We stayed at this hotel for a wedding we were attending on the USS Yorktown. The convenience factor was key for the hotel being chosen, other than that everything was average. The room was small, you open the door and walk right into the bed. The feeling of privacy was limited. Also, I was disappointed in the amenities for the price. The food at the Reel Bar downstairs was just that, bar food and the only food available downstairs. There was also no room service- for the cost of the hotel you wo... Read more

My husband and I enjoyed most of our stay at the harbor resort. We had a harbor view suite and the view was really beautiful. The two men at the desk when we checked in were very friendly. The bed was comfortable, the room was clean, and the view was gorgeous. I was very disappointed the Friday night we were there. It turned out that there was a big party right outside of our room with a Journey cover band and hundreds of people. We paid over $420 for our room that night and I was really disapp... Read more

We enjoyed 4 rooms with harbor views and beautiful decor. I toured the facility in Feb with Candace and loved the decor. Everything she promised was available for us plus we received an upgrade to the Admiral Suite! What a view! Spacious gathering place for our wedding party to socialize. We enjoyed watching other wedding on their sandy shore and Boardwalk. Twas the perfect place for our special event nearby.

We stayed three nights and we enjoyed traveling to old town Charleston by water taxi. There was a party on the pier on Friday night with a live band playing great music. We really enjoyed this hotel and the only complaint is the maid service didn't get to the room until after 4:30 in the afternoon. The front desk staff were very helpful and friendly.

I chose the Charleston Harbor Resort as a surprise trip for my husband's 65th birthday. It turned out to be an excellent choice! We had double balconies overlooking the harbor with breathtaking scenery. We were able to enjoy the band Friday evening from our 3rd floor balcony. The resort family made sure we had everything we needed. They had placed candies and a Happy Birthday notecard in our room prior to our arrival - nice surprise! This is not a resort. It's a dirty hotel. Upon arrival we identified the condition of the hotel room and ask the front desk for a room change but the request was denied ( had to use our cell phone because the phone in the room did not work). our room overlooked a construction site that was so loud you had to close the patio doors to hear the tv. The air conditioning unit was so loud we had to turn it off. The room was dirty and had no amenities such as bar soap, extra blanket , and pad/pen. The ... Read more

My friend and I stayed here on a whim on May 19th. The best part of our experience was the convenience of the Yorktown being so close and a shuttle to the market so we wouldn't have to fight the traffic. The downsides were that the blankets on our bed were decorative but not practical, and there was construction next to our hotel that was a bit of an eyesore. I did enjoy the live music in the bar though.

We stayed at the Harbor Resort and Marina because we had reserved a boat from the "Freedom Boat Club" and it was docked there. So we drove into Charleston (10 minutes) to attend a Spoleto event and then returned. There is a shuttle that goes into Charleston as well as a water taxi, so you don't need a car. There isn't a restaurant in the hotel, so the breakfast etc. is next door at the Fish House. It was adequate and not fancy at all. We learned that if we'd called the hotel directly and not boo... However, I have to say that the hotel room left a lot to be desired and it was one of the worst nights of sleep I've had. The room smelled like urine when we arrived and evidently the cleaners must've realized it because the sliding doors were left wide open with the AC cranked on high. My wife complained about th... I am giving this hotel two stars to get your attention. I would much rather say nice things about a hotel than negative but this one should never get away with the things they get away with and not expect a comment like the one I am writing.. Ii want this notice to be clear to every reader that this hotel is taking advantage of its guests. Booking the hotel - they tell you it's one nautical mile from Charleston which is code for something else. When I asked about this on the phone they said it... Read more

No problems at all and i really am looking forward to the new resort opening. We are planning on staying there again this fall and really looking forward to it. The place is beautiful. Staff was very helpful and professional.

The term resort is misleading. It is really just a hotel. The room was clean and staff was friendly. It is over priced for what you get. The pool was average. No breakfast on site. Also watch out for the $12 a night fee resort fee. I saw them play games with kids which is great. Maybe that is what the extra money is foe.

We stayed here for our anniversary, not a great place. They had a resort area but it was like a ghosttown. No activities going on All I seen was stuff for the kiddies. Our room was no greater than the holiday inn. Scuffed up walls and a view of the hotel's dumpsters. I think the painters there got a better room than us. They did not even offer a continental breakfast. Even cheap hotels offer this. We had free water in the afternoons. (WOW) Just not impressed. I emailed the hotel with my compl... Read more

Bought this stay through Group On . Our room was clean, service was great, pool bartender was awesome. Would have been nice to have had a microwave in our room but was still very nice, a bit small but overall, very nice. The hot tub was out of service for our stay but the grounds were wonderful. Will def. be returning.

Accommodations made well in advance; upon arrival found error in accommodations- arranged for king bed & sofa bed or rollout. Room had double bed, not King & there was no rollout- room was too small for one, so we had to wait for larger room to be found. No I house restaurant, need to walk about 150 yards to restaurant--not good in rain; access to walk along shore prohibited.

Great location and helpful staff made the last day of my vacation wonderful! Everyone was really helpful and offered great travel advice when asked. I only got to stay in Charleston one night but I'll definitely be back when I can stay longer!

The hotel is ideally situated for those who have their own vehicle, though shuttles are provide to the city. Rooms are pleasant enough and well equipped, the pool adequate, while the service we experienced oscillated between the very best and worst a guest can expect - hence the rating is expressed as an average. Despite phoning ahead to check our booking, some 5 hours before arrival, to our surprise when we arrived, only one of the two families in our party had accommodation. Management on duty... Read more

My husband and I spent 4 nights here. The setting is lovely, and we were pleased with our room and the harbor view, for which we paid extra. The staff was friendly and helpful. However, since it's a resort, we thought there would be some activities going on around the pool or on the beach. There was nothing going on, and the outdoor bar was not active. There was no one there. While we enjoyed the setting, we felt it was like any other hotel, minus a hot breakfast buffet. We felt the food ... Read more

We visited the area to stay with a relative in the hospital and found this location to be very close to our destination as well as close to various attractions in Charleston. The resort was very clean, the rooms decorated bright and cheerfully. Our room had 2 queen beds that were very comfy. We both slept very well! We were on the 4th floor and had little or no noise through the walls or in the hallway. Overall one of the best rooms I have stayed in! The location had a great pool, but we did not... Read more

we stayed here using a groupon and the location is great. The place itself is very lacking . Yes it is fairly clean and the staff is ok . But I have no idea why they are referred to as a "resort" worthy of an extra $18 a day resort fee. They do have a shuttle van that goes every 2 hours downtown which is nice but it is a van which quickly fills up and we had to wait until the next time 2 separate times I saw no activities for children or adults at any time of the day or evening . So at best we ... Read more

We had such a great time in Charleston partially because of the beautiful hotel we stayed at. Our room was clean and very lovely. It had a fireplace and a jetted tub. The room was beautiful decorated with bright sunny yellow walls. Beautiful drapes. Nice color tv. The wifi was very slow. There was construction right outside my window and that was very loud. But I was told it would be over the following week. I ask to be moved but it did not happen. But they did leave us champagne and chocolate c... Read more

On the positive side, the location witheasy access to Charleston via the free shuttle, historic interests and great beaches and the many Mt Pleasant restaurants and sights. Not impressed with the Fish House, average food at above average prices, poor room view (the entrance's red roof).

Staff very friendly and courteous. Great harbor view, and view of the city across the bay. Quiet area, yet relatively close, a water taxi can be taken from the pier at the hotel over to the city. $10 all day. The hotel also has a trolley that runs on a limited schedule, but I never did see it go anywhere, but then the hotel was nearly vacant at this time of week and month.

The hotel itself is nice and clean and offers general conveniences such as a pool and onsite restaurant and bar, however there are some "conveniences" that are not required and are down right insulting. The hotel provides free porn on one of their channels later in the evening. It's 2016 and that should mean women being objectified should be LESS common, not available as a commodity provided when you stay at a hotel. Very insulting to say the least. It seems the resort is trying to cater to a m... Read more

Stayed in room 223 for a week. The room smelled a bit musty. Hopefully it is scheduled for an update. Housekeeping did an excellent job with cleanliness. Hotel staff very pleasant. Only had one chance to enjoy the pool. The young lady Conner working the pool area that day was very attentive serving food and drinks to the guest.
