I stayed at this hotel for 5 night and that was during black bike week. So far this was the BEST resort I stayed at on the beach. I only had 2 prolems. 1 my room smelled like corn chips and 2 my comforter looked like it had nail Polish or lipstick on it. I told the front desk and they were very apologetic about it. The staff is very friendly and nice. The hotel and rooms are very clean and well up to date. I really enjoyed my stay there and I will DEFINITELY be back. Thanks Carolinian for a nice... Read more

My family and I had a fishing trip booked for 1:00 pm. I called the week before to see if we could get an early check-in. The representative instructed me to call back the morning of our check-in and ask. We did. When I called, I was told the room was available and for us to come on. When we arrived, I was told there was a $15/hour charge for early arrivals. Once we got to our room to drop our things off, there was trash in the entry way and a cigarette packet on the balcony. I have stayed here for 5+ years. This year was much improved, particularly in guest services. Front desk operations was much more efficient. No waiting at check in/out as in previous years. Staff was friendly and efficient. Room was clean and neat. Except....the bathrooms need attention. There was mold in the caulking around the garden tub. For us Seniors climbing in/out of the tub to take a shower is hazardous. More safety rails and anti-slip mats would be helpful. Will be staying h... Read more

I stayed at this past weekend for 2 nights. I was pleasantly pleased with the cleanliness and excellent condition of the rooms. The layout of the 2 bedroom suite was perfect for our needs and very spacious. Housekeeping always delivered extra towels or any other request in a timely fashion. Check-in was efficient. Breakfast was pretty decent as well. No issues with noise from neighboring rooms. The location was convenient. I will most certainly stay here again.

I was under the impression I was renting a "condo" but it was actually just a standard hotel room. It was recently updated and on the "club level", which was nice. Only one lamp in the whole room so the room was very dark. No bed side lamps. Fan in bathroom was very loud and annoying. Room was clean, beds comfy. Keurig coffee machine in room but no coffee stirrers or cups. Pool area small but nice...the lazy river is very small, the size of a pool and just makes a small loop. Current wasn't stro... Read more

Excellent upgrade to the club level rooms. Room cleaning staff were always extremely nice and accommodating. The front desk staff were excellent both day and night managers, A special Atta Boy to Herb, went out of his way to ensure we were not inconvenienced. This was our third stay and we will be back.

This was a very nice place to stay. Great beach access with plenty of showers to rinse off at. Pools were never crowded and a big plus was that they were heated when needed. They offered a good complementary breakfast each morning which saved us money being a family of 5. I miss this place already !!!! Room 1630 you were my home away from home !!!

I stayed here with parents, boyfriend, and siblings! We got ourselves a suite and it was a bit small but it worked out very well! Next time we will strive for a two bedroom suite. Although, the entire suite we stayed in was very clean and spotless. The staff was very friendly I enjoyed speaking to all of them whenever I had a chance to. The pools downstairs were very warm and my siblings LOVED IT. The three pools came in handy whenever my siblings wanted some time outside of the beach. Complemen... Read more

We stayed here for 2 nights. Unfortunately for the hotel staff the majority of the hotel guests had checked out all at once and they were full again that night. They were under a visible amount of stress and handled it well. They were being screamed at by other hotel guests waiting for rooms, but couldn't give out keys until the rooms were ready. I was happy to just be pointed to the public bathrooms and hit the beach while they got our room ready. They called just as promised when the room... Read more

This was an adequate hotel/timeshare. The bed was good but the rest of the room needed an update. Old carpets, moldy shower curtain that is falling apart, not cleaned very well prior to our stay and during our stay they didn't clean the room until we ask for more linens. The pool is small but was not to over used during our stay. It is right on the beach. Lots of kids at this place if that is a factor. Very much a family place.

This resort is in bad need of major updating The housekeeping leaves a lot to be desired as most of time we had to call for towels. As far as sweeping floors or making beds forget it. The condo we were in we had neighbors who were very loud with their music and singing. We will not be staying here again. In fact, we will not be returning to Myrtle Beach. It is very expensive to vacation here.

Went to the Carolinian for a golf trip. We had a two bedroom suite and the view was excellent. You could see down the ocean as we had a corner room with a floor to ceiling window. We also had two balconies which were nice in size to sit out and watch the waves. Overall the room was clean but the bottom of the shower curtain was caked with mold. Also we didn't receive room service on the second day of our trip which was slightly disappointing. Overall not bad but not my favorite.

The other reviews weren't very friendly to this resort but I choose it because of location and price. After 5 days here I would be happy to come back. There were a few little maintenance issues. The noisy bathroom fan, a couple of the room lights didn't work perfectly- and the mini coffee pot needs to be upgraded, the pull out sleeper couch isn't too comfortable for more than one. We stayed in a 1 bedroom suite on the 12th floor during late August. We found the resort to be clean, well maintained and convenient to most everything in the area. One of the pools, and the small "lazy river" were fairly warm and protected from the sun. So we could spend a lot of time there without getting fried. There were also lounge chairs in a grassy yard directly off the beach. So we could lounge to watch the ocean, and just relax. The suite itself could not have been nicer. It was r... Read more

Booked through TripAdvisor that then sent through getaroom.com. Our only issue for this overnight stay was Tropical Storm Hermine. Our room was great. Clean. Comfy bed. Large bathroom. Easy check in despite the storm. The parking garage was not attached, kind of a bummer with the weather. I didn't use any of the amenities with this hotel other than the free breakfast and WiFi. I'd definitely consider staying here again.

We went for Labor Day weekend 2016 and stayed on the 21st floor in a 1 bedroom suite and it was very spacious. We love the cleanliness of the room. We didn't utilize the kitchen as far as cooking because we ate out and my in-laws had cooked in their room. The only cons we experienced was the king bed felt worn out, we never received small face towels and for a small period of time the elevators was out of service, which caused my 17yr. old, 6yr. old, my husband, and myself to take 19 flights of ... We stayed in the North Tower on the 4th floor. Our room had been updated and was clean. The beds were a little soft and the linens a little scratchy, but that would not deter us from staying there again. Every single staff member we interacted with was very friendly - from maintenance, housekeeping and front desk to the breakfast crew and pool attendant. We didn't mind having to walk to the parking garage (the weather was nice when we were there) as it is only a block. The beach in front of... Read more

The potential of this resort is right here...waiting to be realized. But they fall just short of being great. My husband and I are staying in a 1 bedroom suite. The layout of the suite is fantastic, the amenities are all here. A little dated, but that would be absolutely no issue, if only the suite was clean. The first night here, I spilled some juice on the kitchen floor. I discovered at that point that there was nothing to clean the dishes with, clothes to use, soap to use, etc. (considering... This hotel was nice and clean. The room was a good size and kept clean. Our bed didn't seem too steady though. Every time we sat down it sounded like it was about to come apart...and were not big people. The front desk staff was really professional and nice, however, the housekeepers were loud ghetto!! We were on an elevator with three of them and they were playing around and complaining about guest. The breakfast was very bland. They served sausage that tasted frozen / pre-cooked and the eg... I was at this motel on 9/15160-09/18/2016 with a tour group. The first room we were given was NASTY, so after about 1/2 hour they decided they could give us another room so we sat in the lobby for almost 2 hours waiting on a room meanwhile the manager was trying to suck up , because she was gonna loose a big sale. the second room the refrigater leaked, bathroom door wouldnt shut, bathtub was nasty, they NEVER came and cleaned our rooms , they NEVER brought us bath towels was asked for them , ... We needed a one night rental until we could get into our rented condo for the week. The reservationist said the room was not oceanfront but we had a nice side view of the ocean. Room was very clean with nice linens.

We just got home from 5 days/4 nights at the resort. Usually we don't sweat the minor things, but this hotel was just poor day after day. Day 1: When we first arrived in the room we had no towels/washrags/dish rags/etc. in the rooms. Also, there was no toilet paper, except what was on the rolls. This quickly ran out as we all had to go after a long day of travel. After repeated calls to the front desk, we didn't receive the items until two hours after the initial call. Next we found both o... Read more

We recently traveled to Myrtle Beach for a work conference. I was very worried about the Carolinian because of all the recent poor reviews I had seen. I was very relived to find our room in the north tower (shorter one) clean and fresh. There were no carpets but rather a nice gray synthetic flooring. The linens were crisp and the towels soft and fluffy. My boss ran into the new housekeeping manager who told her that they have a lot of work to do but are improving. The beds were a bit too firm bu... Read more

First, let me say the staff tried to help with the room problems but as they told us each of the rooms are owned individually and they cannot do anything about the horrors you may encounter checking in. Fortunately for us we went the last week of August when most families had their children back in school and we could check out other rooms to stay in. Try this during peak season and you'll be stuck with what you're assigned. The first room had dirty carpeting, rusty appliances like the stove and... Read more

Hotel is very clean. I never saw any trash laying around. Staff is friendly, always acknowledging your presence, holding doors open, just all around pleasant. The room was neat and clean and spacious. Beds were comfortable. The pools were always clean. The larger outdoor pool is not heated but it is not cold. The smaller pool and lazy river under rooftop were heated. Free breakfast was very good. Have the choice of sausage patties and links, scrambled eggs, danish, cereal, waffles, juice and m... Check in was very hassle free. Front desk lady was very friendly and knowledgeable. Keep in mind that the parking deck is across the street, about a 3 minute walk. They do offer a $10 valet service but we didn't use it considering we only had two bags for the night. Our room was in the first tower, fourth floor room 407. Walked in our room was clean and bathroom was clean. The floors seemed sticky but it wasn't a big deal. We had a little kitchenette with a mini fridge. Everything was updated ... Read more

My family and I recently stayed here and it's actually a good property at Decent price. It's clean and the rooms are a Decent size. The only thing that I would improve is the customer service. I won't go into details about that, but will address it with management. We enjoyed our stay. The lazy pool was fun and the location is great. They also have free breakfast from 630-1030. If you would like to visit a bar, there's one next door at their sister resort.

The whole hotel appears to have had a recent renovation, everything was clean, fresh, and the staff was friendly. Good value. Property footprint utilizes almost all the property. Only bad thing was parking deck was one street back but they do offer valet for $10 a day. No luggage carts available for the guests unless you use a bellman.

This resort is not up to the Wyndham standards the unit we stayed in had a torn shower curtain that housekeeping overlooked. There was no pool towels had to use room towels. The pool had other people from other resorts using. Pool area trashed not to mention all the pool towels piled up that needed to be washed for other guests. Carpet in room was old and stretched out with rolls in it to trip over save your money and stay away from here

Love this place!!! We came back to Myrtle Beach for our 1year anniversary and picked the Carolinian Beach Resort. We were actually looking for the Best Western Plus and we couldn't find it so we were thrilled to find out this was the place we were looking for with a different name!! It has been redone and very beautifully decorated. It smelled so clean and fresh when we walked in and the staff were nice...however..when we arrived we were told our room was cancelled( not by us). With it getting down to the 40's at night, we expected to have heat in our room. However, it did not work. After assessing it, we were told that they would be able to fix it the next day. However, that left us freezing. They refused to even give us a space heater!!

Me and my Chubby and my son enjoyed our stay here we will come back again if they do something with the parking. The parking was atrocious inadequate handicap spaces parking was out of control people parking in handicap spaces which did not have handicap plates. The parking lot for the hotel was two blocks away and it did not have any handicap parking inside of it at all first come first serve only.

In October 2016, my family and I had made reservations at another Oceana resort. After 1 week, we were evacuated due to the hurricane and returned home to Tennessee. After the 2nd week, we returned to the other resort but due to confusion of facts were unable to stay there. The general manager at the other resort searched for another Oceana resort for us to stay in, and when he called The Carolinian he was able to place us there. The front desk lady by the name of Tiffany and maintenance guy by the name of Joe did an excellent job helping us and making sure we were happy with our stay. They really went above and beyond and were very nice! If they are here when we visit again we will be coming again. We appreciate them and their time and effort!
