel, but doesnt have the musty old smell. Its kept clean, could use some updating.
The pools and hot tubs are full of kids. They really need to designate certain areas for adults only. There are two lazy rivers, and the kids take over both of them. You cant have a nice relaxing ride on your tube due to the kids, jumping around, and chasing each other on their tubes. The hot tubs are full of kids also mostly unsupervised, they were splashing each other and playing like they would in a regular pool. The adults dont have a chance."

"Great place to stay on a family vacation. I found the amentities, such as the pool areas to be great. My 2 kids ages 6 and 10 stayed busy. Great ocean area too. There are areas along Myrtle Beach where the beach area has alot of shells, therefore, making it very difficult for young ones to swim...not the case at this hotel. My only complaint would be there isnt enough bell carts, which is a issue when you have tons of stuff to haul and the beds are extremely hard. Besides those 2 minor & fixable issues my family and I really did enjoy ourselves."

"This was our second visit at the Landmark. The price was great for being on the beach. This hotel has alot of stuff to do. My son loves the pools and the lazy rivers. He also likes that they have putt putt. The rooms are not the most fancy ones around. The hotel this time around was dirtier in spots. We did have some issues with little stuff in our rooms but it got taken care of quickly. The beds weren't the most comfortable but how many hotels have comfortable beds. We will be back again in 2013. This hotel is a good hotel for the price we paid. It ain't the Hilton but it is a nice hotel with a bunch of activities for the family. The economy is bad and we could tell. Myrtle Beach was empty. I am sure that it costs money for these hotels to stay up with maintenance. Not every hotel is going to be perfect. I give the Landmark 4 out of 5 stars. The only thing that would of made the trip better is not seeing so many Pittsburgh Steelers fans around town. I hate Pittsburgh Steelers fans. Other than that my family had a good time."

"The hotel was just OK. The lobby has been recently remodeled but the rooms need some work. It was clean and you could tell they had painted over the blemishes instead of fixing them. The door to the bathroom was rotting and rusting and they placed screws at the bottom of it to hold it in place then painted over it. And if you are over 5ft 5in you will have a hard time showering. The shower head was very low and my boyfriend attempted to reposition it and the whole pipe moved out from the wall. We called the front desk and they sent a maintance man up to look at it. He could only tighten the ring that goes against the wall and said he would have to wait until the our room and the room beside it were empty to be able to cut into the wall to replace the wedge that holds the pipe in place. The front dest was not very helpful. We were in the hot tub around 10 pm and the bubbles just shut off. I tried to find someplace to turn them back on, but to no avail. I also walked around the entire pool area looking for a staff member to no avail as well. So we gave up and went back to our room and the pool area did not close until 11pm"

"I thought the room was very nice. Free covered parking garage... nice. But not trailer/big vehicle friendly. Room walls are way thin. Fireworks outside woke me up each night as well as kids running though the halls someone was yelling on the phone through the night one night. ... Twice the fire alarm went off and woke me up, but it was the announcement to go back into the rooms.. never heard the actual alarm. Got a crank phone call too-- Also woke me up. Lots of the pools/hot tub and lazy rivers were closed making the remainders overcrowded. Kids swimming in the hot tubs and lazy rivers without the tubes. Trashcans were overflowing in the parking garage.... Either needed more or needed someone to empty them more freq.One of the elevators was broken at one point. I chose this hotel for the great amenities... but I didn't get to enjoy them like I wanted....... :("

"When I arrived at 7:00pm on 8/10/12, a storm had already passed. Landmark computer system was down. I was told by other visitors that the computer system had been down since 3:00pm. Staff did not decide to manual check visitors in until 8:00pm. I felt this decision should have been made once management realized by 6:00pm that the computer system was not working. Also, there was one day that the elevators were not working and my room was on the 15th floor. All in all, the trip was good. My family enjoyed there stay. I would attend again."

"We stayed at the Landmark Resort 7/28/12- 8/2/12. After reading all the reviews, I was a bit nervous but it was great. An excellent value for the money. The room was clean- housekeeping did an excellent job. Everyone was very friendly- the pool area both inside and out was great and my kids had a blast! You can't get a better value right on the ocean! The only negatives were the luau dinner was not much food- I would not recommend it. The Luau show however was exellent. And there were cockroaches that came out only at night on the wall in the indoor pool area, I am not sure why they could not do soemthing to take care of those bugs- but never saw any of them anywhere else- they stayed on the wall only at night."

"front desk staff unfriendly, except for the young man that checked me in. stayed 3 night, no clean towels, one light blub out in bathroom, told housekeeping, per housekeeping someone would change it in five minutes, no one ever did.
hallway had funny smell. room was ok. freezer was iced over.
difficult to find way around hotel, need signs to where everything is. parking was great. convenient to area attractions, stores, restaurant."

"I agree with the reviewer above, regarding the outdated state of the facilities. The elevators, besides being terribly slow and therefore, crowded all the time, have a permanent pool of water since people is coming either from the pool or the beach. The staff is not courteous or professional at all. When I asked the young lady at the counter what kind of restaurants were in the area her response was: depends what you like but provided no information. Another instance was when I asked for the nearest pharmacy. A representative just said there's one on King highway but offered no details and didn't ask if I needed help either. Also, nobody informed us that the restaurants in the area close at 2 pm even the one on site, The Gazebo. To some people little details don't count, to us they do that's why I would like to mention that the towels they offer at the water park are minuscule so if you're planning to stay at the Landmark bring your own. There's no supervision whatsoever, drunk guy almost fell on top of my son while in the pool. The people in the drunk guy's group were smoking and drinking despite a sign stating that it was prohibited. I was really upset because my son and grandson's vacation was ruined since we have to go back to our room because of these people. To top everything off we asked for a wake-up call on the day of our departure and they didn't call. Should I overslept, we would have miss our flight back home! Terrible experience! A waste of money!"

"we had in our booking ask to have extra pillows and have ocean view and we did not get the pillows at check in and also did not have ocean view. i had to ask for the pillows 3 times before i finally went down there. aslo when we where going to leave and take the offered airport shuttle from the landmark hotel the driver went to the airport and was waiting at the airport and he was finally radioed that we where at the hotel waiting to go to the airport and not waiting at the airport. so there where a few issues with this place but overall was an ok exp. also the back elevators by pools took forever so you are better off walking up front to get the elevator as it was cleaner and faster.
also we had a room that was newly renovated and i could not immagine what a room not renovated was.

"I had 3 boys with me and one got sick while we were in Myrtle Beach. The fact that the hotel had so much fun stuff to do while one of the boys stayed in the room sick made it so the other 2 boys still had a good weekend. Having the kitchenette in the room made it so we could take better care of our kid that got sick. Only negative we experience was a lack of towels at the pool. It wasnt even that crowded and there were no towels, I cant imagine what it would be like when crowded."

"What a great time we had at the Landmark Resort at Myrtle Beach for New Years. We had an ocean front suite for a great price. It was clean and very adequate for our stay. I totally enjoyed the fireworks starting around 9 pm and lasting until after midnight. And, also, the people that ventured to the beach to do this. People seemed so happy and showed their enthusiasm for the new year and greeted everyone with this approach. Great place to stay. Great breakfast in the restaurant. Neat bar where you tend to meet people especially because of its close quarters. It would be nice it it were bigger but not necessary. Everyone was so nice. We've stayed here a lot before and will be going back."

"I just wanted to say that this is one of the best hotels I've stayed in when traveling to Myrtle Beach. The price was great, the room was clean and the beds are super comfortable. I was in an ocean front room; great view of the ocean! The staff were friendly. Hotel had its own bar/restaurant. It is conveniently located to everything. If you are going to stay at a Hotel on the beach, make it this one. Parking was also excellent. Same side parking, as well as a parking garage across the street that has an overpass, so you don't have to cross the street in traffic. Awesome!"

The hotel was extremely clean, pools were clean and well maintained, they even gave us a map to be able to navigate the big hotel which helped us out nicely. "I travel here often and have stayed at many places. The hotel was very nice, yes it is an older hotel.. the pools were great, the deccorating was nice in lobbies...all in all it was a great time. little further down the beach not right in the mix of the strip, but than if you are there at busy time with children you may not want that. GREAT PLACE ALL IN ALL. I did not eat at the pub so I can't speak for that."

"I would agree with others that you could tell it was an older hotel and could use a few repairs. However, my overall experience was great. The staff were friendly and answered any questions we had. My friends and I enjoyed the many pools and the close Ocean access. We had a wonderful time there and wish we could have stayed longer.
