"The hotel was very outdated and did not seem real clean. Carpet was dirty and the stove and fridge was very old. Walls were not in good shape. Our TV remote control for the living room TV would not work and we had to call several times to have maintenance come and reprogram the control. On our balcony there was something on the ceiling that looked very nasty. We had to have maintenance come and clean it off. It took several calls to finally have someone come by and clean it off. Overall, I was very disappointed with the room we had. I would not recommend the hotel to anyone and I will not stay there again."

"This was a great value for the price, room was in Tower 1, furniture needs an upgrade, reminded me of my grandparents sunroom in FL from 20 years ago, whitewashed, other than this we really had no issues. I would book again for a short stay of less than 3 nights. Other downfall is that check in is in a building across the street, parking was close to elevators which was a plus. Didn't encounter or need hotel staff other than at check in and she was friendly and efficient."

"This was the 2nd myrtle beach resort we stayed at in the past 2 weeks... we got a really good deal on this room with a full kitchen and 4 beds... we were very happy for the room. You do have to check in across the street from the hotel, but it is very manageable. In addition the staff is so very helpful, warm and welcoming. We had a 1pm checkout. We were not disturned by housekeeping staff on our check out day as we normally experience at most hotels. We even received 2 additional pillows at 2 am from the staff upon our request.

The only downfall was that it was that we were unable to enjoy the abundance of outdoor and indoor swimming pools... it was a bit too cool. The hot tubs were a little better even though the temperature wasnt as hot as we expected we were able to enjoy them as much as possible. I will plan another visit to this beach when the weather is hot."

"This was my worst nightmare. I arrived and checked into the hotel at about 9:00PM. I was given uncleaned room all the trash and dirty linen on the floor. I call the front desk and they told me they were sending in the room service crew to clean the room. After waiting for about 30 minutes, the crew came in and started the cleaning. After some time, they discovered the bed and the fridge were broken. When they called technical service to fix the broken, I called the front office and requested to be moved to another room to give way for technicians to fix the broken room. In spite the fact that the room service eople told me that there were empty rooms, the front office said, they had no power to change my room and suggested that I talk with the manager. The manager wasn't available for me. The rook took upto 1:00 pm to fix. The following day, the manage on duty said they could help me because they did not take my money. They told me to talk to book it for help. Very unfreiendly!!!"

"rooms could have been cleaner,beds was hard and flat pillows........overall don't think it was worth the money!!!! "needed a room that slept 8 , had wall bed & sleeper sofa no mattress no extra pillows no extra covers ( paid 40.00 extra for addl person) , room very small for 8 people , no toilet paper in room had to use kleenex's, called for these things to be brought to the room , took a very long time so we called to be moved to a room that was move in ready. was moved to a different room ,2nd night got ready for bed late & some young gangsters were beating on our door yelling open the door & tried to kick it in, went into the room next to us, called for security who came up & heard our complaint, did nothing & left , then it happened again so we again asked for our room to be changed , moved to another room supposed to be a non smoking room was thick with the smoke slept with head under covers & walked out with our clothes smelling highly like cigarette smoke. paid condo price for a room in the projects."

"Let's start from the start: no smoke alarm, no fitted sheet and when we called the front desk the house keeping came up and their idea of fixing it was knock on the door and hand it to my 10 year daughter I don't think so we on vacation and just paid $489 for 2 nights, then the lock didn't work on the sliding glass door, door handle was broke on the bathroom, fridge shelve fell in my lap when I put lunch meet on it, one elevator broke, other elevator had no emergency phone, air ducks messed up in parking lot and let's not forget went to wash clothes one of the 4 washers was broke and 2 of the 4 dryers were broke and then in the arcade the 4 games take tokens but the token machine was down!!! So please don't waste ur money here!!! "

"The room was very spacious and reasonable. the good thing about going on vacation during the off season. The bad thing is that the inside pool was not clean and the maid did not clean our room the first morning. She only cleaned the room when we were leaving the hotel. "We visited this resort the first week of June 2012. Disappointed !! The restaurants and bar areas were all closed. The pool and pool area was not kept clean. The bathroom vent was so clogged with dust and dirt that it wouldn't even take steam out of the room and they have the roughest towels I've ever touched. The resort looks to have been nice at one time (probably when the website pics were taken) but is really in disrepair now. However, the rooms were a descent size and cleaned each day and the cleaning staff was very nice. Will not stay there again. "

"Hi, we have been going to the Crown Reef for over 20 years. As you can already guess, this hotel is showing it's age. The few days we stayed there were good though. The hotel has shut down all of the amenities. We have always enjoyed the heated pool in the past, that is why we have gone in the Winter, it was not heated and the small shops and restaurants all closed. There are three towers at the Crown Reef, they were empty. I was sad to see this it feels like an old dinosaur to me. Telephone did not work and we did not have hot water for showers, other than that the room very clean and the staff great."
