I really liked the security and privacy of the location yet it is still close to anything you wanna do. It made us decide we want to move there. "False advertising. The pictures were not accurate to what we ended up staying in.
It was fine, but not spectacular and new as shown in the pictures. The paint was peeling off the walls, nothing matched, internet was very slow and often didn't even work, there was no welcome kit as promised. We saw only the gate entrance security monitor, otherwise, there was not staff."

"Just came back from a great week in Myrtle Beach. Weather was great. Spent a week in a 2 bedroom condo in the south tower of the Kingston Plantation. Property is huge... many towers and many hotels on 1 property. I totally recommend walking around and maybe checking out all the properties before picking 1 place to stay at. Our condo was clean, a little dated, but clean. Lots of usually ammenities that when renting a condo offer. We had 2 good size bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, 1 with a hot tub, washer/dryer. kitchen & living room. Everything was provided for us, even blow dryers in the bathrooms....
Great location... close to shopping, Broadway on the Beach, Barefoot Landing, House of Blues, everything...

"The two bedroom condo was not very clean. The top of the refrigerator had not been cleaned in months. The screened in porch area was filthy and full of cob webs and roaches.The shower was moldy and the bottom where the caulk is was black mold. Never again!"

"We booked a 2 bedroom condo that had poor bedding, amenities were out of date, internet was 10 per day, we were given the wrong pool code, the pots and pans in the kitchen did not have handles on them. My kids could not use the pool at embassy suite and the gameroom was locked. We had to drive 8 miles to get a key and then the key often would not work. We had to check out by 10am and discovered that we were locked in the condo. This was the worse trip ever. Do not plan a vacation with palmetto leasing because the group is a joke. We never got an information packet so we had to locate the office and they are closed on Sunday. We will never use this group again. The price was too high for what we got."

"My family stayed at the Royal Palms in a three bedroom condo and it was definitely worth it. The entire facility was updated and clean. We had access to the outdoor pools and tiki bar. The condo was very spacious as well. The only down side is that there was an extra $200 added for housekeeping and fees, which did not include daily house cleaning! Plus, you had to pick up your keys about 10 minutes away from the Royal Palms and drop them off 10 minutes a way at the palmetto vacation rentals place, which was a bit of a pain. Next time, I would choose to stay longer at the Royal Palms! "

"Having spent many other times with family I have to say that we won't be back to SH.The next morning when my son wanted to toast his poptart he saw a roach in the toast walking across counter, the place was outdated and dreary, When we originally booked our condo and we call the rental Mgmt, he send me a website address showing me the room we would be staying,which was updated with stainsteel appliance and marble counter, but when we arrive they switch room to old and outdate, the old show and switch room the condo itself is in desperate need of a deep cleaning! Both bathroom shower curtains were covered in mold and mildew. The walls were cracked in certain places with drywall laying on the carpet. The carpet is in real need of replacing considering the fact that there are numerous stains and when you walk on it your clean feet will turn black! (Make sure to wear shoes/slippers/socks the entire time you stay there!) The tile floor looked like it had a dirty mop swiped across it....not clean at all.They did not display very good hospitality. One last note, make sure to either bring your own linens or your own laundry detergent, because when we ran out of washcloths and towels we were informed that we would need to wash our own. I thought that this was going to be a relaxing vacation, but it was one of the most miserable ones I have been on! I will definitely not be re-booking to stay at the South Hampton Towers ever again!

"The villa was very pretty but it was not clean. I have pictures of dust bunnies, dirty q-tips, hairbows, pearls from a broke necklace or bracelet. The doors had not been swept behind, the master bathtub was dirty. The laundry room had trash in floor. My granddaughters feet were black where she walked barefoot on the floor. The sheets did not fit the bed so we had to continually try to fix fitted sheets. We killed numerous bugs and I was afraid I was going to bring water bugs home in my luggage. We will never book through Pametto Vacation Rentals again."

"When we arrived at Kingston Palntation to check in however they informed us that we would have to go to a different locations to pick up our keys to the room . So we then had to travel 4 miles to Palmetto Vacation Rentals Myrtle Beach, SC. Which closed at 5:00 pm Luckliy a employee was still working and gave us our keys to the room. We returned to South Hampton at Kingston Plantation to get into our condo. The keys they gave us did not work so then we had to call a toll free no# to leave a message and waited 2 hours before we could get into our room. We also had no maid service. The King size bed in the Master bedroom was very hard and unbearable to sleep on. This is not what I expected out of my Vacation at Kingston Plantation. "

"We stayed in a 2 bed room condo for a week best place we ever stayed.Condo was clean and had anything you could possibly ask for 'ice maker'. nIt was a short walk to the beach or pools, Hilton had the best pool and deck with a kiddy pool 1.5feet deep and a full service bar. Everything was with in a 10min drive great restaurants'flying fish' at barefoot landing right behind alligator adventures,cvs drugstore right up the street Tangers outlet mall is 5mins away.nWe had ducks and black swans come to our back door every morning to enjoy breakfast with us on the patio.nJust don't forget to go get your keys before you go to the plantation lol."

"Upon arriving early, we were greeted by the front desk clerk and informed our room was already ready... great since we drove all night and arrived 5 hours before check-in. The clerk was very efficient and friendly. She answered all questions for us as well as gave great directions to the location. As we arrived at our condo, we were amazed at the beautiful gated community. The guard at the gate gave us easy directions to our villa. We were pleasantly surprised with the size as well as the cleanliness of our 2 bedroom condo with a screened in patio. Right out from our villa was a gated pool exclusive for our set of condos. My family enjoyed the clean, maintained pool daily. Although we were not ocean front, we were a quick drive through the plantation away (in which we made every day for our daily beach visit). The grounds reminded me of the nature with the trees and landscaping and paths. The trip overall was a great experience and kept my teenage children busy all week. I would definately recommend this location and can't wait to return next year!!!!!"

"We were issued two keys for our villa. One key did not fit imto the lock at all. The other key had to be wiggled imto the key hole and required us to jiggle the handle and key in just the precise way for the door to unlock! Very frustrating! Maintenance was notified and came in a timely fashion, took our key which did not fit at all, promising to deliver another key. This never happened. Again, very frustrating!! The master bathroom did not smell fresh at all. Sour shower liner and the smell of urine around the toilet."

"Cheked into our villa late afternoon, left for the evening and came back with groceries to put away. Turned on kitchen lights and several cochroaches scattered everywhere in kitchen. Floor was so filthy your feet stuck to it, Cloth on bedroom stand was ripped to shreads. Because we went through a rental property the hotel would not help us. We had to stay the night. Next morning we were moved to another condo which was 20 minutes away up in North Myrtle Beach, but it was an upgrade and it was much cleaner and nicer. Was told by rental propery worker, when asked if she wanted see pictures, no, she believed me and in fact the villa next door also had roach problems. Why in the world would rental agency place someone in the villa knowing about a roach problem next door!. Roaches move!!!! I will probably never go through a rental agency again."

"We were not on the oceanfront..felt deceived..But that's just the beginning. The keys would not open the unit...and after driving 11 hours...the only way we got in was because we BROUGHT Vaseline. Then later that night, they doorknob lock wouldn't work..so my son had to be thrusted up onto the balcony, and if he would have fell, it would have been devastating...We could not lock the unit at all after this...but wait, there's more drama. At midnight, on saturday night, a FAMILY CAME INTO OUR UNIT...yes, they must have double booked. So my NAKED husband had to thro clothes on after being in a deep sleep, thinking there were burglars in our rented unit. I called the office manager today, Monday, and she has not called me back. I will get my money back...NOT A GOOD EXPERIENCE."

"The condo was very nice & relaxing. The view was gorgeous & we were right on the ocean. The complaint would be you do not have access to a lot of areas & we were promised lunch & breafast vouchers that we never received. The vouchers we ask about as we were checking out were for a place called 'Eggs Up', & it was nowhere on site or near us. Over all we were pleased with the condo but it is not like your typical hotel/condo. There is no front desk or anyone for immediate questions or issues."

"BEWARE! The basic two bedroom no-view condo is old, crappy, dirty and nowhere near the beach. NOTHING like what is shown in the photos. We complained and they quickly gave us an upgrade. If you don't want to pay for the upgrade don't book the cheap ones, its just not worth it."

"My trip was very nice and relaxing. I do have some complaints about the building in which we were in. With in 2 hours of arriving the main elevatior went out and some other guest were stuck in the elevator not once but twice. Our room itself was ok but not enough pillows for the bed in the master room also the jetted tub did not work in the bathroom and also the toilet in the other room constantly ran if you did not remove the cover and fix it. I do understand the consequences of renting through rental agencies and overall I think they did the best they could and I will next time get more info from them about the units that they offer."

"A Kingston Plantation representative was easy to access, friendly, and helpful. We called ahead because we arrived after 5 p.m. We had no trouble picking up our condo keys and reading the directions to locate our condo. The front gate personnel at the Royale Palm were professional and kind. We liked having an upgrade to a three bedroom condo. The accommodations were clean and generally comfortable. I was chagrined at the advertised price of $79 escalating to over $140 per night because of additional fees (the base rate only covers 2 people and we had 4 people). We're not sorry for our Friday night/Saturday night stays. It was disconcerting to be required to be completely out of the condo and have the trash completely removed by 10 a.m. on a Sunday morning. We appreciated the ocean view and beach accessibility, easy parking and unloading/loading, full kitchen, spacious accommodations, and the quiet that we enjoyed."

"The good: The hotel is beautiful. Grounds are gorgeous. Clean and well kept. The Bad: The rental agency. Located 6 miles away from the property and without a person available at this location to handle any complains. The Ugly: Pictures are deceiving. Booked a 2 bedroom condo and got a townhouse villa. It's ok but keys didn't open the doors. Complained and got an 'upgrade' to ocean view condo at South Hamptom. Condo was outdated. Awful smelling room. Mold in the shower curtain. Sour bed lines. ' european' Blankets from WWII if not older. Please stay at Brighton or Margate tower and avoid South hampton. If rent from them be cautious. Poor customer service."

"I made reservations at the resort as my son had a short leave from the military for the weekend and we were looking forward to all the options that the resort had to offer. We arrive on Friday after 5 p.m. so we were required to pick up our keys from a lock box at the Rental Office. This was not a problem as I had been instructed to do this if we were going to have a late check in and I would need to check with the office the next day. When we got to the condo, i was met with a sticky floor in the kitchen. As we brought our things into the condo we also noted that the wallpaper was peeling, there were outlets that were not secure to the wall, the place just had a dirty feel (dust/dirt on the the walls, baseboards, outlets, etc). The couch had a tear in it about 8 inches along and we found out the ice maker didn't work. When I book this condo in the fine print stated that I was being charged a $100 cleaning fee for this condo. This is a joke. If there would have been someone in to clean before we got there, I am assuming the floors would have been clean, there would have been garbage liners in the garbage cans, the dishes would have been put away among other things (there was visible dust and grime on the outlets, walls, baseboards, plastic plants. It was just terrible). The next morning when we check in at the rental office, I informed the lady of alls these issues/uncleanliness. She said that she would 'take note of them' and took a copy of the list that I made. I told her that we were not really happy with the accomodations. I then asked her if there were a list of resort access that we had to inform us what was available to us. I also asked how we should go about making golf reservations and and if she had our pool passes which were noted in the information. She told me that she didn't have any information about any of the golf or other 'recreational' offerings that were available. She also said that we didn't need any pool passes. When we went down to the pools, both were locked and there was no one around to asked questions of. We looked throughout the condo and there absolutely no information on what was available to us. I was very disappointed in it. I would NOT recommend a stay here as the pictures that are shown on the website really don't accurately reflect the condition of the condo that you are getting. Rental staff was very unhelpful and I was extremely disappointed."
