The outside and lobby are deceiving. They appear and look nice. As far as the room was concerned: 1. Beds and pillows so old broken and worn, a hammock would have been better. 2. Telephone in room inoperable. I guess that keeps down people complaining to staff on the disgusting room. 3. Fan in bathroom so full of dust and filth that it was of no use.(I have photos). 4. Air conditioner filters were never cleaned. The A/C therefore fills the room with a putrid stench. 5. Bathtub had a mat in it to ... Read more

My family stayed at this hotel during a recent vacation to Myrtle Beach. Although it isn't an oceanfront property, it was just a five minute drive to the beach. Broadway at the Beach was also directly across the street. The customer service was only average. The breakfast offerings were pretty good and the lady working the area kept things stocked. The rooms were extremely dated and in desperate need of an upgrade. There was rust around the door frame of the bathroom, toilet tissue holder, ... Read more

The staff at this hotel is very good: professional, courteous, and personable. However, the room that we had was in definite need of updating and refining. Paint was peeling in the bathroom and not real clean. We were very disappointed with the second floor room as a Platinum Ambassador, but maybe the upper floors are smoking? Breakfast was very good and service kept the buffet full. Due to room quality, we would not stay here if in the area again.

We chose the hotel because of an offer we had. The front desk staff were all really friendly and helpful, from a quick check in to getting us plastic forks when we brought back food and forgot them. The room was okay, the same as basically all the hotel rooms. My husband and I thought the beds were very comfortable, and I like that they offer different pillow types to suit needs. I also like that they use Bath and Body Works bathroom products, as I know I can use them and not have reactions to i... Read more

Breakfast was the best about the stay. Bed mattress was too soft for back, very out dated room. Window curtains had holes in the top with light shining through. Had a hard time closing curtains because the stick you use to close the curtain was broken at the end. Lamp shades were stained and towels had a peculiar smell. Room number on phone did not match the of the room. The elevators smelled old, moldy and dusty. Toilet ran all through the night. Housekeeping was lacking on their job by not... Read more

I have stayed in this hotel before so I knew what to expect. It is a pretty standard Holiday Inn Express with a good location in Myrtle Beach. It has a pool and overlooks a small lake\pond. The only things I have to complain about was a musty type smell in the room that did not go away. It was not overwhelming but annoying. The AC unit in the room could use some upgrading as well, it was difficult to maintain a comfortable temp without the room being too cold or warm. I did not bring eithe... Read more

We weren't crazy about this hotel. We normally do not stay at Holiday Inns while traveling and this stay reminded us why. We were given rooms on the first floor with two full beds, because that is the only floor with adjoining rooms. The beds were horrible! The bathrooms are small and set up weird. The room had a musty smell. The rooms do feature a kitchenette and the hotel is located a short distance from public beach access and other more commercial attractions. The best part of our stay was t... Read more

This Holiday Inn isn't even within WALKING DISTANCE of the beach. The a/c in the lobby was apparently leaking for the entire four days that I was there (including TWO week days) Mop buckets were staged at the main entrance to protect patrons....but it was an eyesore. The toilet leaked. The room a/c never cooled comfortably. The sink drained verrrrry slowly. Very pleasant front desk, housekeeping, maintenance and dining room staff.

This Holiday Inn is located only 5 minutes form the ocean, and the beach parking was not hard to find. Good pool, great breakfast, great service. The room needs a serious updating. Bed mattresses are good but everything else - furniture, doors, windows look outdated and have some issues.

Typically we have great luck with Holiday Inn Express hotels. However, we were so disappointed with this one. For $200/night you would expect to have some basics. When first arriving in the room, the smell of cleaning solution was so overpowering we called to switch rooms, but the front desk said it was just deodorizer and it would 'die down'. The room was also very run down. The chair had rips in it, there was hair in the bathroom, the beds were old and musty and overall very rundown and disapp... Read more

I came into town for a couple of nights and brought my girlfriend with me. We discovered blood on our bed upon turning down the sheets. When I went downstairs to make them aware I was told that housekeeping was gone and they were fully booked. I asked if there was a possibility of getting clean sheets or switching hotels and the woman at the front desk said that she would "see what she could do." I called IHG Rewards and informed them and they transferred me to another hotel with a kind bed. U... Read more

When I booked a stay at the Holiday Inn Express, I never expected anything other than quality, clean & comfortable accommodations. Unfortunately, I was wrong. While the front desk staff was pleasant & helpful, the guest room was very poor. I paid for a room with two queen size beds, but the beds were two full size beds with poor quality, unsupportive mattresses. Upon entering the room, a smell of mustiness combined with a faint odor of cigarette smoke was evident throughout. The furniture is da... Read more

I am a Sprire Elite member of IHG properties and travel all over the country staying primarily at this brand and have to say this is probably the worst hotel I have ever stayed at. There have been very mixed reviews about this location mainly with the good being the staff. I will agree that the staff was very pleasant but it ends there. You will be able to tell from the photos posted what I mean. 1. The door to the room stuck really bad and you literally had to put your shoulder behind it to ... Read more

Staff were great, very helpful and answered questions, the room was clean and comfortable as I have come to expect from holiday inn. The grounds were clean and well cared for. However, ducks were in the swimming pool every day we were there morning and evening. Seating in the breakfast area was limited and sadly, this same area is where the business center is located.

Check-in experience was a bit annoying. We arrived around 1 PM (which we knew was earlier than promised). The man at the counter checked my reservation so I am sure he could see I was a Spire Elite member, but he just replied that "we don't promise the room until 4 PM". I asked how long it would take and he stated that we should allow them an hour and a half and his tone was not a bit rude. We went to lunch and ran some errands and our next check-in experience was positive (and different sta... Read more

It has been a long time since visiting Myrtle Beach. I was surprised to see the growth that has happened. I was also pleasantly surprised at the service I recieved from this hotel. I knew that I would be arriving a little early and it did not bother me to have to wait. Once I arrived there was a wait, however, the staff checked to see if there was a room ready and my wait was about a couple of minutes. I brought my family down to Myrtle for a long weekend from Virginia. I am a platinum IHG member and stay at Holiday Inn's weekly for work. My biggest complaint about this hotel is they compromised our safety right off the bat. At check in we were given a room key to someone else's room! This is a huge pet peev for me because you never know who's room you could be walking into or what they could be doing for that matter. We arrived on July 13th and found the property and motel to be very inviting. The rate was in range for this tourist area. In for a large family reunion, and was the first time to visit Myrtle Beach. Broadway area right across the street with easy access. The breakfast bar was "loaded" with anything you would want to eat for breakfast.

Staff very friendly. Mold in bathroom. Only got a 2 rating cuz of staff. If u don't mind the bathroom ok place to stay. Not on the beach. Don't recommend walking to the beach. Traffic is high. Will then have to pay to park by beach. Didn't use shuttle.

Stayed in this hotel for 3 nights for a time share tour of a holiday inn resort. As a whole the hotel is not bad. A little outdated but the room we had - 2 double beds - was ok. My main complaint was housekeeping. I am attaching a picture of my bed that was supposed to have been made. My room was also missing hand towels. They were supposed to give you soap, shampoo, conditioner & lotion for every day you are staying. We only had it once in the first day. Good thing I have my own stuff. I am ver... Read more

Hotel was clean and the staff was extremely friendly. Need to give special thanks to the kitchen staff who were incredibly helpful in dealing with our food allergies. Even though it was a self-service breakfast (which was surprisingly extensive and varied!), the kitchen staff was more than willing to share food labels and ingredients so we could also enjoy the breakfast. Special thanks to Joy, Debby and Mike for being so accommodating and patient and friendly. The only reason for 4 stars inst... Read more

I have stayed at numerous Holiday Inn Express hotels because I know the standard of quality I will get. This one is the exception. It is in terrible need of renovation. The wall around the HVAC had plaster falling off the wall, the windows didn't close right, there was mold in the bathroom, the furniture looked like it had been there 30 years. The lighting in the shower area was barely light enough to see. The toilet needed to be flushed twice. The bright spot was the bed was comfortable. Outsid... Read more

The hotel was nice. The front desk personnel were very nice and informative. The pool area was nice and clean. The room was nice however it smelled a little funny after the housekeeper came in and vacuumed. The breakfast was outstanding! The only thing in which I disliked is that it is not ocean front and you have to drive to the ocean. Overall I will stay here again. I must add it is also in a nice location there are so many cool places near by!

First off-the best part of his stay was the friendly staff, free breakfast(not extraordinary but decent for being included), and location. Pool/hot tub nice during day, but do NOT go in evening-cockroaches everywhere! The staff will say they aren't cockroaches and that they are palmetto bugs, but a palmetto bug is indeed an American cockroach. They aren't like city roaches and keep to themselves but I felt that I didn't see them anywhere else, so it made us feel like they weren't exterminating o... Read more

We won't return to this hotel either. Our room didn't have a privacy curtain. It had been taken down and not replaced. The bed skirts were torn and worn. The refrigerator took two hands to open or it came out of the spot. The shower/tub was scary. You had to stand in a certain place to keep from falling. The tub was stained and dirty looking.
