Clarion Inn was perfect for my few days in Charleston. It's very easily accessible and just about five minutes from Charleston and the Citadel. The staff was very friendly. The rooms were clean and beds very comfortable. Would definitely stay again.

The front desk staff were quite helpful and accommodating. We decided to extend our stay one day and despite being fully booked they were able to make it happen.. The rooms were clean, the beds comfortable and the location just across the bridge from Charleston made accessing the historical district easy by car.

This hotel is our go to hotel....My daughter has to got to MUSC for medical treatment monthly. We stay at this hotel sometimes 5+ time a month. We will not go anywhere else. They do everything to make it comfortable. The front desk staff is great, the lady that does breakfast if fantastic, she is social with the guests and smiles all of the time. The breakfast is more then one can ask for you should not walk away hungry. What every your need they are there for you. I highly recommend the Calrion... Read more

Customer service at check in was rude however the rest of the 3 day stay was friendly and helpful. Hi-speed Internet did not exist, I was never able to connect to the hotel's Internet. I was impressed with the cleanliness of the room. Always fresh towels however some were dingy in color. Breakfast was great. For the amount of people staying there, it was quiet inside the room.

Customer service at check in was rude but friendly and helpful the remaining stay. High speed internet did not exist. Was never able to connect to the hotel's WI-FI. I was impressed with the cleanliness. Clean towels however a few were thin and dingy. Breakfast was great. Very quiet for the hotel being booked.

Just Checked in today for a 4 day visit. Discovered that we are not able to get wifi in our room. Front desk said we should sit in lobby for Internet access. That is not acceptable. This is going to be a long disappointing stay. I am very unhappy about this. I do not recommend this hotel for anyone who is looking for a hotel with Internet access.

The hotel was remodeled a little while back and is still in good shape. The staff was super-friendly and helpful. I recall Bobbie, Melinda and Shantell. They were models of what a professional and competent check-in person should be.

I stayed at the hotel over the weekend and from online the photos are great so why not choose this hotel for the price. But once I checked it was late but the tub would not drain and even though I thought I should ignore the roaches on the outside of the hotel. It was only a few. Then once in the room in the bathroom I killed two roaches and one was dead behind the door. I tried not to be a complainer since it was a low rate and you get what you pay for. The 2nd night not only did they give us a... Read more

My daughter and I stayed 3 nights. The room smelled fresh as we walked in, was very clean, and the beds were extremely comfortable. We didn't see any bugs, but it is South Carolina and there are a lot of bugs! We utilized the clean pool and the breakfast had everything from a waffle maker, to fruit and yogurt. If you are looking for a clean, comfortable place to stay with a reasonable price, this is it! The front desk manager Swantelle Jones is so friendly and accommodating. We just love her!!... Read more

This hotel is a basic clean accommodation and less expensive than staying in Charleston proper if you are staying for business or protracted stays. Very convenient location at base of Ravenel Bridge. Decent value for the level of accommodation and many good restaurants in the area. Also only about 15 minutes from Isle of Palms, Shem Creek, Sullivan's Island, and Daniel Island.

I come from a family that's worked in hotel management for 30+ years so I'm fairly knowledge of the kind of customer service expected as a hotel guest. Never in my experience have I come across such a rude, condescending and arrogant front desk representative as I did at the Clarion Inn. As a frequent traveler with friends who travel often as well, we usually book our rooms through websites like booking.com, Expedia, etc. For a weekend in Charleston, we booked a room for two nights at the Clar... The location was perfect. Easy access to everything. The grounds were kept neat/clean. Pool was nice. Breakfast was beyond basics and tasty (especially for free!). Room was spacious, clean/fresh-smelling, and well-appointed. Only small complaints--a little road noise (don't get rooms by highway--we didn't but could still hear a bit at times), walls are thin but not too bad, and hot water was fine in sink but not in shower (??). I would definitely stay here again.

This is a good location if you want downtown Charleston and the beaches. The staff is kind and helpful. Our room was clean and orderly and we didn't have any problems. The rooms all have outdoor entry and there is a pool in the center of the facility, this could be a problem, with noise or children, however for our visit everything was fine.

Room size was very European (small) and cost was more. Granted we had a king bed but limited additional space available. Photos of rooms/size deceptive. We stayed the night of July 3 so holiday rates were used - as expected but too high for room provided. Renovations were nice but commode had flush issues. TV reception was not the greatest and remote was inadequate. No drapes to darken room - just sheer drapes which let in lights from nearby parking lots and hotels. Those at the reception d... We stayed at this hotel because it is close to Patriots point. On the first morning my wife awoke early to find a spider in our bed. She is very sensitive to spiders so it could have been a BIG problem if it had bitten her. I took it to the front desk where the gal there seemed very unconcerned about it saying "the exterminator was just here a few days ago, I'll let him know about it". I was worried about noise since the hotel was so full but we didn't hear any other guests once inside the room. The renovation was very well done. One trick, you cannot turn left out of the hotel. So if your going to Isle of Palms, map quest it. A right hand turn takes you back over the Ravenal Bridge and in to Charleston before you can turn around.

We stayed here three nights and I must admit that the main reasons I selected this hotel were the location (right over the Cooper River Bridge) and the price, although it was one of those things where one night was inexpensive and the other nights increased as much as double, so probably not that great a savings. If you don't mind a few extra dollars, there is a nice Hilton Garden Inn and a fairly new Holiday Inn Express on the same street. The Clarion has some updates to it, like a nice lobby... Read more

We stayed here for one night for a beach weekend at Isle of the Palms. We found this at an excellent price and free breakfast close to the beach. The rooms are cosmetically updated but looking beyond the new paint and decor it's still budget basic with the feeling of a good clean needed (stained towels, rusted hangers, etc.). That being said for a night at a bargain price it was fine and we'd stay here again. Front desk was polite. Check in and out was very simple. Breakfast was okay (eggs... Read more

Very friendly staff. They provide a map of the area. They have an outside pool but it was closed for the season. They have 24 hour laundry facilities. Laundry machines cost $2 each load. The breakfast was very good. They scrambled eggs, sausage links, jelly biscuits, seasoned potatoes, waffles , 3 juices, milk, 4 kinds of cereal, bacon, 2 kinds of yogurt, and bagels. No one leaves this place hungry. We had 5 teenagers and everyone was happy with the selection.
